Finally been to LAGO again

After spending our first summer holiday in 2019 in the small holiday home complex with lots of privacy a little above Belgirate on Lake Maggiore (a few kilometres away from Stresa) and feeling very comfortable there, we (a married couple with an adult son) were happy to stay there again in 07.2022, this time in a neighbouring holiday flat of our landlady within the complex. As we expected, there was nothing, but nothing at all wrong with the flat. It is perfect, high quality and fully equipped with all imaginable amenities for a successful self-catering holiday. The location with a breathtaking view of Lake Lago is convenient for beautiful excursions along the west coast of Lake Lago to the Swiss northern part of the lake to Ascona and Locarno, but also for a day trip to Milan. Our recommendation: take a leisurely boat trip across the lake (also to the east coast, e.g. to the hermitage of Santa Caterina del Sasso) as well as to Lake Orta (Isola San Giulio) or the bathing lake Lago di Mergozzo (village of Mergozzo); short distance from Belgirate. For cleanliness and service we also give 5 stars without reservation; the landlady and the friendly on-site manager, Alessandra, were available at all times and promptly for individual minor queries. The rental contract was handled correctly and without any complaints, the rental relationship was uncomplicated and trusting. We would certainly ask for this flat again and after our positive experience, we are happy to recommend it!

Beautiful

The flat is wonderful. Great view from the terrace, super equipment, lots of crockery and all the pots, knives etc. you could need. The location is very quiet, but you can still get to Stresa or Lesa in 10 minutes by car. A car is recommended.


The service by Yvonne and Alessandra is fast, very friendly and pleasant

Everything TOP and as described - a dreamy apartment with great views.

An apartment to arrive and feel comfortable all around!
In advance, we were well informed and then warmly welcomed by the landlady and Alessandra. The detailed information folder in the apartment answered all further questions perfectly.
Every morning there was a wonderful sunrise on the other side of the lake, in April we could already have breakfast daily on the terrace with a wide view over Lake Maggiore and enjoy the heavenly peace - a dream! The location of the apartment allows for many activities, the surrounding places are beautiful and offer plenty of culture, hiking, and shopping opportunities, such as at the lively markets of Upper Italy. The equipment and comfort are far above the average of Italian holiday apartments, it makes it to our TOP list. We really enjoyed the vacation and definitely want to come back. Fantastic vacation!

We were at Lake Maggiore for the first time, and apart from the beautiful landscape, the icing on the cake was the beautiful holiday apartment "Nido Sul Lago." From the first day of booking until the end of our vacation, Mrs. Nelissen-Ruesch took very care of us. When we arrived at the apartment, we were greeted on-site by Alessandra. She showed us everything so that no questions remained unanswered. The apartment is a dream - it truly lacks nothing and is just as beautiful as in the photos. Having breakfast on the terrace in the morning with a view of the lake - no words! So, what else is there to say other than that we can really recommend this holiday home without reservation and we will certainly not be there for the last time.

It doesn't get any better!

A fantastic view, tranquility, good facilities, absolutely clean. The pictures on the internet did not promise too much! In addition, a very nice contact with the landlady, what more could you want?

In our personal top list of holiday apartments used so far, a place in the top 3 is definitely guaranteed. We particularly appreciated the fact that the apartment is not visible from the other three units in the complex. So, in the end, you have the privacy of a detached holiday home.

Wunderschöne Wohnung

Once you have managed to climb the steep stair steps from the garage to the apartment, you will be rewarded with a dream view! The apartment is very well equipped and lovingly and tastefully furnished. The contact with the landlady Yvonne is very nice and uncomplicated. Dishes and kitchen appliances are plentiful, making cooking enjoyable. For golfers, the apartment is also interesting as there are two golf courses nearby. With good mobility, this apartment is highly recommended.

