This holiday home was perfect for our family trip! The private swimming pool was a hit with the kids, and we loved spending the evenings in the living room by the fireplace. The view from the terrace over the meadows was simply beautiful, especially during sunset.

Well, what can I tell you. The house is old, looks old and is really French. What surprised us the most is that some items really need replacing, such as a rusty BBQ grill, sagging sunbeds, a shower cabin or frying pan (we left ours for the tenants after us) and a few other items that could really use replacing or refurbishing after years of use. When you flush upstairs, air burps up in the toilet (this only concerned air bubbles). The floor on the first floor creaks quite a lot. Our experience is that it has not been cleaned thoroughly. It has been done reasonably well, but a toilet should not smell and there were dust flakes under the bed upon entering. We cleaned it ourselves and hung up a toilet block. Do not expect a duvet but old blankets, it is what you like, but we bought new duvets at U-express. In Salviac there is this U-express supermarket with cheap fuel (does not reserve amounts). Above the entrance is a small wasp nest, but we were not bothered by it at all. The house is full of woodworm and I felt that this was not a safe idea. The landlords should really do something about this. The wood dust literally came down under the canopy. So we ate outside the canopy. Everyone has their own personal experience. Now for the good points. The view is great and the swimming pool is clean, maintained somewhat dated but wonderful to stay in. We were able to quickly turn around the negative points and had a wonderful holiday. But coming back, no, not in this state of the house.The house itself 2 stars, swimming pool and garden 4 stars, average 3 stars out of five.

Well, what should I say? The little house is old, looks old, and is really French. What surprised us the most is that some items are really in need of replacement, like a rusty BBQ grill, sagging loungers, a shower cabin, or frying pan (we left ours behind for the tenants after us) and a few other items that could definitely use updating after years of use. If someone flushes upstairs, air bubbles come up in the toilet. The floor on the first floor creaks quite a lot. Our experience is that it has not been cleaned thoroughly. It's reasonably done, but a toilet shouldn't smell, and there were dust bunnies under the bed upon arrival. We cleaned it ourselves and hung up a toilet block. Don't expect a duvet but rather old blankets; it's what you prefer, but we bought new duvets at U-express. In Salviac, there is this U-express supermarket where you can refuel cheaply (does not reserve amounts). Above the entrance, there is a small wasp nest, but we didn't have any trouble with that at all. The house is full of woodworm, and I personally felt this was not a safe idea. The landlords should really do something about this. Literally, wood dust fell down from under the awning. So, we ate outside the awning. Everyone has their personal experience. Now for the good points. The view is amazing, and the pool is clean and well-maintained, although outdated, but lovely to hang out in. We were able to quickly turn the negatives around and had a wonderful vacation. But coming back, no, not in this condition of the house. The house itself 2 stars, pool and garden 4 stars, averaging 3 stars out of 5.

Beautiful old house (16th century) in beautiful rural surroundings. The house is owned by the local farmer and farmer. Very friendly people. Boer Guy is cleaning the pool every morning. The house is truly secluded on a dead end road between the meadows and cornfields. The cows are in the garden. Very much privacy and rest. The house itself is really old with old window sills, etc. It is also modernized with sanitary and electric appliances. The decor is what you can expect in this type of French country houses, old, oubollig, or called "fits the style of the house". Beds are moderate, not suitable for persons above 1.80 (like myself). Bedrooms upstairs (there are 3 floors, middle floor is the living area) are spacious. The bedroom on the lower floor is spacious but unsuitable as a bedroom. This is due to the fact that this floor is halfway in the ground, which makes it very moist / stale. Like sleeping in the basement. But further it is a great house, suitable for 4 people, beautiful location and very nice owners.

Very nice and quiet house. In the middle of nature, at the end of the street. We have a really blissful holiday behind us. The cottage is very typical and charming, and also well equipped with new appliances. The bottom room is a bit damp, but through the open window towards the garden, this was an ideal playground for our children who also wanted some cooling. The covered terrace and the pool were the icing on the cake!

Beautiful authentic house, located very rural and secluded. Beautiful environment. Village to do small errands is a 10-15 minute drive, large supermarket half an hour. House, garden and private pool are fully equipped, but could use a little maintenance. Owner lives a little further back to the street (on a farm) and only speaks French. If you want a piece of authentic France, a lot of peace and can appreciate a bit of French style, then this is a wonderful holiday address!

The house is in a beautiful spot at the end of a small country road. It is very quiet and the view is fantastic. Slightly higher next to the house is a large swimming pool which is cleaned and replenished every day by the son of the owner. The house itself was unfortunately disappointing. Because the woodwork on the upper floor is full of woodworm, the four beds on the upper floor cannot be used. At night sawdust falls from the beams and ants and other insects walk in the beds. The noise of the gnawing woodworm can be heard permanently both during the day and at night. That's why one of us had to sleep on the couch in the living room. Furthermore, the house is poorly maintained and dirty. It has not been cleaned for a long time. The sunbeds next to the pool were all cracked and dirty. On the day of departure, the lady owner accused us of breaking a lounger and tried to make us pay for it. Although the location was great, we won't be coming back here.
