Restful vacation

Very nice holiday home
Good location - we could do everything by bike, quickly reach the beach or neighboring cities for sightseeing.
The car stayed parked during the holiday.
The house is well-equipped with a terrace.
A few more plates and glasses would be great so the dishwasher doesn't have to run as often.
Finally, a big thank you to our hosts.

Great house, very nice hosts.

We were here for the first time and very satisfied. The little house is lovingly furnished and very clean. The hosts welcomed us very warmly. We had a very pleasant week with great weather. Also charming were the chickens right by the house, and Muriel and John regularly supplied us with eggs. We will definitely come back.

Nice accommodation in a good location.

The holiday home offers everything necessary for a relaxing beach vacation. Good location, great facilities, and very nice landlords. We would definitely recommend the accommodation. As always in the Netherlands, the infrastructure for cyclists is very good in this area as well. Particularly noteworthy is the great view from the terrace of the chickens, which also always provide a fresh supply of eggs.

Holidays in a beautiful setting

We spent a very varied week with sun, rain, and wind in this lovely cottage. Nothing was missing, and the pleasant neighborhood with the nice hosts is particularly noteworthy. Many thanks to Muriël and John.

Super nice vacation rental

The cottage is located super in a quiet garden. Very private and quiet. Only 10 to 15 minutes walk to the beach. The owners are very nice, friendly and helpful. The house spacious and very clean. We only missed a few things for small children in the kitchen. We will definitely come here again.

It was wonderful for the 2nd time

We can only recommend the holiday home!!!! Muriel is a wonderful landlord.

We stayed there for one week in the summer of 2022 and two weeks in 2023 with our two young sons.

They were great vacations in a wonderful holiday home. Our 3-year-old loved feeding the chickens in the morning and evening. We will definitely come back!!!!

Super vacation

We stayed with Muriel and John for a week. Everything from booking to departure was great. The booking process took only a few hours. The arrival was very welcoming and everything you need in a vacation home was available. The fresh eggs and beautiful flowers in the house were great, as well as the pet chicken ?! We only moved our car once a week and did everything else by bike. We will definitely come back. Thank you very much.

Great holiday with chicken

Normally, you don't like it when the landlord's family lives on the same property
But here it's different...!

Because Muriël and John are as friendly as they are funny. At the same time reserved, but also always there when you need them. Perfect.

The latter was rarely necessary, as the house is really well equipped and you have everything you need for a perfect holiday. Including a shed for the bicycles and such.

Next to/behind the house there is access to the ponies on the neighbouring property.

The view from the terrace into the garden is beautiful and you are really invisible because of the plants

A highlight are the quite tame chickens living behind a fence in their own garden, which sometimes go for a walk and like to be spoiled with food. Our son has been a chicken fan ever since.
As an encore, the feathered friends naturally donated the breakfast eggs.

The location of the house is ideal, because it is only a few minutes to the beach, the cycle paths are almost around the corner and the nearest towns and cities can be reached quickly. Koudekerke is right between Vlissingen and Zoutelande.
Middelburg is not far away, nor are Westkapelle, Domburg and Oostkapelle

In the ruyter town of Vlissingen, don't miss a visit to the maritime muZEEum (with a view from the roof)
The Watersnoodmuseum in Ouwekerk is also highly recommended.
For travellers with children, the Berkenhof Tropical Zoo in Kwadendamme is a must (don't forget your swimming trunks). Of course you can also go without children

In short: the yellow house in Dishoekseweg offers peace and relaxation, nice animals and even nicer landlords and is an excellent starting point for all kinds of explorations of the beautiful island of Zeeland.

Thank you again for a great three weeks in the summer of 2021. We will be happy to come back.

Very nice holiday home and loving hosts.

We had a great time in Dishoek with Muriël and her family. Our daughter had a lot of fun with the chickens, which live right next to the terrace. Bicycles can be safely stored in the garage right at the house. It's a quick ride to the wonderful beach of Dishoek, and the other places are also easily accessible by bike. Thank you for the wonderful time and see you soon!

A wonderful week in Dishoek.

We had a very nice week at the holiday home of Muriël and John. The holiday home was equipped with all comforts for us and has a beautiful sunny terrace. The house is also located within a 15-minute walking distance from the beach. Above all, Muriël and John were very friendly and welcoming.

Ideaal vakantiehuisje

This year, we are going to this location for the seventh time, which says a lot about the quality. Every time we are warmly welcomed by the Verhage family. There are fresh flowers everywhere in the cottage, fresh eggs in the rack, and Zeeuwse boluses on the table. You immediately feel at home. It is clean, with good beds, and a south-facing terrace. We enjoy the peace and the chickens wandering around. It is very central, you can quickly reach Middelburg, Vlissingen, and Zoutelande by bike. There are also many cycling and hiking routes in the area. You can walk to the beautiful wide beach in 10 minutes and enjoy a stunning sunset. Tips: 1. Take the bike/foot ferry from Vlissingen to the fishing village of Breskens for delicious mussels. You can cycle along the entire coast of Zeeuws-Vlaanderen. 2. The medieval village of Veere is also very worthwhile. Overall, very suitable for a great vacation!

The ideal holiday destination in Zeeland.

For us, it is the ideal place in Zeeland. The location is beautiful and quiet. It has everything you need. Lovely surroundings. Pretty close to the beach. Restaurants, etc., also nearby. Good supermarkets nearby as well. It is a great starting point for beautiful bike or hiking tours.

Muriël and John are the owners of the house, together with their children, they provide great service without actually being present. Zeeland hospitality at its best.

It's not quite fair of us, as we've been there a few times already, so a bit biased, but for us it feels like home.

Definitely recommended for a fun week on the coast of Zeeland with the most beautiful beach and highest dunes. 5 out of 5 stars.

Great holiday home

We felt very comfortable in Muriël and John's beautiful holiday home. We prefer a rather quiet holiday accommodation away from the holiday parks. The cottage is ideal for this. Short distance by bike to the beach. Good shopping facilities in Vlissingen (Lidl) within 10 minutes by car. The holiday home corresponds to the description and the pictures. We were very happy about the fresh flowers, the eggs and the pastries. The highlight for the kids are of course the chickens and the cats. Our daughter loved feeding the chickens from her hand. Now she also wants chickens and a cat. (;)

Wonderful holiday home in a family atmosphere

The house is very cozy, clean, and tidy, equipped with high-quality amenities for everything you need (including for a toddler). The location is quiet and idyllic, and the highlight is especially the chickens on the terrace. The hosts are super friendly, helpful, and uncomplicated, and everything went smoothly, and our son also enjoyed playing with the children.
In about 30 minutes you can reach the city center by public transport. In 10 minutes, you can reach the beach and the small center of Dishoek. You can take great trips to the surrounding towns and beaches on the North Sea cycle path. We felt very comfortable and would love to come back sometime!

Great family vacation

Great hosts, the house has everything you need for a nice holiday.

The chickens delighted our son the whole time. The landlord's suggestion to visit "Hof Poppendamme" on a rainy day was spot on... We can only recommend it.

The path to the beach conveniently passes by an ice cream parlor and a Fish & Chips shop... The bicycle rental is within walking distance...

A successful vacation, we would come back!
