Forest Edge Country House

Delightfully spacious and well-equipped house

What a nice house this is! It is much more spacious than it appears in the pictures. Everything is available and you can easily walk into the forest behind the house with the dog. The fence and the garden are not much (if you have a larger dog), but it seems fine to sit in during the summer.

There is a lot of opportunity for hiking in the summer. The owner is particularly friendly, as is the (English speaking) caretaker.
When we were there, it was quite cold (with frost), and the heaters in the living room couldn't quite get warm enough. But with the fireplace, it was fine. The rest of the cottage is delightfully warm. Make sure to keep the heaters on at night during cold periods, otherwise they won't recharge. The heaters are charged with night-time electricity and if you turn them off, they won't recharge. The caretaker also explains this again.
Unfortunately, we decided to go home a day earlier due to expected snowfall (fortunately, the roads were very congested the next day), but we still had a wonderful week in this beautiful cottage!

Beautiful, cosy holiday home

We felt very comfortable in this house. It is well equipped and nicely furnished. Very nice for dog owners/hikes, the forest starts right behind the house. We didn't want for anything. Expectations far exceeded

Except for the obstruction of the view by bushes, the location is great, quiet, and the indoor and outdoor areas are easy to use. The furnishings are both functional and homely, making guests feel welcome immediately.
Bathrooms small, but very well equipped, including well-stocked soap dispensers. Kitchen small, but also very well stocked and a delight for hobby cooks.
Excellent location for beautiful, challenging hikes or city tours
A little tip for gourmets: Herrmann's in Rittersdorf was the icing on the cake of a wonderful week for us.

Simply dreamlike

Very nice and uncomplicated contact. The house is wonderful with the fireplace and in perfect peace so close to the forest. We could let the dogs run around in the fenced garden. Shopping facilities can be reached quickly by car. The kitchen left nothing to be desired, from plates to pots to a pad coffee maker and filter coffee maker, everything was there. It was definitely not the last time we stayed here. 2 bathrooms ensure that the morning routine is uncomplicated. The reservoir with its pedal boats is also a dream. The Eifelpark is also not far away. All in all, a great holiday. Thank you.

Cozy cottage at the edge of the forest

The house is located in a quiet area on a hill. The reservoir is not far and offers a great view.
I am used to partly having to bring many things like toilet paper, dish soap, dishwasher tabs, coffee, filters, etc. to holiday homes and had packed everything. However, everything was available in the house.
The house is comfortably furnished, has a small fenced garden, and a fireplace. We spent a few lovely days there and gladly recommend it.

Urlaub mit Hund

We enjoyed a few very nice days in the country house by the lake in Biersdorf. The weather was great, so we could go on beautiful hikes around the lake. Even our dog "RR" was exhausted afterwards. Lots to see and enjoy. Also perfect for jogging.
The house is very well-maintained and comfortably furnished, it lacks nothing, just like home. Highly recommended.

The house is very beautiful and comfortably furnished. Nothing is missing from the inventory.
The location on the hillside is very nice, you can start beautiful hikes from there.

Very nice, spacious holiday home near the reservoir lake.

The holiday home has a spacious living room with a fireplace and no less than 3 bedrooms. The kitchen and dining area are on the narrow side, but in good weather, you can sit outside on the large terrace with the barbecue.
The house is really well equipped. Especially the 2 bathrooms are ideal.
A small drawback is that the house is higher than the street and the car must be parked at the bottom. Then you have to climb a fairly steep staircase to the holiday home. This is not ideal if you have a lot and/or heavy luggage.

The holiday park is located near the reservoir, where you can walk or have a drink on the terrace. The pizzeria is highly recommended for good pizzas at a low price!

The Eifelpark is a must with small children! This park is a mix of a zoo and attractions and is ideal for young children.

We had a lovely week in the holiday home and enjoyed the surroundings. The nice weather also helped, of course :-)

Pure relaxation

I got to know a few holiday homes/resorts. I can only recommend the country house in Biersdorf. Bathroom/sanitary facilities are upmarket hotel standard, cleanliness impeccable. Kitchen facilities, Wi-Fi, living room: everything is upscale

Some people prefer upholstered furniture, the allergy sufferer appreciates chairs and sofa to wipe down. Curtains and bed in very clean condition. The friendly little things make the whole thing homely. The host has thought of the things you are guaranteed to forget: salt, pepper, sugar, napkins, candle.

