After a hike in the vineyards or a bike tour, it is always worthwhile to fortify yourself with young wine and homemade food in a convivial atmosphere at the Heurigen. There are also nice restaurants, Heurigen music evenings, farmers' markets, the Marillenkirtag and attractive day trip destinations. The panorama of the terraced vineyards can be enjoyed on a boat trip along the Danube, while also going ashore for excursions.

A little house with a lot of comfort
Ingrid's garden house is located a bit off a little-trafficked road, right in the greenery. We stayed in this beautiful house for two weeks, and we lacked nothing! The furnishings are spacious, tasteful, and well thought out down to the last detail; there are even insect protection windows everywhere. You can sit comfortably in the living room, prepare meals in the fully equipped kitchen, and also have them – in nice weather, outside as well, garden furniture is ready. On the upper floor ("easy-to-use" staircase) there are two bedrooms with plenty of closet space as well as the bright bathroom (there is also a small toilet on the ground floor), a small writing area on the landing, and additional storage spaces. There is a washing machine and a clothesline next to the house. It takes about 10 minutes to drive to the Danube (Spitz), from here the Wachau begins with its diverse delights – simply great!

Wonderful 3 weeks in the Wachau
We were completely satisfied. Nothing was missing and any additional requests we had could be promptly sorted out. Therefore, three relaxed weeks away from the turbulent tourist spots, but easily accessible from Melk to Krems in a short time. Also, a beautiful hiking area with surprising discoveries, charming landscapes, and rare plants and animals for us "city dwellers" - we enjoyed our vacation!
Minus a tiny star because of the road above, which was a bit disturbing.