Wellness vacation

Overall, it was a great holiday for us. The nest above the lake was cozy and left nothing to be desired. Everything was lovingly furnished, and all needs were thought of. We haven't experienced such a beautiful and well-equipped vacation rental in a long time. It wasn't just a vacation rental for us but a shelter provided by dear people where we felt at home, with loving details and nice hints about the surroundings and activities, as well as other tips and advice. Thank you very much. It is not recommended to arrive without a vehicle, although we once walked from the train station after a hike from Stresa... phew, that was tough. Otherwise, the nearly 65 stairs are manageable, and the peace and the view of the lake make up for it. Overall, we were very satisfied and spent lovely days at Lago and in the nest. Thank you, Yvonne, and stay healthy.

Gelungene Ferien

The apartment met our expectations exactly and matched the description in the advertisement. The flat left nothing to be desired, was very nicely furnished, and not just equipped with the essentials. The view of Lake Maggiore is unique. Belgirate is an ideal starting point for excursions. The heavenly peace around was very pleasant. The drive by car to the apartment through some curves on a narrow road was unusual but not a major obstacle. Overall, we felt very comfortable here and had a lovely vacation that we will remember fondly.

very worthwhile

The house is very practical, fully equipped and cozy with a perfect view over the lake, located on the picturesque Piemont side of Lake Maggiore. The town of Belgirate is also a convenient location for excursions in the area.

The organization/correspondence beforehand, including the email for arrival with directions, and the telephone contact on site were very pleasant, and the wine as a welcome gift, and the introduction by the very friendly Alessandra left nothing to be desired. The folder and leaflets with valuable and meaningful tips provided in the house were very useful. We felt very comfortable! The homeowners Yvonne and Max have created a "nest above the lake" and were attentive and dedicated hosts from the beginning to check-out.

Highly recommended!

From the beautiful pictures and excellent reviews, we had high expectations beforehand - but "in reality" it was even MORE beautiful. . . ! We simply enjoyed everything: The breathtaking view of the lake, the peace and bird songs in the greenery around us, the very well-designed apartment equipped with every comfort - and of course, the many beautiful discoveries we made on our excursions: On foot to Monte Croce, by train (directly from Belgirate) to Milan, and by car along the lakeshore. We found Arona particularly beautiful for a city stroll, and at the small private beach of the Beachclub "LOV" in Stresa, we could not only endure but also enjoy 40 degrees Celsius! We highly recommend a trip to the opposite shore. It is best to go by car, as you can combine a visit to "Santa Caterina del Sasso" with a visit to "Villa Panza" in Varese. The villa itself and the surrounding park alone are worth the fairly long trip - in combination with the fantastic exhibition definitely our "cultural highlight"!

Super!!!

We would be happy to recommend this flat to others! We spent a wonderful holiday in this flat! The apartment is excellently equipped, very well maintained and cosy. The location and the view are perfect! The welcome from the landlady was very friendly and warm. The information folder in the flat was very detailed and helpful, and the restaurant recommendations were very helpful. The stairs to the flat are no problem at all! All in all, this is a place for a perfect holiday!

Satisfied all round, we will be happy to come again

Around 50 steps lead up to the house. The view of Lake Maggiore is fantastic! We already enjoyed the view in the morning at breakfast. The furnishings of the flat leave nothing to be desired. We felt very comfortable and enjoyed our holiday to the fullest. The communication with the landlady went smoothly, on site we were even called again if everything was okay and also with the nice lady on site everything went without problems with a few English skills. In just a few minutes by car you can be at the lake or in beautiful places not too far away. You can also reach a supermarket in 10-15 minutes by car. The nearby islands can be reached by a nice boat trip. All in all a great holiday, we would love to come back.

Look, marvel and enjoy - perfect!

The location of the flat is beautiful. You can always enjoy the view over Lake Maggiore with the changing light conditions. There are plenty of places to visit. Comprehensive documentation is available in the flat. The furnishings are functional, tasteful and left nothing to be desired. The flat is well suited for seniors, as long as there are no physical limitations. But as long as you can still manage three floors on foot, it's no problem. Special mention should also be made of the nice and uncomplicated manner of the landlady as well as the on-site manager
We would like to thank Mrs. Nelissen and Sra. Alessandra for the caring support. Everything was simply top.

