Travel guide Savudrija
Dreamy Location by the Sea
Many holidaymakers deliberately choose a holiday apartment or house with air conditioning and a view of the sea. Summers in Croatia are very hot, especially in July and August. Nevertheless, it is bearable in Savudrija, on the coast, and at the beach, as a steady wind blows. Accommodations, apartments, or flats with a pool promise refreshment. Book a
holiday with a pool in Savudrija and experience pure relaxation and recreation! The most beautiful time is in May and June when everything in Savudrija is green and blooming. Even in September, it is warm enough to jump into the sea or pool. In winter, it can get very cold. Temperatures below freezing are not uncommon.
Gourmets and Wines
The cuisine of
Istria has already made a name for itself beyond national borders. Truffles, Fuzi, or excellent fish dishes are typical. In Umag and the surrounding towns, you will find numerous Konobas and taverns. One of the best addresses to taste Istrian cuisine is the Pergola restaurant in Zambratija. In addition to delicious wines, you will find typical specialties, modern and creatively served, at a fair price. About twelve kilometers east of Savudrija, you will find the Konoba Buscina, named after the village where it is located. The menu offers fresh ingredients and local products. The wine list is also more than impressive. The San Rocco Restaurant in Brtonigla has been awarded by Gault Millau. It is one of the culinary highlights in Istria and Croatia. Excellent wines and extraordinary dishes await you here. The very good wines are typical for Croatia. We recommend a trip to the neighboring wineries of Momjan. Most holiday apartments and houses in Savudrija are not far away. Enjoy a meal in a romantic restaurant at the harbor of the fishing village and experience the hospitality of the country.
Diving into a Previous World
Enjoy the magnificent sea view from your private holiday home or apartment! During the day, it is worth visiting the beaches of the region. They are mainly rocky beaches with crystal-clear water. These include the Savudrija/Basanija beach, the sandy Zambratija beach, which is popular with families, and the beaches of the Autocamp Pineta and Borozija. There are also beach sections suitable for dogs. You can find them in the Kanegra, Sol Polynesia, Savudrija, and Sol Stella Maris facilities. A sight worth seeing is the 19th-century lighthouse of Savudrija. This lighthouse is considered the oldest and northernmost of its kind in Croatia. According to tradition, the Austrian Count Metternich had the 36-meter-high tower built in 1818 for a Croatian noblewoman. In and around the region, there are also remarkable excavation sites that remind us of Roman times. On the Sipar peninsula, you can visit a Roman fort and learn more about the cultural history of the region. Impressive: Divers can explore the remains of an ancient Roman port facility in an underwater world. Cyclists and mountain bikers will also find plenty to do in the region. Particularly beautiful are the Parenzana cycle route through central Istria, the culinary delights and tradition bike tour, and the "Treasure of the Riviera of Umag" cycle route. You can rent bicycles here or do water sports. Excursions to nearby and not far away places are also recommended during a holiday. For example, go on a shopping tour, visit the Aquapark Istralandia in Brtonigla, or the picturesque towns of
Novigrad,
Porec, or
Rovinj. Book a holiday home, apartment, or flat, for example in Zambratija, according to your personal wishes with modern facilities and in the best location, and enjoy your holiday with the family. Many possibilities for guests with children or active holidaymakers await you here.
