We rent a semi-detached house built in 2004 on a sunny plot in a quiet location in the seaside resort Ückeritz on the holiday island of Usedom. The town of Ückeritz is situated at the narrowest point of the island, and the holiday home is located in its center. The distance to the Baltic Sea beach and to the backwaters is approximately 1200m (as the crow flies). The path to the sea leads only through the coastal forest available here, while the walk to the Peenestrom passes through the town center with restaurants and shopping facilities. Depending on the season, various leisure activities are available. The maritime-style holiday home, suitable for max. 4 people, can be heated, and even has an electric tiled stove with a bench in the living room. It has two bedrooms (double bed or bunk beds) upstairs. One of the bathrooms is also located there. The kitchen is fully equipped (dishwasher, microwave, oven, stove, kettle, toaster, egg cooker, coffee maker, etc.). In the living room, in addition to a TV with DVD, radio with CD, the appropriate holiday reading and board games are available. On the property, you can make yourself comfortable in the beach chair or on the terrace. A grill is available. Your brought bicycles can be stored in the log cabin. The house has a car parking space. It is a non-smoking house. Pets are not allowed! It is an 8-minute walk to Ückeritz station (Bäderbahn). By train, you can quickly reach the neighboring imperial spas (Ostseetherme) or Wolgast or Greifswald.

The House is situated on a quiet plot into a residential area. The residential area is separated from the beach by coastal forest. The walk there takes about 10 minutes. To bath railway station, there are also 10 minutes 5 minutes, in the city center. The House is located at the end of a cul-de-sac with two other duplexes.

Sweet little holiday home
The lovely holiday cottage is very clean and fully equipped - we lacked nothing. The only thing that might be missing is a washing machine, as there is unfortunately no laundromat within walking distance. There is enough space to not step on each other's toes even on rainy days. The paths to the beach, shopping, train station, and restaurants are easily walkable if you're not completely lazy (about 20 minutes to the beach). We felt very comfortable and were satisfied all around!

Liebe Familie S., es freut uns, dass Sie einen schönen Urlaub hatten und sich im Ferienhaus wohl gefühlt haben. Die Aufstellung einer Waschmaschine haben wir bereits erwogen- leider lassen die Platzverhältnisse im Bad das nicht zu, da ja auch die entsprechenden Installationen (Zulauf, Ablauf) noch Platz finden müssen. Kleiner Tipp für den Weg zum Strand: hierfür kann man auch gut ein Fahrrad nutzen. In der Kurkarte ist ja die Radausleihe (kein eBike) eingeschlossen. Vielleicht beim nächsten Mal?

Stay with obstacles
We stayed in the holiday house for 12 nights. Upon arriving there, we didn't know how to get to the entrance. This is a bit confusing, as the entrance is for 3 duplex houses. If someone had been there for the key handover, this would not have been a problem. We made sure that there was a lockable storage option for the e-bikes we brought along when we booked. It would have been available if the key had been there. It was delivered after four days. One also had to find out for oneself where the shelter possibility was located. The grill mentioned in the pictures and description also had to be searched for. But to top it all off, when you wanted to turn over in bed, you were always afraid because the bed creaked—until it finally gave way on the 7th night at 3:30 AM and the slatted frame fell to the floor. This problem was already mentioned in the guestbook in 2020. A contact with the landlord could then be established on Saturday morning, and an appointment was scheduled with a carpenter for Monday morning. Until then, we constructed a temporary solution with paving stones. On Monday, we waited in vain for the carpenter or a call starting at 7:00 AM. Only after we had left the house did the call come around 10:45 AM. He wanted to come right away. We then agreed on 2:00 PM. No one wishes for such a holiday. Aside from the fact that the night was not restful at all, as sleep was out of the question, we had to make do with the available means to get through the weekend and sacrificed a day of vacation for the repairs, it would be nice to receive the promised compensation.

Liebe Frau N., es tut mir Leid, dass es in Ihrem Urlaub Hindernisse gab. Als es 2020 bereits ein Problem mit dem Bett gab, erfolgte unmittelbar eine Reparatur durch einen Fachbetrieb, so dass es sich jetzt nicht um ein "altes", sondern ein "neues" Problem handelte. Dass ein Handwerksbetrieb sich dann schnellstmöglich- von Samstag Vormittag bis Montag- um die Behebung des Schadens kümmert, ist für eine Ferienwohnung wohl angemessen. Für die Unannehmlichkeiten möchte ich mich entschuldigen. Bitte teilen Sie mir Ihre Bankverbindung mit, dann erhalten Sie wie versprochen eine Entschädigung. Ich hoffe, Sie hatten dennoch einen schönen Urlaub.
