About us
Our Waldschmiede is situated on an over sqm large, fenced and park-like hillside property in southeast location and consists of three comfortable, very high quality and lovingly furnished holiday flats: Wichtel, Kobold and Troll as well as the holiday home Rübezahl.
Each of our flats has all the versatile equipment you need for a perfect holiday.
Located on the edge of a small idyllic village in a quiet side street, we offer you pure relaxation. Enjoy nature on one of the stylish terraces, at the house's own fir grove or on the balcony of your holiday flat. In addition, we offer you a communal facility with a relaxing sauna and relaxation room with a small library and board games. Of course, there is also a shower and a separate WC in the sauna area. A gazebo with the possibility of barbecuing as well as a washing machine and tumble dryer are of course also at your disposal.
There used to be a blacksmith's shop on the property, so you will find hand-forged items such as railings, lamps and tables in all the flats and on the grounds.
Various shopping facilities and localities can be found in Hessisch Lichtenau, only three kilometres away, with its picturesque old town.

What the region has to offer
The area around Waldschmiede is perfect for hiking. For example, the Grimmsteig trail passes directly by the village and the Ars Natura trail is also only two kilometres away. The region also offers fairytale attractions. In Hessisch Lichtenau, three kilometres away, you can visit the geo-nature park Frau-Holle-Land and the picturesque old town, in Kassel you can visit the Grimm World, the Bergpark Wilhelmshöhe with Hercules, Löwenburg and water games, which has been designated a World Heritage Site, and in Melsungen you will find one of the most beautiful half-timbered towns in Germany. Other castles, the two-castle view and many museums in the region are waiting to be discovered. Holiday highlights can be found in the Witzenhausen tropical greenhouse, in the Bad Soden-Allendorf saltwater spa or on a glider flight from the nearby airfield.
Day trips include Wartburg Castle in Eisenach or the Sleeping Beauty Castle Sababurg with Europe's oldest zoo and the adjacent primeval forest with over 800-year-old oaks.
Every five years, Kassel hosts the world's largest art exhibition - the documenta. for 100 days, the world of artists is a guest in northern Hesse and attracts thousands of visitors to the numerous exhibitions and happenings.
Relax after a hike, an excursion in the region or a strenuous day at work in our Rübezahl holiday home. The 72 m² flat is perfect for groups and has 3 bedrooms with a total of 8 sleeping places. In addition, there are 2 bathrooms with 2 showers at your disposal. On the balcony you can enjoy the view over the countryside or you can relax in the spacious garden, consisting of two gazebos with barbecue facilities, several terraces, fire basket and beach chair,a beach chair as well as washing machine and tumble dryer are available.
The washing machine, tumble dryer and sauna can be used by arrangement for a small fee
A possibility to change your hiking clothes and also a drying cupboard for them is available
In addition, the holiday home offers storage facilities for bicycles and motorbikes. Sufficient parking spaces for vehicles are available in front of the house.

Cancellation terms:
- You will be refunded the booking amount minus the cancellation fee, if you cancel the booking at least 4 days before the planned check-in until 12 o’clock CET (Central European time). For cancellations which are made less than 4 days before check-in, you will be refunded 50% of the booking amount minus the price for the first night and the cancellation fee.

The minimum rental period is 7 nights. In the low season and at short notice by arrangement, bookings of 3 nights or more are also possible. For bookings of less than 7 days plus 10% minimum quantity surcharge, less than 5 days plus 20% minimum quantity surcharge.
20% of the price must be paid at the time of booking. The remaining amount is to be paid 10 days before departure or in cash on arrival

TOP holiday home
We found a very nice, well furnished and very clean and well maintained holiday home and were able to enjoy the holiday to the fullest. The landlords are very nice and always have an open ear! :-)

A good time in the beautiful holiday home
We stayed in the holiday home with 2 adults and 3 children as well as a dog. We liked it very much, the surroundings invited us to go for nice walks. The week went by much too quickly. Our thanks go to the landlords for their cordial and quick service in all matters.

Great holiday home!
We were with 4 adults and 4 children over New Year's Eve and stayed in the house. We liked it very much. We went on extensive walks, mountain bike tours, but there are also sights nearby :) The contact with the landlord was super nice and friendly :)
