Not even 500 m from the beach you will find the cosy holiday apartment `t Roefje ( apartment 41). Here you can relax wonderfully with a book on the sofa or enjoy the beautiful surroundings on the terrace. With a little luck you can observe deer and roe deer.
The apartment is situated in the most beautiful location of the small and quiet complex "De Torenhoeve", only a short distance from the red and white lighthouse of Nieuw-Haamstede. The complex is situated in a completely green environment and has a swimming pool, which is heated from 1 May to 1 September. The hotel in the park has a restaurant with a cosy terrace.
The comfortable apartment with approx. 50 m2 is suitable for max. 4 persons and is fully equipped.
There is one bedroom with a double box spring bed and one bedroom with a pull-out bed.
The apartment is modernly furnished and has an open kitchen with a small bar, a cosy dining table and a sitting area with TV. From the apartment you have a wonderful view of the magnificent garden.
From the apartment you can walk through the wide dunes to the beach in 10 minutes. Thus a fine holiday corner with ideal location to the beach and a good starting point for hikes and bike tours.
You can take your dog with you, the apartment is "dog-friendly".

Location and surroundings of object
Did you know that Nieuw-Haamstede was originally built as a holiday village? The district was established at the beginning of the 20th century, when tourism became an increasingly important source of income for the village of Burgh-Haamstede. Originally there were mainly wooden holiday houses, which were later gradually replaced by stone houses.
Nieuw-Haamstede belongs to the municipality of Schouwen-Duiveland and lies on the west side of this island of Zeeland. The area is also called "Kop van Schouwen".
The North Sea coast around the island is characterized by extensive and wide sandy beaches, which are one of the biggest attractions for the many tourists who visit the island every year. From Nieuw-Haamstede you can reach the beach on foot via five different paths. These dune paths cross a very varied dune landscape with bare valleys, sand dunes and dune meadows with many colourful and fragrant dune plants.
Several hiking trails - among them "de Meeuwenduinen" - lead through this beautiful landscape, where herds of wild Shetland ponies and Scottish highland cattle curiously watch you. In Westerschouwen this area merges seamlessly into the largest forest of Zeeland, "de Domeinen". Along this coastal route you will also find one of the most beautiful mountain bike routes in our country.
The area around Nieuw-Haamstede is perfect for long cycling tours through a landscape that is only occasionally seen in the Netherlands. The many quiet little country roads will take you past characteristic villages and allow you to take various safe bike rides.
Nieuw-Haamstede is characterised by a number of famous sights, including one of the highest lighthouses in the Netherlands. The red and white striped "western light gates" have a height of fire of no less than 58 metres above sea level. Did you know that this tower was depicted on the 250 guilder note until the end of 2001?
Apart from this tower, there is a striking tower, the so-called "Plompe Toren", just outside the village. This tower is the only remnant of the village of Koudekerke, once situated on Schouwen-Duiveland. The village sank into the sea between the 15th and 17th centuries because of the many floods that hit our land.
There is also the "Slot Haamstede" from the thirteenth century. The castle is located in the adjoining Burgh-Haamstede and is now owned by the Natuurmonumenten Foundation. This old castle is only accessible under supervision.
Nieuw-Haamstede is not far away from the world famous Delta Works with the impressive Oosterscheldekering. This storm surge barrier connects the island of Schouwen-Duiveland with the island of Neeltje Jans, where you can visit the family water park of the same name. The Grevelingenmeer north of the island with the Brouwersdam is suitable for active contemporaries, where one can practice many kinds of (water) sport.
In Nieuw-Haamstede you will find a small seasonal supermarket and a few good restaurants. The village has its own glider airfield where you can book an introductory flight for a small fee.
You will find a large supermarket, a drugstore, a bakery and a bicycle rental in the adjacent Burgh-Haamstede.
You can also visit the old Dutch towns of Zierikzee, Veere and Middelburg or the seaside resorts of Renesse and Domburg.
