The entire Bear Cabin (75 m2) with a pure living area of 65 m2 is at your disposal. The dog-friendly accommodation with carport is a sturdy small log cabin, with floors, walls, and a ceiling made of untreated spruce and larch wood and wood-aluminum windows.
2 bedrooms: 1 small bedroom with 2 single beds with a spacious built-in wardrobe, 1 small bedroom with double beds with a spacious built-in wardrobe. Living area with integrated kitchen: 1 large living room: 1 living room cabinet, 1 pull-out double couch, 2 couch stools, 1 glass coffee table, 1 flat-screen TV, 1 TV chair, central tiled stove with benches, dining table for 6 people, Wi-Fi, digital radio

Location and surroundings of object

The log cabin in a secluded location – south-facing slope – on the edge of the forest is located about 1 km outside of 3665 Bärnkopf – surrounded by a 4000 m² meadow and adjacent spruce forest. The Bärenhütte is the ideal starting point in summer for hiking, fishing, swimming, tennis, mushroom picking, and enjoying pure nature. In a few minutes by car – or 15–20 minutes on foot – you can reach the Schlesinger Pond (swimming – sunbathing lawn, children's paddling pool, fishing, beach volleyball in summer, and a beautiful circular hiking trail with instruction stations for physical exercise).
One of the many cross-country ski trails runs along the edge of our property in winter and connects our log cabin by ski with the town center and an extensive network of trails. Guided snowshoe hikes and horse-drawn sleigh rides are offered. We invite you to a nature/romantic holiday for up to 4 people (possibly 6 people on request). The health resort Bärnkopf is located in the center of Austria’s largest continuous forest area and, at 1000 meters above sea level, is the highest place in the Waldviertel. The hospitable village (350 inhabitants) is nestled in a beautiful landscape of forests and lakes, which is often lovingly called "Little Canada." It is the Eldorado for hikers, fishermen, mushroom pickers, and other nature lovers and seekers of peace in the summer.
In winter, Bärnkopf is known for its extensive network of cross-country ski trails, organized snowshoe hikes, and horse-drawn sleigh rides.
Inns invite you to linger. You will experience tasty home cooking, cozily furnished guest rooms, and a pleasant stay with hospitable people. A grocery store run by the village community offers everyday goods. Furthermore, there are: bicycle and cross-country ski rental. Tennis courts, curling, guided hiking and snowshoe hiking, lumberjack museum, bread baking, doll museum.

We have found that couples of all ages and guests with children and/or dogs feel especially comfortable with us. Our south-facing slope is a popular sledding hill for small children. Nature lovers seeking a romantic atmosphere are in the right place with us and are warmly welcome!

Pure relaxation

We had a wonderful weekend in their lovingly furnished bear hut!
The reception was extremely nice, there was Prosecco and a bottle of wine in the fridge, and the fireplace was preheated!
The furnishings were generous and the location beautiful! The perfect place to relax… wonderful nature all around with beautiful hiking trails and a dreamlike lake in the sunshine!

Vacation to relax

The Bear Cabin is a beautiful log cabin equipped with everything you need. We felt very comfortable here. The surroundings offer very nice paths for hiking or just walking. Our two four-legged friends also felt very comfortable. It is wonderfully quiet here, and you can recover from the stressful everyday life. The reception was very warm. Communication with the Steiner family was very friendly in all areas, and we felt very well taken care of. We will definitely not be here for the last time and are already looking forward to being guests in the beautiful Bear Lodge again. To fall in love

We are now here for the second time in the Bear's Cabin and will definitely not be the last. Idyllically located at the edge of the forest with plenty of sunshine, the cabin offers everything you need for a relaxing holiday. The kitchen is fully equipped, nothing is missing. In the living kitchen, there is a cozy dining area, a comfortable couch with a large screen. Wi-Fi, Netflix, Amazon Prime, everything is there.

The beds are equipped with thick mattresses, one sleeps wonderfully. Heating is done with a large and cozy ceramic stove, there is plenty of wood available. A dream!

Most beautiful vacation rental we've ever had.

The cottage is visually simply a dream. Built, furnished, and decorated with a lot of love. Nothing is lacking here. The equipment offers everything you could ever need on vacation. Especially the kitchen equipment leaves nothing to be desired. The reception service is unbeatably warm. We feel very, very comfortable here. The tiled stove makes the cabin atmosphere very cozy and pleasantly warm. Our children enjoy the large selection of games and the manageable distance to Tope. The location is insane. Right by the forest and so secluded that you are already set for relaxation immediately after arrival. The peace here is absolutely phenomenal. The neighbors are very nice and immediately invited our children to play. Countless hikes can be started directly from the cottage. The trails are well signposted and easily passable. The village can also be reached quickly on foot for shopping and dining options. The contact with the landlord is also very friendly and nice. If you want to enjoy nature in a beautiful, well-kept, and cozy accommodation on the edge of the forest, you should definitely come here. We can highly recommend the Bear's Hut. Our dog Happy is also welcome here and feels very comfortable.

PURE RECREATION

We spend a few days in the Bear's Cabin time and time again and every time it is a perfect and very relaxing vacation for both us and our dog. The Bear's Cabin offers everything you could wish for in a vacation - a perfect, peaceful location on the edge of the forest, everything is provided, you don't have to worry about anything. For those who love nature and tranquility, it's the ideal destination for hiking and mushroom picking, but there are also many interesting excursion destinations nearby. The care provided by the Steiner family is perfect, no question goes unanswered, and their tips are very helpful. We will definitely be back at the Bear's Cabin soon.

Recreation and leisure activities

The Bear's Hut is the ideal starting point for beautiful excursions in the most beautiful regions of the Waldviertel, but also offers a place of peace and contemplation if you just want to read a good book. In the Bear's Hut, you can let your soul dangle and simply do nothing until a sudden surge of energy leads you to new adventures!

The compactness of this vacation destination is a big plus that is not found everywhere!

Glorious fishing days at the Bear Hut

Hiking, fishing, and lazing around - wonderfully exciting and relaxing days in Bärnkopf at the Schlesinger Waldteich. We took over the cabin in a spotlessly clean condition, had coffee on the sun terrace, grilled our catch of fish in the garden, enjoyed a romantic dinner at the Schreiner Wirt in Laimbach, and slept wonderfully on the double box-spring mattresses. Thank you to the neighbors Haider for the kind invitation.

With pleasure again

Best holiday ever!!

A dream

We have stayed at the Bärenhütte a few times. The wonderful log cabin is very well equipped and the perfect starting point for activities with the children. Be it swimming at the Schlesinger pond, geocaching, mountain biking, hiking, picking blueberries, looking for mushrooms, model gliding, excursions to Altemelon, Repottenstein, Arbesbach, Lohnbachfälle, Höllfall, etc., etc., etc.
