Welcome to our beautiful holiday home Alfbachtal!
The log cabin offers you 50 sqm of space for up to 4 people.
Inside the house there is a cozy living room with a dining area as well as a kitchen. In the kitchen, in addition to a dishwasher and a stove (including oven), there is a Dolce Gusto coffee machine and a filter coffee machine, a microwave, a toaster, and a kettle. Pots, plates, and cutlery are also available. The comfortably furnished living room features a television as well as a fireplace, which creates a romantic and cozy atmosphere on cool summer and winter evenings. There is plenty of firewood available.
You will also find the bathroom with shower and toilet as well as a washing machine on the ground floor.
Furthermore, there are two bedrooms on the ground floor – one with a double bed and one with a bunk bed, and custom-made wardrobes for your luggage. Your private outdoor spa: barrel sauna & hot tub
Experience ultimate relaxation right on our spacious outdoor grounds. For a true Scandinavian wellness feeling, a rustic barrel sauna and a cozy hot tub are available to you.
Both highlights are heated in the traditional way with a wood stove, creating a particularly pleasant atmosphere and the soothing scent of burning wood. Whether sweating in the sauna or relaxing in the hot water under the open sky – here you can let your soul unwind.

Location and surroundings of object

The Eifel National Park starts right at the property. Experience unique holidays in nature - simply wonderful.
The log cabin is located outside the village of Habscheid in a wonderful secluded location with panoramic views, surrounded by trees that also provide a home for numerous species of birds and squirrels that regularly visit our guests.
The holiday home is in the immediate vicinity of the Eifel-Ardennes cycle path, which was built on the former railway line Prüm - Pronsfeld -Bleialf - and has a length of 37km. On the almost flat or only gently ascending route, you can relax and enjoy the landscape panorama of the German-Belgian Nature Park. With a bit of luck, you can observe beavers, deer, wild cats, fire salamanders, brook lampreys and much more in the Alfbach valley. As a contemporary witness of the Westwall from World War II, there is a bunker complex right next to the holiday home, which was blown up after the war.
We are the ideal starting point for extensive hiking and cycling tours in the Eifel Nature Park.
The "Black Man" is the highest point of the Schneifel and can be reached in about 10 minutes from the holiday home.
The name "Schwarzer Mann" (Black Man) is said to come from the black faces of the miners when mining lead ore in the mine of Bleialf . Rare plant and animal species such as royal fern and wildcat occur at the "Schwarzer Mann"
There is a winter sports centre with ski and toboggan lifts and two cross-country ski trails (12 and 18 km). During the winter, a hiking trail of about 5 km is cleared.

Wooden cabin in the middle of the little forest lets the soul unwind.

This wooden cabin with complete equipment is a bullseye. TV with Magenta TV, free Wi-Fi in the living room. Fully equipped kitchen for 4 people. Stove, oven, dishwasher, dishes, cutlery, numerous pots and pans, toaster, 2 coffee machines, a huge refrigerator with freezer compartment and much more. Adjacent to the living room is a wood stove, which we used twice in this weather. Easy to fill and clean. 2 bedrooms, also adjacent to the living room, each with 2 beds in standard sizes (90x200). In the large room, there is a wardrobe. Large enough for 4 people.
The bathroom is spacious, allowing for easy movement. Shower cabin, toilet, sink, and a heater. Hot water everywhere. You can book this "Alfbachtalhütte" at any time of the year. The property is surrounded by a fence. We were able to let our dog run on the property without any worries. But the most beautiful thing is the live performances of numerous songbirds and squirrels. Our host family has set up feeders in many places in front of the windows. Simply brilliant. The whole area is located in a small woodland by a road with very little traffic, as the road ends 200 meters further. Bring your bicycles, or use bicycles from the annex. There are numerous bike and hiking trails right outside the door, such as the one to the beaver dam. The beaver can also be reached on foot. Beautiful surroundings, lots of forest with amazing panoramic views. It was 14 wonderful days.

Fantastic!

I was at this fantastic house for the second time this weekend. The peace, waking up with a squirrel outside the window, and all the beautiful birds in the garden. Lovely walks nearby and also perfect for the dog. The owners are very nice people.

