Description

We rent our private vacation home in the heart of Italy:

8 km Citta di Castello
45 km Arezzo
55 km Perugia
65 km Assisi
120 km Florence
130 km Orvieto
230 km Rome

We purchased the former farmhouse years ago by 15 and lovingly restored in the meantime. It is located in an absolutely secluded location in the woods and can be reached by a small road.

In the 60's it was used last as a school, where the children of the surrounding farms have been informed. My great-aunt was there only teacher for 5 vintages. Then it stood empty for many years until we rediscovered it, bought it and began to renovate. The last work we have completed 3 years ago.

During the renovation, we tried to get as much as possible of the old character of the house. So we cleaned the stone facade and rounded back. Inside, we have designed the soils with cotto tiles, the traditional beamed ceiling, we were able to save and renovate.

We have complemented the house to a modern heating system, so that it is comfortable habitable in the winter months.

On 150 sqm you will find:
- 3 bedrooms with double bed, or 2 beds
- 2 bathrooms, one with shower and tub / whirlpool, toilet and bidet, a smaller one with shower, toilet and bidet
- 1 living room with fireplace and passage to the large kitchen with dining area. Up to 6 - 7 people can be comfortably accommodated in the house.
In the living room with large stone fireplace you can find a satellite TV and a hi-fi system. An open passageway leads to the fully equipped kitchen with dining area.

The kitchen is equipped with stove, oven, refrigerator, dishwasher, coffee and actually all necessary household utensils.
Wireless internet available.

The swimming pool 7x13m and is available from about May to mid September.

Vacation Villa CASA DELL`ORSO in Città di Castello in Umbria, on the northern border to typical former farmhouse is in a quiet location at 450 m height on a fenced property of ha surrounded by cedars, pines and pine , Greenery surrounded sunny terraces around the pool. Who is interested in art and history can make from this location the most beautiful sightseeing:
Totally worth it are out of medieval towns such as Gubbio, Assisi, Perugia, Arezzo and Città di Castello (very close). Florence is 1 1/2 hours by car.
Music lovers can early September the famous chamber music festival
'Festival delle Nazioni' or the well-known Jazz Festival 'Umbria Jazz' enjoy.
Information on art and cultural events are available in the house.

Holiday in paradise

This is the second time we have spent our holiday in this great holiday home. It really is like paradise here - quiet and secluded in an impressive landscape on a great property with a large pool. You can spend the days wonderfully by the pool (comfortable loungers, pool bed, parasols, even Wi-Fi and Bluetooth speakers are available there). But also the tastefully furnished house with two terraces invites you to stay. Everything you need is also available there. The kitchen is very well equipped (e.g. also with a large fridge with a large ice compartment).
An infinite number of excursion destinations in Umbria and Tuscany are within easy reach of the holiday home, but there are also worthwhile destinations in the immediate vicinity that are often not even mentioned in the travel guide (e.g. Monte Santa Maria Tiberna, Montone, Citerna ...). And of course Città di Castello, which is still down-to-earth and not at all touristy.
But the hosts also contribute to a great holiday experience. Isabel and Giovanni are always available for questions and problems and give great tips.
We would love to come back again!

Wunderschönes Haus mit tollem Blick.

Es ist ein traumhaft schönes und individuelles Haus mit einem riesigen Grundstück. Die Aussicht von der Terrasse ins Tal ist einfach nur zum Genießen. Der Garten und die alte Ruine geben ein wunderschönes Bild und wir haben bis spät abends draußen gesessen und konnten gar nicht genug von diesem wunderschönen Panorama bekommen.

Das Haus ist in einem sehr gepflegten Zustand und die Bilder geben gar nicht richtig wieder, wie schön es dort ist. Selbst vom Pool aus, der ziemlich groß ist hat man einen tollen Blick und wir haben viel Zeit damit verbracht am Pool zu lesen und es uns gut gehen zu lassen. Wir waren mit einem befreundeten Ehepaar dort und konnten uns, wenn wir wollten auch wunderbar zurückziehen.

Alles war blitzsauber und die Küche ist mit allem ausgestattet was man braucht. Neben einer Cafetiera, gibt es eine Nespresso-Maschine und eine deutsche Kaffeemaschine. Die Kommunikation mit der Gastgeberin hat einwandfrei und schnell funktioniert. Wir haben uns jederzeit gut betreut gefühlt und Roberto hat uns Vorort am Meeting-Point getroffen und dann zum Haus gebracht und alles erklärt.

