Description
Our holiday hunting lodge is situated in a wonderful secluded location near the small village of Ziegelsambach with its own well and photovoltaic system! It is situated at the edge of the forest on a sunny clearing on a slope in a huge property (7000 sqm, not fenced), with a large meadow with numerous fruit trees. Children can have a wonderful romp here! Or just relax in the quiet nature. Infrared cabin in the basement!!! Outdoor whirlpool on the terrace!!! The house has a living room with wood-burning stove, sofa corner and dining area. It is very cosy with lots of wood. The kitchen is well equipped (cooker with ceramic hob and oven, toaster, coffee machine, kettle, small dishwasher ...). Furthermore, there are 2 bedrooms (1xdouble bed 180x200, 1x2 single beds 90x200, 1 extra bed if needed, 1 baby travel bed if needed). The bathroom has a shower and WC (renovated 02/2021). There is also an extra WC. On the large balcony (loggia) with access from the living room, you have a beautiful view of the clearing. In addition, there is a large sun terrace where you can also barbecue. Garden furniture and barbecue are available. Since April 2011 we have our own photovoltaic system on the roof! The house has new windows with roller blinds and fly screens, renovated and insulated facade and a new coat of paint. The water comes from our own well, it can be cloudy. In winter it can happen that due to weather conditions the last part of the access road (approx. 150m forest road) is not passable by car. The car can then be parked outside below the access road.

Location and surroundings of object
The holiday home is located on the edge of the village of Ziegelsambach near Schlüsselfeld. Schlüsselfeld / Ziegelsambach can be reached directly "Via the A3 motorway (Nuremberg - Würzburg). From exit no. 77 Schlüsselfeld it is about 6 km to the holiday home. In the Steigerwald you can hike wonderfully (500 km marked hiking trails, 40 km start in Aschbach). Bicycle tours are also very popular the Fürstbischöfliche Radtour. There are two 18-hole golf courses nearby, the leisure park Geiselwind (approx. 10 km), the adventure park Schloss Thurn (approx. 30 km) and the Playmobil Funpark (approx. 60 km). In the Weinfrankenland, visits to the numerous cosy wine festivals are worthwhile in summer. Bamberg, a world cultural heritage site, is only 35 km away. Nuremberg with its large zoo and world-famous Christmas market is also only 60 km away. Rothenburg ob der Tauber with its well-preserved old town from the Middle Ages is worth a trip, as is Bad Windsheim with its open-air museum and thermal spa. NEW: Tree top walk near Ebrach!
Ziegelsambach is a small village that belongs to the town of Schlüsselfeld. Schlüsselfeld is again a small cosy town in the Steigerwald Nature Park with town walls, town towers and a small museum. There is everything your heart desires ... the ice cream parlour is especially popular in summer! You can do your shopping, have a leisurely meal or visit the beer cellar with typical Franconian beer. It is open in summer on weekends when the weather is good (then the flag is hoisted).
There are also shops in the nearby village of Aschbach. You can also go out to eat there, go to the open-air swimming pool or play tennis and much more.

A stressful vacation in a very beautiful landscape
We were guests from 12-22.08.2023. The vacation home is really beautifully located on a slope, surrounded by forest and meadow on the side and back. Inside, it is very well equipped with everything you need, the mattresses are top-notch, and it was very clean. Since it is a stone house, even in hot weather, the temperature inside was very bearable, the bedrooms in the basement always had a pleasant 22 degrees. Communication with Mrs. Wiendel also worked very well. Unfortunately, we didn't experience the peace and quiet that is often advertised in the reviews during these 10 days. For understanding... The house is located at the end of the village, about 50 meters as the crow flies from the last house in the village. This house also has a barn that seems to be the social meeting point for the youth of the village. The youth met there every evening for merry get-togethers with techno music and revving motorcycle engines to end the day in a fun way. On weekdays, there was quiet after 10:00 p.m., but on weekends, the party sometimes went on until 4:00 a.m. (sleeping with the windows open was not possible). On Sundays, it started again around 1:00 p.m. Sitting comfortably on the balcony wasn't fun then. Heavy agricultural equipment was used from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The only option was to retreat indoors because it was no longer possible to have a proper conversation outside. Since you are in the countryside, you should take this aspect into account. We hadn't thought about it when we booked. A mistake that won't happen to us again. Depending on the wind direction, the highway is also very audible. Staying at the house, letting your soul relax, or reading a book wasn't particularly enjoyable because you only had noise and noise in your ears. Of course, we know that these are all things that cannot be changed, but this place is not as quiet as it is advertised. Very unfortunate.

Everything you need is there! Price/performance ratio very good!
Contact with landlord/administration no problem and very friendly and helpful!!!
We will also spend a week there next year!
The whirlpool is the absolute highlight and ideal for 4 people!
A small suggestion, a roof for the whirlpool would be an advantage because in the autumn/winter months it could be used better even in drizzle and rain and would also be better protected.

Top house / always happy to return
This is the second time we have stayed here and we feel totally at home again! Of course it is an old house, but everything works perfectly and everything is meticulously clean! In contrast to two years ago, it is praiseworthy to mention that one notices that they are constantly working on the renovation and refurbishment. The bathroom downstairs is new and the dishwasher in the kitchen has been replaced Important for us on holiday is peace and relaxation and that is more than given here! The whirlpool in the garden is the icing on the cake! The furniture and the furnishings match a hunting lodge , that's how you imagine it ! The house is simply inviting and beautiful! We will definitely come back a 3rd time :-)

Sehr schön und erholsam
Beautiful little cottage in the woods, perfect for relaxing if you seek peace or want to recharge your energy. My four-legged companion especially enjoyed the long walks in the forest. The highlight is clearly the hot tub :)
The kitchen equipment could be a bit better, had a bit of a youth hostel character which doesn't quite match the rest, but everything is available and clean! Unfortunately, the mattress was already quite worn out, which clouded the positive impression a bit, but the property management promised to replace it soon. Another negative point for me were the wasp nests at the garage and in the roof near the living room window, not ideal for someone like me who is allergic to wasp stings. On a positive note, all windows are equipped with fly screens.
All in all, we were very satisfied and were able to relax for a few days. Price/performance is really very good and we will definitely come back again! A big praise also goes to the management Mr. and Mrs. Wiendl, always there, very helpful and very nice, you feel very well taken care of there!
