Description

The villa is situated on a hill between Atsipopoulo and Castellos and was built in traditional Cretan style from solid stone. It has a magnificent view of the mountains and the sea, and is surrounded by a large plot with a beautiful Mediterranean garden.

The villa has 3 bedrooms with handmade beds, 2 bathrooms and a guest toilet. One bedroom with double bed and direct access to the bathroom with large sink and shower, as well as one bedroom with double bed and one bedroom with 2 single beds. The 2nd bathroom is accessed from the hallway and has 2 separate sinks and a shower.

The spacious living area is the heart of the villa, as an indescribable view of the sea spreads out from the entrance, which can be seen through the large panoramic windows. The high ceiling with wooden beams underlines the vastness and generosity, just like the 2 round arches that separate the living area from the kitchen and bedroom. The villa has been furnished with great attention to detail.

The fully equipped kitchen adjoins the spacious living area and creates the connection to the covered outdoor space.

Thus, luxurious living comfort is spread over 165sqm, where you don't have to do without anything.

The spacious outdoor area has 2 covered shaded areas, as well as a heated 4 x 8m pool plus a separate children's pool, all with sea view.

A sheltered outdoor shower is also available. Not only from the roof terrace you have a magnificent panoramic view of the mountains and the sea.

In the colder season and if the outside temperature and wind permit, the pool is heated to approx. 28°.

Location and surroundings of object

This dreamlike stone villa is located in the middle of Cretan nature, surrounded by olive and citrus trees as far as the eye can see. Watch the sun turn the sea and the sky red in the evening. Let your soul dangle while swimming, barbecuing or dreaming Atsipopoulo is located above the bay of Rethymnon. If you drive on the Old National Road from Rethymnon, you will come directly to Atsipopoulo. Many residents of Rethymnon have built their detached houses there, and numerous shops and other commercial enterprises have settled there. If you drive from Atsipopoulo to Prines, you will find the taverna "Giannikos" on the right-hand side, which also serves as a kafenion. This also includes the tables and chairs on the small, cosy village square right next to it, which is shaded by some large trees. Just opposite is the smaller of Prines' two mini-markets. The old village centre is behind the taverna "Giannikos". If you continue along the old national road for 100 m in the direction of Georgioupolis, you will see Antonis' taverna "The Olive" on the right-hand side. Here you can eat Greek dishes prepared by mum every day. Dad grills and Antonis serves. There is also a cosy morning pint here. Almost opposite is the larger of the two mini-markets and the local citizens' office. At the end of the village there is a petrol station on the right, a butcher's shop and a country store, and at the very end there is the cafe "Gesthimani" with a snack bar. The village of Atsipopoulo has almost all the shops you could wish for within easy reach.

Electricity is not included in the offer period from 07 November - 01 April. The kw costs 0,50 € extra.
The pool heating is not included. It costs extra per day by arrangement.

We are happy to help you book a rental car. The car will be handed over to you at the airport. You will be expected at the airport, there is no need to queue and wait anywhere. We take care of everything for you in advance. You can then leave the car at the airport.

Since the beginning of 2024, the Greek government has introduced an eco-tax. This is staggered by category and season:
The fee from March 1st - October 31st is €15.00/night per villa and from November 1st - February 29th it is €4.00/night, regardless of the number of guests.
The amount can be transferred to us before arrival, or with Visa or Master card.