Die Umgebung rund um Citta di Castello und Umbertide hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Es ist dort ursprünglicher als in der Toscana und man hat den Eindruck unverfälschtes italienisches "dolce Vita" zu erleben. Wir hatten eine tolle und erholsame Zeit und können das Haus uneingeschränkt empfehlen! – Übrigens habe ich schon lange nicht mehr so gut geschlafen wie dort!

Great country-side house

The house is outstanding (!), very beautiful, large, comfortable. Host is very nice and available for every issue. The place is completly isolated and that is the great part of it, however, should be considered by those who plan on traveling around Umbria as the drive is a bit longer than from other places. Thank Issa for being there for us when needed and for the nice attitude.

Great accommodation in beautiful surroundings

Great holiday home on a spacious estate in an absolutely quiet and secluded location. If you are looking for peace and quiet, this is the place for you. The view over the woods and hills is beautiful. The house is well maintained and very comfortably furnished, nothing is missing. The pictures show everything 1:1. The pool is regularly maintained, even in the 2nd half of September an absolute enrichment. Worth mentioning is the tasteful illumination of the whole property in the evening hours. The landlady is easy to contact, the entire process is very uncomplicated. Excursions into the surrounding area are of course absolutely worthwhile in Umbria, most destinations are easily reached within an hour - also Tuscany (Arezzo, Cortona) or the Marches. Thank you very much for a very nice stay.

Wonderfully quiet location, no wishes left unfulfilled.

We wanted to spend our holidays with our children (11 and 13 years old) in the holiday home with pool and there were no wishes left unfulfilled. Although a bit remote, you are rewarded with a wonderful tranquillity and a great wide view of the countryside. That alone contributes to the relaxation. Everything is there for self-catering, the kitchen is well-equipped, there is a large barbecue, and the pool is well-maintained. And the photos of the house and garden speak for themselves. We booked again in summer. Only those who want to make a "quick" trip to Tuscany should not underestimate the journey times.

A very beautiful holiday home, pure nature & tranquillity!

This is the second time we have spent our holiday in this beautiful and large holiday home, and we really appreciate the beautiful landscape, the seclusion and tranquillity. Especially for families with children, this domicile is very suitable: Our son was overjoyed to be able to just run out of the house and romp around the large property at any time of day. We spent both our holidays here in autumn, actually already late autumn, so at a time when the temperatures are sometimes already quite low. But this made the evenings particularly cosy, because the central place to sit together is in front of the large fireplace, where the firewood crackles wonderfully and is beautiful to look at, and you can snuggle up with wine and nibbles in the cosy couches directly in front of it. The house is surrounded by dense forests, and the landscape is a dream - viewed from the windows, it looks almost surreal, like a painting... In fact, you can start hiking right from the house and then you could stroll forever through the endless, vast nature. We enjoyed our two stays very much and we will certainly come back. Many thanks again for the good and quick organisation for us spontaneous holidaymakers! :)

Even more beautiful than in the photos!

What a great house and what a wonderful environment! This house is in the middle of the forest, with a huge garden - perfect for our children to play, play soccer and set up tents. There is plenty to explore, but the biggest hit was of course the pool. For us adults as well - comfortable loungers for relaxed reading and a mega view down to the valley. And our 3 children were hardly able to get out of the water. There is a small diving board and we had an inflatable net with us.
The house is very tastefully and stylishly furnished and has plenty of space. We alternated between eating on the front terrace or on the large terrace at the back, depending on our mood and the time of day. We also went on some day trips, including to Assisi and Todi. You should definitely visit Gubbio. A perfect vacation!

We felt very comfortable in the rather remote house. The kitchen equipment was good. The rooms were equipped with very good mattresses.
The small bathroom is quite narrow and without windows. The large one, however, is luxurious.
The property is very large and with a large lawn, it invites you to play. Walks directly from the house into the beautiful forests of Umbria are possible. The pool with all the necessary interior to feel comfortable is great.
The landlady is always available as a contact person.

Super holiday home, very clean, lacking nothing in the facilities.
