The attractive guesthouse is situated in a very quiet and sunny location in the district of Vörösbereny (Red Sandstone), 1.5 km from the lake, and is furnished for holidays. Balatonalmadi is situated directly on the lake, with fruit crops on the south-facing lovely rolling hills and has a pleasant Mediterranean climate.
Balatonalmadi is situated at the eastern end of Lake Balaton in picturesque beauty, with a magnificent view of the lake, many things to see and its characteristic red sandstone. It is one of the fourth largest villages on the lake, with 7 km of shoreline stretching to Kaptlanfüred, probably the most beautiful, extensive shoreline, with plenty of opportunities for water sports. The very well-developed bicycle network invites you to enjoy cycling tours in the immediate vicinity, along the lake and in the neighbouring Balaton Uplands National Park. This is unique in terms of flora, fauna and geology and extends from the northern shore of the lake to a 15 km wide strip in the highlands.
Lake Balaton is located in the Little Pannonian Plain of western Hungary, 100 km west of Budapest and 190 km southeast of Vienna. Affectionately called the "Hungarian Sea", it is the largest inland freshwater and steppe lake in Central Europe, covering an area of 584 square kilometres and formed about 14,000 years ago after the end of the last ice age. The 77 km long and 5 to 12 km wide lake is divided into two basins by the Tihany peninsula. On average it is only 3.20 m deep, the water warms up quickly to pleasant temperatures, 27°C in summer, and with its silky-soft water and partly sandy beaches it is a very popular destination for many holidaymakers.
Enjoy boat trips and sailing on the azure to emerald green lake.
Popular hiking destinations are the nearby Wesseleny lookout tower, Mount Szabadsag (283m), the Soo Hill or a ride into the charming highlands with the horses of a riding stable. There is an indoor swimming pool and adventure park in Balatonfüzfö (3 km). The fortified county capital VESZPREM (Wisprim/Weißbrünn), also known as the "City of Queens", is only 10 km away. The porcelain factory and museum in HEREND, 20 km away, was founded 200 years ago and is well worth a visit.
BUDAPEST, the "Paris of the East", is easily reached by car, bus or express train in about an hour.
For day trips to the neighbouring counties, the towns of Shekesfehervar (Stuhlweißenburg), Zirc with its 20 ha large arboretum, Sümeg with its castle, Papa with Esterházy Castle, Györ (Raab), Szombathely (Steinmanger), Vasvar (Eisenburg), Sarvas (Rotenturm an der Raab), Köszeg (Güns), Sopron (Ödenburg) with their restored historical old town centres have much to offer.

Dreamy holiday home
We stayed for 14 days in this great house (apartment downstairs) with a beautiful garden and large pool.
The landlord was very nice and helpful, everything was very well maintained. The pool was cleaned daily.
The rooms are spacious, as is the terrace - dry and protected, with a bit of a lake view. We always ate here.
There are many German TV programs available. The fridge has a good and sufficiently large freezer compartment.
Various bakers and supermarkets can be reached in a few minutes by car.
We had a good rest and would come back anytime.
