Simply wonderful

First of all - we can fully understand all the positive reviews 100%.

Yes, the location is not at the center of the world and most tourist attractions are about 90 minutes away, but those who enjoy a bit of nature and the Italian joie de vivre will feel right at home here.

We were already there 18 years ago with our younger children - now we are back with our son, his wife, and a toddler, as well as a husky. The house has not changed (except for a few modernizations) and still retains its charm and the coolness of half-meter-thick walls.

Fortunately, all the windows are fitted with insect screens - although there were only a few mosquitoes during our attempt. Gianfranco is still an excellent and charming host, and even though he comes to water the property daily, you don't notice him unless, like us, you have a curious dog that explores the fully fenced, vast area.

We can hardly recommend Casa Fantone enough.

Enchanting

We stayed in the flat for 2 weeks in July August and really enjoyed it. The flat is idyllically located away from all the hustle and bustle in the green above Poppi. The flat has everything you need as a holidaymaker. The two landlords are great, friendly, reserved people. We were constantly supplied with home-grown, fresh vegetables and herbs. The pool often provided the necessary cooling. We felt very comfortable there. Many thanks again to both of you. We will be happy to come back.

Dreamlike!

We stayed in Casa Fantone in September as a couple with our dog and were very enthusiastic:
- the old farmhouse in authentic condition, everything very well built, very clean
- the property with the pool a dream, the wonderful distant view
- the spacious, lonely surroundings
- Gianfranco: a perfect host and quite untypical landlord (no deposit, payment before departure), who provided us with great tomatoes and vegetables. Wg. Corona no breakfast with him, but he brought us fantastic bruschette and cooking.
- excellent restaurants in the area (Blue Bar + Tavernetta in Bibbiena, The Home Pizzeria in San Piero)
- no smell of smoke in the house (we were worried about this at first, as it is not a non-smoking house)

What you should know: Tuscany is not hilly in this area, but rather mountainous. The house is at an altitude of 600m, nearby it goes up to 1450m. It is about 10 km to the shops, it is impossible to go for a meal or to a pub on foot. The car is always needed. But you have a total idyll without any hustle and bustle. The best thing to do is to search for Casa Fantone in Google Maps, you can see it very well there. And Arezzo is worth a visit.
