Enjoy the stunning views your vacation home offers and be inspired for varied tours in the Harz Mountains. Upon your return, a visit to the Kristalltherme Heißen Brocken thermal baths is a great option for spending relaxing and rejuvenating hours.
The climatic health resort of Altenau is not only one of the starting points for hikes on the Harzer Hexenstieg (Hexenstieg Trail), but is also home to Europe's largest herb park with a beautiful spice gallery. A visit to the Altenau private brewery, with a guided tour and tasting, is also not to be missed. It is the only remaining brewery in the Upper Harz. Altenau is located in the heart of the Upper Harz, about ten kilometers from Clausthal-Zellerfeld and 15 kilometers from Goslar. To the east, the peak of the Brocken is 12 kilometers away.

Beautiful large apartment with a great view, but not suitable for small children, no socket safety, no stair gate, no dishes for children, generally very meager equipment, no dish soap, no tabs for the dishwasher, no broom. Otherwise clean and quiet. Overall, we had a nice stay with 4 adults and 3 children.

What a wonderful stay! The apartment was cozy and well-equipped, making it feel like a home away from home. The views from the terrace were simply breathtaking, especially at sunset. We spent our days hiking on the Harz Witch Trail and even visited the local brewery for a tour, which was a highlight. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and made us feel at home right away. Highly recommended for anyone looking to relax and enjoy nature!
