Summer vacation Stendenitz

A very beautiful holiday home with everything you need and very clean. The location is wonderful and quiet; when it's warm, you just take a few steps to the lake and find a shady spot and several seating options as well as a ladder for swimming at the dock. Highly recommended for families or couples. The landlord Henry is also super nice. We would love to come back.

From the waterfront promenade in Neuruppin, the view extends far across Lake Ruppiner. The historic old town is a complete work of art from the early classical period, two hundred years ago. Wide and long streets with beautiful squares dominate the scene here. An architectural highlight is the new extension of the Neuruppin Museum. The central meeting point is the Bürger-Bahnhof at the Rheinsberger Gate. From here, you can reach the city wall and the moat, which invites you to stroll along its paths, trees, and shrubs. Crown Prince Friedrich created an exotic park with baroque sandstone putti during his tenure. Georg Wenzeslaus von Knobelsdorff, a friend of Friedrich, built his first structure here in 1735, the Apollo Temple. At that time, a circular temple was unique in Europe. The Temple Garden, along with Sanssouci Park in Potsdam and Rheinsberg Castle Park, is one of the three Frederician temple gardens in the state of Brandenburg. Right behind the Temple Garden is the new extension of the Neuruppin Museum, which creates a link between the Temple Garden and the museum. A permanent exhibition presents the history of Neuruppin as well as the prehistoric and early history in the Ruppiner Lakeland, but also the famous Neuruppin picture sheets are shown here. The museum is not only a treasure trove for Fontane lovers. After all, the wanderer and poet had a very unique view of his homeland. Visitors have the opportunity to listen to quotes from Fontane's "Wanderings through the Mark Brandenburg" at 20 audio stations. Fontane's birthplace is just about a five-minute walk from the museum. After a day full of activities, you can relax in the evening at the Fontane Therme. The 34-degree warm thermal water is a blessing for body and soul, and the view over Lake Ruppiner is wonderfully relaxing. The town is known far beyond the region for its picture sheets and the classical inner city. Throughout Brandenburg, there are impressive castles, industrial monuments, museums, and park landscapes. The excursions feature interesting stories. The cultural landscape is perfect for operas, concerts, and theater performances against a breathtaking backdrop. In the medieval part of Neuruppin stands the oldest half-timbered building, the Up Hus. Despite the fire at the end of the 18th century, it has been completely preserved.
