Dear guests! We enjoy living in the WIENERWALD and yet being able to reach WIEN MITTE within an hour, to immerse ourselves in the life of a wonderful metropolis. You will need a car / rental car to get to Baden train station. You can reach Wien Mitte by train in 35 minutes.
The city of BADEN can be reached on foot through the Wienerwald in 30 minutes or in 5 minutes by car. Tours of the IMPERIAL CITY BADEN BEI WIEN and the IMPERIAL PALACE LAXENBURG provide insights and background information on the history and anecdotes of the imperial families and their entourage, who supported various forms of artistic activities (Beethoven, Mozart, Lanner Strauss, etc.) in Baden. Baden is still a cultural center (theater and summer arena, historical ensembles) with a beautiful pedestrian zone, extensive - very well-kept parks, and great tourist infrastructure (hotels and gastronomy of international standard) and a variety of entertainment options (casino, racetrack, generous spa and bathing facilities, and a multifaceted wine tavern culture with excellent wines and delicacies for the palate. LAXENBURG CASTLE with its fascinating history (Empress Maria Theresia, Emperor Franz II - Franzensburg, resort of the imperial family Franz Josef and Elisabeth etc.) with extensive park and recreation facilities, the castle lake with the Franzensburg Island.
Miniature train - Mini golf - Boat rental - Ferry to the island - Franzensburg with museum. All of this can be reached from our holiday apartment in 25 minutes by car. A different world opens up around NEUSIEDLER SEE, where the Pannonian climate shapes the flora and fauna. You will not soon forget the atmospheric evenings at concerts and operettas on the Seebühne in Mörbisch and the town of Rust am See with stork nests on the chimneys.
Numerous boating offers and evenings at Heurigen with gypsy music bring a great holiday feeling - and all within an hour's drive by car. For hiking and climbing enthusiasts and hang gliders, the HOHE WAND (1135) Nature Park, Sky Walk, RAXALPE (2009m), SCHNEEBERG (2075m), and SEMMERING are great destinations, where you can also reach the plateau hikes with ascent aids (mountain roads, cable cars, cog railways). Flight schools for beginners in hang gliding. Numerous well-managed mountain huts and a fantastic panorama are the reward for their efforts. The WACHAU DANUBE VALLEY with its historical and cultural offerings, monasteries, and castles set in a magnificent landscape can best be enjoyed in nice weather with a river cruise on the Danube and tasting a serving of apricot dumplings.
The renovated robber baron castle Aggstein with its Nibelung exhibition high above the Danube is an experience for adults and children alike. The same goes for the ruins of Dürnstein, where you can learn about many historical details (King Richard the Lionheart/ Minstrel Blondel etc.) while ascending. ) and legends. Here, they will also encounter the splendid emerald lizards on the sunny side and enjoy a wonderful view of the Danube Valley.
BURGENLAND, WACHAU, and our THERMAL REGION are wine regions with an excellent reputation. Let yourself be pampered by the culinary offerings and the special atmosphere at the Heuriger (wine taverns).
All previously mentioned destinations can be reached from the FERIENWOHNUNG FÖHRENWALD in 45 minutes or less by car.

Beautiful apartment in a great location
We spent two wonderful weeks with my husband and our dog in the Föhrenwald holiday apartment. The apartment is spacious, very well and tastefully furnished, and equipped with everything we needed (and more). It was pleasantly warm and very cozy. The location is also excellent, both for long walks or hikes (just a few steps from the Beethoven path, spa park, the vineyards, etc.) as well as for shopping or other activities in Baden. A heartfelt thank you and a special commendation to the hosts! It is increasingly rare these days to find such genuinely friendly and warm-hearted people like the Steiner family. We were received with great warmth. Everything we needed for breakfast or an evening snack was ready for us in the fridge. Throughout our entire stay, we were excellently cared for. We will definitely come back!

Top accommodation with a warm host!
The holiday apartment is idyllically located directly by the forest – perfect for quiet walks in nature. At the same time, it is just a stone's throw from Vienna, making it ideal for day trips to the city. The apartment is very clean, well-equipped, and we lacked nothing. The landlord was extremely friendly and hospitable. We felt completely comfortable!

Very spacious, clean, nicely decorated and fully equipped apartment. You have everything you need and above.
Location is perfect, especially if you plan to visit Vienna, 30-minute drive by car. Peaceful and quiet place, rest for the soul. Beautiful garden behind and in front of the house as well as a view of a beautiful forest where you have nice walking paths.

We are private landlords of our holiday apartment Föhrenwald and enjoy living in the Vienna Woods ourselves, yet within an hour we can be in the centre of Vienna to immerse ourselves in the life of a wonderful big city. We enjoy walking for half an hour through the pine forest and are located in the middle of the imperial city of Baden. Connoisseurs, history lovers, casino lovers, horse sport enthusiasts, those seeking peace and quiet and last but not least spa guests will find what they are looking for here. The city centre, extensive parks, the Rosarium and the cultural witnesses of the emperor's residence time are worth seeing and impressive. The cosy part is represented by our Heurigen offer in the thermal region south of Vienna. Bratislava, the World Heritage Sites Danube Valley Wachau and Lake Neusiedl, the mountain regions Raxalpe, Schneeberg and the Semmering area - all this you can reach from our holiday flat Föhrenwald in an hour's drive or less.
