Holiday home Klein Wimmenum in Egmond aan den Hoef, with in spring the flower fields on the other side, the nature reserve* and near the sea/beach in Egmond aan Zee.
The holiday home is situated in a quiet area, on the outskirts of the cosy village of Egmond aan den Hoef.
Access to the North Holland Dunes Reserve is almost on your doorstep. Here you will find ideal opportunities for cycling and hiking. The access card is included free of charge
The distance to the sea and wide sandy beach of Egmond aan Zee is *3/4 km
From the cottage you walk about 3 minutes to the center of Egmond aan den Hoef and in *10 minutes to the center of Egmond aan Zee, with shops and coffee terraces.
The cottage is equipped for 2 persons and all rooms are on the ground floor.
The living room has a cosy sitting area and a dining area. A cupboard in which you will find glasses, games and information material about the Egmonden and its surroundings.
An LCD TV flat screen, cable TV is available and you can use WIFI / WLAN free of charge!
A gas hot spring provides hot water and the holiday home has central heating
The kitchen is equipped with microwave, fridge with freezer compartment, coffee machine, bread/toaster, mixer, citrus pers.
There is a double room with 2 box spring beds and 1 (baby) travel cot. Both beds have dimensions of 80x200cm. The beds are equipped with duvets and pillows, without bed linen
You can bring bed linen and towels or get them from us for a fee
The bathroom is equipped with a washbasin, shower and toilet, washing machine and dryer.
A highchair for children is available and included.
On the sunny side there is a terrace with garden furniture. Grill possibility exists on the property.

Egmond aan den Hoef is located *2 km from Egmond aan Zee, in the north of the Dutch province of North Holland. The holiday home is not far from the North Sea beach, so you can spend a relaxing beach holiday here in summer
The biggest attraction of the Egmonden is the beautiful, kilometre-long sandy beach and the location directly on the North Sea. The seaside resort became supraregionally famous for this. Here you can enjoy pure beach life, bathe in the sun, swim or treat yourself to a snack or drink in one of the cosy beach pavilions. If you want some peace and quiet from the hustle and bustle, you can walk along the beach and relax
One of the most famous sights of the region is the lighthouse in Egmond aan Zee. It was built in 1834 and named after the navigator van Speijk. The lighthouse is the landmark of the village. Also impressive is the old town of Egmond aan Zee, with its pretty fishermen's cottages in the typical Dutch style. If you are interested in the history of the place, we recommend the Museum van Egmond. Another popular excursion destination is the Torensduin dune, which is considered a great vantage point. Another highlight is the impressive dune belt of North Holland, which stretches many kilometres along the coast of the North Sea. The dunes protect the mainland from the sea and provide drinking water. In spring you have the chance to watch a special spectacle: Many farms in the surrounding area have specialised in the cultivation of tulip bulbs. This is why millions of tulips bloom in spring in different colours, enveloping the already unique landscape in a colourful kaleidoscope
Explore the surroundings of the Egmonden. The remains of Egmond Castle in Egmond aan den Hoef are of cultural and historical interest. In the district of Egmond Binnen, for example, there is an impressive Benedictine abbey from the tenth century. It is one of the oldest monasteries in the Netherlands. The nearby cities of Amsterdam, Haarlem and Alkmaar are worth a day trip. Alkmaar is only *10 kilometres away. There you can experience a lot of culture in the centre, for example in the Stedelijk Museum, the Beer Museum, the Beatles Museum or the Cheese Museum. The biggest attraction of the city is the famous cheese market. This historical institution has existed since 1365 and takes place every Friday from April to September. Then Alkmaar turns into a colourful and folkloric folk festival. And the selection is gigantic: up to 30,000 kilos of cheese await potential buyers. Also in Egmond aan Zee there are popular markets, every Wednesday evening and Thursday morning
The Beverwijkse Bazaar is also beautiful. It is a large covered market in the town of Beverwijk. In one of the largest market halls in Europe you will find over 300 stalls, 69 restaurants and 700 shops. The market has been open every Sunday from to since 1984
In spring, summer or autumn, in Egmond aan den Hoef, maritime nature shows its most beautiful side. You wouldn't be in Holland if it weren't for the bike! Rent bicycles on site for your excursions, unless you have brought your own. In this way you will get to know the landscape in an active way
Where development ends, the nature reserve begins. The beautiful *North Dutch Dune Reserve" is only a stone's throw away. Numerous cycle paths cross the province of North Holland and from your bike you have an even more direct view of one of the most beautiful regions of the Netherlands. Whether it's a family-friendly pedal tour or a challenging cycle tour: the Netherlands is one of the most bicycle-friendly countries in the world and there are many excellent cycle paths available.

Wonderful accommodation
My friend and I spontaneously decided to spend the first week of Easter vacation here and we were very lucky that the accommodation was still available. Despite our late arrival (after 10 pm!), we were warmly welcomed. The location of the holiday home is ideal, the beach of Egmond aan Zee can be reached within a half-hour walk through beautiful dune paths. The nearest supermarket (Albert Heijn) is also easily reachable on foot.
Although the house is located right next to the owners' residence, we had plenty of privacy, but the owners were always available for questions. The small garden is inviting for breakfast and relaxation in good weather. The house has everything you need and the surroundings are suitable for couples, families, cyclists, and walkers.
We really enjoyed our stay and would love to come back.

Absolutely recommendable.
Apartment fully furnished with everything you need. The house was clean and well maintained. Nice terrace, quiet location, you have complete peace. Very nice and helpful landlord family who live right next door. We spent a wonderful week here. Made a day trip to Alkmaar and Haarlem. Overall, a recommended holiday accommodation. We really liked it.
The property is recommended, we would love to come back anytime.
