The apartment was located in a charming courtyard of a beautiful winery operated by the hosts. One of them was an artist, and her beautiful paintings adorned the apartment. The hosts were incredibly welcoming, delighted to chat with us while also giving us our privacy. The winery has a tasting room where you can sample some excellent wines if you're interested. There are many breathtaking hiking and walking trails in the Kaiserstuhl, so be sure to ask the tourist information center for maps and information. Exploring the small towns in Vogtsburg is delightful, with opportunities to visit museums, enjoy wine, and try delicious food. Highly recommended!

The apartment is really nice, spacious, light, with a well-equipped kitchen, a nice outside seating area and comfortable beds, We were given glasses of very good wine on arrival and also two bottles for the room, The lager-quality Spätburgunder is particularly noteworthy, and we bought several bottles to take with us, It is in a great location for hiking up the Kaiserstuhl and seeing the natural beauty and wildlife of the area, We saw the rare and endangered Bienenfresser and Wiedenhopf birds, large green lizards and of course the famous large land snails, Wild flowers of many kinds were blooming everywhere, including large expanses of poppies, You can easily return from hiking destinations by public transport, The immediate area is also very beautiful, even if you don't go out of the village much, We liked it so much that we are planning to return for a couple of weeks in the next few years and will certainly rent this apartment again if it is available,

Very Good Location for making excursions into The Black Forest, The Voges in France & the Northern border area of Switzerland Very friendly householders both grandmother & her daughters family Locally you can walk in the fruit orchards & vineyards - the area has a micro climate much warmer than the surrounding area - we were surprised by the variety of fruit notably plums, cherries & redcurrants - unusually we also found a Mulberry & Medlar tree which are not seen very often in the UK Using the Konus travel card which is given to you on arrival it is possible to explore the Black Forest by train - it is best to drive to Breisach which is only fifteen minutes away from the house & park the car there - there is then a half hour service Monday to Saturday into Freiburg from where numerous rail (and bus) connections can be made I would also recommend making the following longer excursions - Basel (by train), Strasbourg (by car - parking not a problem), & the northern border areas of Switzerland both east & west of Basel (by car)
