Description
The Casa "Maracuya" (350m above sea level in the beautiful village of "Breña Alta") belongs together with "Casa Papaya 1", "Casa Papaya 2" and the cute, affordable tiny house "Abuela" to our beautiful "Finca Suculenta". It has a well-equipped kitchen-living room (coffee machine, toaster, kettle, oven) with access to the 2 terraces. In addition, there are 2 bedrooms each with 2 beds (1.40m x 2.00m) with continuous mattresses, wardrobe, and storage options. For our little guests we have a cot and high chair (on request).
The bathroom has a shower, cosmetic mirror and hairdryer. The rustic barbecue area with seating and table has a beautiful mountain view and is perfect for cozy barbecue evenings.
There is a larger terrace with seating (convertible into 2 sun loungers) + dining table with beautiful mountain and sea views and a smaller one with dining table and built-in bench.
The "Casa Maracuya" is perfect for families with children! We have tried to make it as safe and comfortable as possible: gate on the indoor staircase, there are beach and table games, children's books, child's chair, high chair and baby bed are available, hand blender, beach umbrella and much more! For greater comfort, there is an electric heater in the living kitchen and the bedrooms and bathroom have underfloor heating. In the house you will find all sorts of accessories such as information material about the island, books, beach towels (free on request) and a stereo system. Also WLAN and SAT TV.
Pets up to 15 kg (on request) are welcome. We have special tips ready for our paw guests about everything you can do together with your owner on the island, and in the house we have prepared food bowls, beds, and toys so that the holiday will be really great for everyone.
There is also a washing machine that may be used free of charge. In the shared garden, you can feed the water turtles with the children, pet the fat cats or play with the dog, and harvest basil, parsley, rosemary, lemon verbena, thyme, etc. in the herb garden.

The house is located in a small, quiet village in the municipality of Breña Alta, about 350m above sea level.
It is possible to buy organic fruit and vegetables within about 20 minutes on foot, and a very well-stocked supermarket is only 10 minutes away on foot.
The nearest town can be reached after 1.5 km. There you will find several ATMs, a health food store, pharmacy, butcher, bakery, bars, gas station, post office and other shops as well as a very good ice cream factory (Helados Taburiente). One of the island's most famous hiking trails, the "Camino de las Fuentes", begins right in front of the house. Also beautiful places like the famous dragon trees of Breña Alta ("Dragos gemelos", 10 minutes on foot), the cigar museum and the museum of the Cross Festival, the farmers' markets of Breña Alta and Mazo, the beautiful beach of "Los Cancajos", the viewpoint of "La Concepción" with a view of the capital and the south of the island, the famous and sweet grill restaurant "Chipi Chipi", the capital Santa Cruz (only 15 minutes by car away) with its beautiful old town, the island and the ship museum, the fantastic city market, etc. Also near the house, in "Las Nieves", you can visit the most important church on the island. Just a step further, you will find the road up to the Roque de los Muchachos, where one of the most important observatories in the world is located.
The island's airport and port are only 15 minutes away by car, without you hearing or noticing anything from them.

A bus stop is about 5 minutes walk from the house and you can easily order taxis almost to the house. I recommend a rental car as this is the best way to explore the island.
The hiking trails (more than 1000 km!) are well signposted.

Home from Home
We (older couple) were allowed to spend the whole winter in this cute little house and felt incredibly comfortable. It lacked nothing and was cosy and warm thanks to the underfloor heating in the basement. Lucy took care of all our questions and wishes immediately and competently. The volcano tour she led was a special highlight.
The equipment of the flat is very well thought out and tiptop maintained, so that we lacked nothing. Even baking bread and cakes is possible thanks to the oven.
On sunny days, the sheltered terrace was our favourite spot. The "Indian room" is a cosy corner, e.g. for a home office. We especially enjoyed the cuddly cats.
We travelled a lot on foot and by bus, but a car is highly recommended in this location (private parking is available) to take maximum advantage of what the island has to offer. There is a well-stocked supermarket 10 minutes walk away, but you have to be able to negotiate a steep bit of road. The next largest town, San Pedro, is also within easy walking distance.
Summary: Cosy, romantic cottage with flair and charm in a dreamlike setting.

Unbeatable and magical

WONDERFUL STAY :)
We are 4 girls from Girona, Valencia, and Brazil. We spent 5 days in the wonderful Maracuyá houses!
There is no lack of detail in the kitchen, bathroom, terrace... Lucy has a lovely little house, and she is charming. She made us feel at home even before arriving in La Palma: she advised us on the weather, visits, and car rental. Upon arrival, she lovingly explained the Finca Suculenta project, how the house works, and gave us tips about the island. She exudes enthusiasm explaining little things about the beautiful island :)
The house is very cozy and the location is very convenient for visiting different points on the island. We definitely want to repeat and would recommend staying with Lucy 100% :)

Delightful accommodation
We stayed at Casa Maracuya for twelve days and felt very comfortable! The house is very clean, charming and lovingly furnished and decorated!
The kitchen is super equipped, the bathroom with underfloor heating was really pleasant on cool days. Balcony-terrace with great view, cute garden with turtles, papaya trees, callas and delicious fresh herbs! Lucy a great hostess with lots of good tips! Muchas gracias y hasta la prôxima vez! Everything bomb :-)
... to put it in Lucy's words. Already shortly after the reservation Lucy contacted us and had a quick answer to all questions before and during our stay. We felt very comfortable and very well looked after!
The all-round carefree package for a relaxing holiday includes not only the beautiful terrace, the very well-equipped kitchen, a cosy living room and enough space in the basement, but also a lovingly tended garden where there is something new to discover every day.
Of the many beautiful accommodations we have already discovered, Lucy's finca is really something special and definitely worth recommending.
We will be back and are already looking forward to it!