Prospects want to be paid for

We enjoyed our stay in your flat very much, even though we had to climb the many stairs. But after a few days you get used to it.

And I saw the many furnishings and, for example, the toilet paper with completely different eyes.
The view has to be paid for :-)

They took great care of us, I have never experienced that before. Great!
Before arrival, a welcome email with all kinds of useful tips, a call to the flat to see if everything was OK. Short email before departure. That is a service.

The flat is tastefully furnished and you have the feeling of being the first user. Nothing is scuffed, scratched, the upholstery and cushions are tiptop. The bathroom is beautiful.

The view is great and the lake area is quiet. The view across to the mountains on Lake Como is great.

Unfortunately, you can't walk down to the village. Or only sporty people. Unfortunately, it's a steep climb back up. But for us it was ok. You get used to it.
I would go there again.

apartment with the most fabulous views of Lago Maggiore

Our memorable week in this lovely house situated so very high above the lake provided us with exceptional views of the lake whilst being centrally situated for access to the beautiful and interesting towns along the lakeshore although a car is essential - garage is provided. The birdsong is delightful and the serenity and peace of the location is wonderful.
The house is very well equipped, clean and comfortable with a magnificent terrace overlooking the lake and a beautiful little garden where we could BBQ.
Owners Yvonne and Max made sure our stay was relaxed and lacked for nothing.
We intend to return and is a week we would like to repeat.

Holiday apartment with stunning views.

The vacation rental is very well-equipped and offers every comfort. We slept wonderfully in the tower room, and the sunrise over the lake was fantastic. Our 79-year-old mother managed the many stairs well and felt very comfortable in the second bedroom on the ground floor. Everything has been thought of in the apartment; it is clear that the holiday guests should feel comfortable. We will gladly come back.

Feel-good oasis with fantastic views

The Nido sul Lago meets expectations just as they are awakened by the pictures. Very good care, excellent facilities, and a fantastic view of the lake every day, starting with the sunrise at six in the morning. It is a good starting point for various activities (e.g. a boat trip to the market) or for reading a good book in peace. The car (which is essential) is well-cooled in the garage, ready to drive comfortably in the evening for dinner to Belgirate, Stresa, or Arona (if it's not too big, our Captur was fine), or for shopping at the well-stocked supermarket in Lesa. Getting bread on foot is not really an option, you have to be prepared for that, as well as for the final steps up the stairs. But the great view is only to be had from up high. If anything could have bothered us, then it's the envious look at the pool that can be seen 50 meters below - but that's complaining on a high level.

Dream vacation at Lake Maggiore

It was a dream vacation. Experiencing Lake Maggiore is truly something special! Every day, we took a boat to a different location on Lake Maggiore, and in the evening, we returned to Stresa. The highlights were visiting the Borromean Islands! Highly recommended!
The view from the holiday home overlooking the lake is priceless!
However, having a car is essential. But we gladly accepted that.
The holiday home is excellent! Very beautiful and clean! We felt really comfortable there. In the house, you can find all the information you need during your stay and for organizing tours around Lake Maggiore. There were really no questions left unanswered!

Great apartment with fantastic view

The apartment exactly matches the pictures. Everything is very well-kept and very clean. The view of the lake is unforgettable. The landlords have thought of everything, we were also glad about a lot of information material about the area. In the morning on the balcony of the bedroom in the "tower," we enjoyed the bird chirping as well as the view of the greenery and the lake. The area around the apartment is very quiet. The 59 steps are not easy to handle in the heat and with luggage or shopping, but the view makes you forget the effort.
We thank Senora Alessandra and the landlady Yvonne for their care.
If we spend another holiday at Lake Maggiore, we will definitely come back to Nido sul Lago.

Relaxing at Lago Maggiore

Together with my wife and son (14) we have spend a week at lago Maggiore.
The apartment 'Nido sul Lago' is very well located. Stresa is a few minutes, Lago d'Orta and National Parc Val Grande and snowy mountain tops are close by.
The apartment itself is exceptionally clean, very well prepared and equiped. The view across the lake is great. This is by far the best maintained rental we have come across during our travels.