A paradise of tranquility

We are here for the second time now and will also come for a third and fourth time. The tranquility here is a dream. The birds greet you every morning because the landlords have hung up feeding stations everywhere. The house is furnished with love and care. In the kitchen (important for women), there is nothing missing. Everything is really there. The landlords are super nice and do what is possible. Absolutely great...

Dreamlike time out from everyday life

The landlord has furnished the house with extreme attention to detail, the highlight being the numerous bird feeders in front of the house windows. From early in the morning until dusk there is a lot of bird traffic and you can observe a breathtaking variety of birds. The location of the cottage is indescribably beautiful - in the middle of the forest and embedded in nature. In the evening, the songs of the owls bring you to bed, you sleep soundly and completely undisturbed. As for the facilities, the house has a fully equipped kitchen with all the trimmings (very high quality) and the landlord also provides firewood for the stove. We would love to come back at any time of the year, as the Eifel simply has too much to offer for nature lovers.

Great log cabin in the countryside!

We stayed in the beautiful log cabin for a week to get away from the big city for a while and felt very comfortable. The rooms are not big, of course, but it is very cosy and you have everything you need in the house!
On the property, you are completely alone and have no direct neighbours, only a little further down the hill. We therefore enjoyed sitting outside to eat or read
It is also very nice to watch the birds and squirrels, which like to come right up to the window for the laid out food
Parking is no problem, as you can access the property directly from the small road that runs past. The garden is completely fenced and gates can be closed, which is certainly interesting for people with dogs that are not too keen on escaping
We spent most days walking in the nearby surroundings. You are immediately in nature, so you don't necessarily have to drive somewhere first. We often walked 6-8 km without meeting a soul
The landlord was super nice and always had good tips at hand when needed
We can definitely recommend a visit to the Alfbachtal holiday home!

Tolle Auszeit in der Natur

We spent a weekend with our child and dog in the beautiful holiday home. We felt very comfortable. It was very clean and cozy. Surrounded by beautiful nature, our daughter could watch squirrels and birds at the feeding stations by the window during breakfast. The surroundings invite to long walks in nature. A truly beautiful weekend. We would love to come back.

Relaxed holiday in nature

The cozy and well-equipped wooden house is quietly located on the edge of the forest, the property is fenced, which is really nice for dog owners! From the dining table, you can watch all sorts of bird species and squirrels visiting the feeding stations, better than any TV program! The area is ideal for hiking and cycling. We really enjoyed our days there and can highly recommend this accommodation to all those seeking peace and nature lovers.

Pure nature and tranquility!

We spent a wonderful week in this great log cabin. It is located all by itself in the middle of nature, surrounded by many birds that we could observe directly from our window during breakfast. Since the property is fenced in, even our dog could feel right at home. The house with a fireplace is really cozy and equipped with everything you could wish for. It even has Wi-Fi. A big thank you to the kind Hack family! We will definitely come back again! ! !

Schöne Ferien in der Schneifel

Our holiday in this cozy log cabin in the forest will remain very positively in our memories for a long time. The facilities were great! Whether the perfectly equipped kitchen, the modern bathroom with top washing machine, the living room with an exclusive view of squirrels, bullfinches, great tits, etc., the cozy bedroom... everything was excellent! There was a lot of information about the surroundings and sights available to immediately start exploring on the bicycles provided. Very friendly contact with the Hack family. All in all, highly recommended for nature and animal lovers and people who love peace and rural life, like us, but still do not want to do without the conveniences of a modern household.

...and the forests remain silent forever

Wonderful little quiet house with perfect equipment for a nice quiet New Year's Eve with a child and a dog. Our son was happy about a nice big television with many programs, the extremely cozy sofa, and of course the Wi-Fi. Our dog found the total peace fantastic, the meadows and fields all around, and actually had to be leashed because of all the many animal tracks outside. The bird feeders in front of the dining room window provide entertainment in second increments, from the nuthatch to the woodpecker. My husband and I really enjoyed the extensive walks with the dog, far from the city and car noise...not to mention the huge starry sky at night...fantastic! Within a half-hour radius by car from the house, there are some castle ruins to visit - all in all, a completely relaxing short vacation. Thank you very much! We would love to come back sometime.
