A stressful vacation in a very beautiful landscape

We were guests from 12-22.08.2023. The vacation home is really beautifully located on a slope, surrounded by forest and meadow on the side and back. Inside, it is very well equipped with everything you need, the mattresses are top-notch, and it was very clean. Since it is a stone house, even in hot weather, the temperature inside was very bearable, the bedrooms in the basement always had a pleasant 22 degrees. Communication with Mrs. Wiendel also worked very well. Unfortunately, we didn't experience the peace and quiet that is often advertised in the reviews during these 10 days. For understanding... The house is located at the end of the village, about 50 meters as the crow flies from the last house in the village. This house also has a barn that seems to be the social meeting point for the youth of the village. The youth met there every evening for merry get-togethers with techno music and revving motorcycle engines to end the day in a fun way. On weekdays, there was quiet after 10:00 p.m., but on weekends, the party sometimes went on until 4:00 a.m. (sleeping with the windows open was not possible). On Sundays, it started again around 1:00 p.m. Sitting comfortably on the balcony wasn't fun then. Heavy agricultural equipment was used from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The only option was to retreat indoors because it was no longer possible to have a proper conversation outside. Since you are in the countryside, you should take this aspect into account. We hadn't thought about it when we booked. A mistake that won't happen to us again. Depending on the wind direction, the highway is also very audible. Staying at the house, letting your soul relax, or reading a book wasn't particularly enjoyable because you only had noise and noise in your ears. Of course, we know that these are all things that cannot be changed, but this place is not as quiet as it is advertised. Very unfortunate.

Perfect

Everything you need is there! Price/performance ratio very good!

Contact with landlord/administration no problem and very friendly and helpful!!!

We will also spend a week there next year!

The whirlpool is the absolute highlight and ideal for 4 people!

A small suggestion, a roof for the whirlpool would be an advantage because in the autumn/winter months it could be used better even in drizzle and rain and would also be better protected.

Top house / always happy to return

This is the second time we have stayed here and we feel totally at home again! Of course it is an old house, but everything works perfectly and everything is meticulously clean! In contrast to two years ago, it is praiseworthy to mention that one notices that they are constantly working on the renovation and refurbishment. The bathroom downstairs is new and the dishwasher in the kitchen has been replaced Important for us on holiday is peace and relaxation and that is more than given here! The whirlpool in the garden is the icing on the cake! The furniture and the furnishings match a hunting lodge , that's how you imagine it ! The house is simply inviting and beautiful! We will definitely come back a 3rd time :-)

Sehr schön und erholsam

Beautiful little cottage in the woods, perfect for relaxing if you seek peace or want to recharge your energy. My four-legged companion especially enjoyed the long walks in the forest. The highlight is clearly the hot tub :)
The kitchen equipment could be a bit better, had a bit of a youth hostel character which doesn't quite match the rest, but everything is available and clean! Unfortunately, the mattress was already quite worn out, which clouded the positive impression a bit, but the property management promised to replace it soon. Another negative point for me were the wasp nests at the garage and in the roof near the living room window, not ideal for someone like me who is allergic to wasp stings. On a positive note, all windows are equipped with fly screens.

All in all, we were very satisfied and were able to relax for a few days. Price/performance is really very good and we will definitely come back again! A big praise also goes to the management Mr. and Mrs. Wiendl, always there, very helpful and very nice, you feel very well taken care of there!

Cute cabin to feel comfortable

Due to the poor review from early October 2021, we were already thinking about what to expect there. . .
We can only say that NOTHING of that was confirmed. (Except that the TVs in the bedrooms are actually broken. . . But it's noted, and we didn't miss them (you can watch TV at home, no need to travel).)
We had a wonderful weekend in this very lovely cottage. Everything was just as imagined, everything was prepared for us, and everything went well.
Those who love something rustic and secluded are in the right place here.

Beautiful holiday home in a quiet location.

Great holiday home in a very quiet location. Ideal for relaxing and hiking. Beautiful nature.
The hot tub is a great extra. We had a somewhat complicated arrival due to train delays, but everything went smoothly. Mr. Kress even took the time to show us the house late at night. Very courteous, competent, and friendly. Such great service is not found everywhere! Thank you very much! We were completely satisfied and would love to come back.

There is plenty of room for improvement

The first problem was that we could not arrive when we had planned. Instead, the property manager dictated when we had to be there. We have never experienced something like this before; we pay for the accommodation, yet we are told when we must be there. This resulted in a loss of 120 euros for us, which neither the property manager nor the landlord cares about. The landlord only says, "according to the contract, arrival by agreement." The Duden should be revised at some point, according to agreement, it means that one is told what to do. The 2nd problem is that the property manager made us drive an extra 15km there and back. Apparently, the property manager is unaware that GPS navigation systems exist nowadays. He insisted that we should have driven through there. Oh, the property manager is the new navigation system. The 3rd problem is that the repairman did not show up as agreed. Issue, the property manager didn't even ventilate before we arrived, we came into the house and were immediately hit by a musty smell. The 4th issue, the whirlpool. The water should be drained and cleaned. We didn't use the whirlpool as we found it disgusting. The 5th issue, the beds. Besides being old, the mattresses are completely worn out. We had back pain the next day. Here you can see that the landlords probably haven't spent a night in the house for a while. Or they don't care how the people who pay to stay there sleep in the beds. Also, there is a broken television in the bedroom. It's strange when something is broken, why leave it there instead of throwing it away. Apparently, no time to take care of the house they want to make money from. We stayed at the house from 4th to 7th October. Originally booked, but left again on the 5th of October 2021, as all the problems with the house were simply too much for us. We then rented another vacation home. There we decided when to check in, not the house manager.

Beautiful autumn holiday in a peaceful location.

We were able to spend a beautiful and relaxing autumn holiday. The location above the town is great, it is in the middle of the forest. From the covered terrace, you can watch the squirrels and jays at work. One morning, even a deer stood in the meadow by the house! The equipment is as expected for a hunting lodge. Many antlers and lots of wood, everything you need for a relaxing vacation is available. The beds are very good for us in our fifties, we slept great, longer than we can at home. We think the whirlpool is top-notch, the temperature can be adjusted depending on the outside temperature. The many jets and warm water make it super relaxing. The location is very central, within a 5/6 km radius there are many shops, restaurants, and pizzerias, and the Puma outlet is nearby and recommended. . . Even our big, rather shy dog had a peaceful vacation here! We had coordinated with Mr. Kress in advance, as we had a longer journey and delays can always happen. The handover of the house on Saturday at 3:30 pm and the return on Tuesday at 10:00 am went completely smoothly, and we even had time for a nice chat. We had Mr. Kress's phone number for questions/problems, but we didn't need to use it. We found everything top and will surely travel back to the holiday home in 2022! Thank you!

Very nice cozy atmosphere, very quiet location with hot tub and indoor sauna.

W O N D E R F U L

We spent a wonderful week in the very quiet, well-maintained holiday home. The house is in a splendid secluded location and equipped with everything you need. The mattresses in the beds are all of high quality. The absolute highlight for us was the whirlpool on the property, pure relaxation and bliss. The surrounding attractions are all easily accessible by car from here. We can only recommend it. And we would love to come back again.

Great house at a fair price.

We spent 4 days in this beautiful house and were really positively surprised by what was offered to us here. The house is located in the middle of the forest, and when using the hot tub, you only hear the birds - pure nature. Our 2 dogs also felt very comfortable here. A special praise to the manager, Mr. Kress, who takes great care of the guests.
