About us
Our Waldschmiede is situated on an over sqm large, fenced and park-like hillside property in southeast location and consists of three comfortable, very high quality and lovingly furnished holiday flats: Wichtel, Kobold and Troll as well as the holiday home Rübezahl.
Each of our flats has all the versatile equipment you need for a perfect holiday.
Located on the edge of a small idyllic village in a quiet side street, we offer you pure relaxation. Enjoy nature on one of the stylish terraces, at the house's own fir grove or on the balcony of your holiday flat. In addition, we offer you a communal facility with a relaxing sauna and relaxation room with a small library and board games. Of course, there is also a shower and a separate WC in the sauna area. A gazebo with the possibility of barbecuing as well as a washing machine and tumble dryer are of course also at your disposal.
There used to be a blacksmith's shop on the property, so you will find hand-forged items such as railings, lamps and tables in all the flats and on the grounds.
Various shopping facilities and localities can be found in Hessisch Lichtenau, only three kilometres away, with its picturesque old town.

What the region has to offer
The area around Waldschmiede is perfect for hiking. For example, the Grimmsteig trail passes directly by the village and the Ars Natura trail is also only two kilometres away. The region also offers fairytale attractions. In Hessisch Lichtenau, three kilometres away, you can visit the geo-nature park Frau-Holle-Land and the picturesque old town, in Kassel you can visit the Grimm World, the Bergpark Wilhelmshöhe with Hercules, Löwenburg and water games, which has been designated a World Heritage Site, and in Melsungen you will find one of the most beautiful half-timbered towns in Germany. Other castles, the two-castle view and many museums in the region are waiting to be discovered. Holiday highlights can be found in the Witzenhausen tropical greenhouse, in the Bad Soden-Allendorf saltwater spa or on a glider flight from the nearby airfield.
Day trips include Wartburg Castle in Eisenach or the Sleeping Beauty Castle Sababurg with Europe's oldest zoo and the adjacent primeval forest with over 800-year-old oaks.
Every five years, Kassel hosts the world's largest art exhibition - the documenta. for 100 days, the world of artists is a guest in northern Hesse and attracts thousands of visitors to the numerous exhibitions and happenings.
Enjoy the nature around the Waldschmiede. Our Wichtel holiday flat consists of 4 rooms with 98m² of living space and is ideally suited for 4 people. The flat, which has been awarded four stars, has its own large balcony and terrace. There are plenty of parking spaces for cars directly in front of the house and there are parking facilities for bicycles and motorbikes. In addition to the cosily furnished holiday flat Wichtel, you can also discover the fairytale-like grounds around the Waldschmiede. You will not only find relaxation there, but also in the communal facilities, which include a sauna with relaxation room, including a small library and board games with direct access to the terrace. There are also two gazebos with barbecue facilities and a fire basket, a beach chair as well as a washing machine and tumble dryer at your disposal.

Cancellation terms:
- You will be refunded the booking amount minus the cancellation fee, if you cancel the booking at least 4 days before the planned check-in until 12 o’clock CET (Central European time). For cancellations which are made less than 4 days before check-in, you will be refunded 50% of the booking amount minus the price for the first night and the cancellation fee.

Very nice stay at the turn of the year
We are two families with older children and had rented the Waldschmiede for our New Year's Eve stay. The flats are very clean, comfortably furnished and there is pretty much everything you need. And if something is missing, the very nice landlords are happy to help. As a special attention, a well-filled fruit bowl was ready on arrival. Great vacation rental - excellent landlord
Thanks to the beautiful vacation rental and the kind and helpful nature of the Nückel family (if you have any wishes, they help you uncomplicated and quickly), this vacation week became a successful and very relaxing holiday for us!
The park-like garden with its many terraces and idyllic seating areas invites you to linger. Here you can feel that the vacation rentals and the garden have been lovingly and meticulously prepared, so that the guest can feel completely comfortable here.
Anyone who wants to experience culture, nature, tranquility, but also life in the Werra-Meißner district should use this vacation rental as a starting point.
We will definitely come back because we really liked this vacation home and the Nückel family is so nice.