All in all, a great rest in a well-kept house in really quiet surroundings. Thank you!

Even better ...

... as the first time, we really enjoyed ourselves this time at the country house at the edge of the forest. In addition to the great furnishings with all the bells and whistles, the superb location, and the unique view, the garden was also fenced in. This allowed our dog to be unsupervised at times. High-speed internet made the stay even more comfortable. We are already looking forward to the next holiday at the country house.

Top class

If you are looking for peace and relaxation, you are in the right place. The house is beautiful, it has everything your heart desires. Due to the garden fencing, our dog could be outside unsupervised. A new stereo/DVD system with CDs and DVDs for every music taste. The terrace is also very nice with a great view. Everything is optimal.

In May 2017, we spent two weeks at the country house by the edge of the forest. The house is easily accessible via a few steps from a dead-end street and is truly located right by the forest. Perfect for walks with or without a dog. The interior is in very good, modern condition and the amenities can be described as complete. We felt very comfortable throughout our stay and would gladly come back again.

Absolutely thrilled!

With three adults and a small dachshund, we had plenty of space in the house. Each had their own bedroom and two bathrooms... luxury! The house is high quality and tastefully furnished. The double bed with comfort height, the very good mattresses, and the absolute peace made it easy for us to sleep like in "Abraham's bosom". We really enjoyed the evenings by the open fireplace in the cozy living room with its beautiful decorations. We felt completely comfortable! This house with its beautiful, tasteful furnishings, the location, the view, the nature - you want to come back again and next time for sure longer than just over Christmas!

A beautiful, tastefully furnished holiday home in a very nice location above the lake. Ideal for hiking, relaxing, or discovering new things (e.g. Luxembourg Switzerland, Devil's Gorge, to name just a few). We really enjoyed it and it was definitely not the last time we vacationed here. The only drawback: Unfortunately, there is no possibility to buy groceries in Biersdorf itself.

Tolles Haus

A very beautiful...

Possibility to "slow down"!

The holiday home is in very good condition, very well maintained and offers everything you need. Two separate shower or bathtub bathrooms with daylight, three bedrooms equipped with differently sized wardrobes, shelves, and very good mattresses, as well as a very nice large living-dining area and a fully equipped kitchen allow for a wonderful retreat. Plus a terrace and the open fireplace, satellite TV, and even the option to wash and dry clothes - what more could you want.

The location above all other holiday homes and at the end of a cul-de-sac is great. The house is only connected to a forest and huge fields, which were a dream for the accompanying dog. No through traffic and a small well-maintained playground with equipment belonging to the holiday home complex complete the picture. For fireplace operation, it is recommended to purchase wood on-site, as it is bone-dry and also does not cause any sparks.

The view of the reservoir is great, and the quiet rustling of the weir adds even more vacation feeling. The village has a 3-star hotel with a restaurant, where there is also a very good bakery offering highly recommended cake specialties. Additionally, one can enjoy a high-quality brunch there on Sundays.

To Bitburg (about 25 km) with its great cafes and shopping opportunities you drive about 20 minutes by car. Driving about 10 km away takes just under 15 minutes, to Trier (approximately 45 km) about 45 minutes. Endless hiking trails can be found right outside the front door.

Unfortunately, we were only there for three days, but the mixed weather did not bother us in any way. And even though the satellite WiFi only worked intermittently, even the 12-year-old daughter was enthusiastic and wants to come back. That says something! :-)

Since the house is not barrier-free (stairs to the entrance area and 2 steps in the living/dining area), it is not suitable for people with mobility issues. E, only very limitedly recommended for people with limited mobility. Overall, a very good opportunity for relaxation, hiking, and "unwinding" - we enjoyed it very much!

The vacation house has a wonderful location on the Bitburger Reservoir with a view over the lake. It has a good room layout. We arrived as a group of three, and each had their own bedroom. We had a wonderful, unforgettable vacation with four women and our furry companions. The house offers everything one could wish for. It is tastefully decorated and easy to maintain. Living and sleeping areas are nicely separated, bathrooms in top condition. The kitchen has everything you need, it feels like home! The dining room right next to the kitchen is also very cozy, where you can indulge to your heart's content!!! The forest is also great, it starts right behind the house and from there you can go on the most delightful hikes. We can highly recommend the holiday home and the nice landlords, the Rüller family, and look forward to the next vacation we will spend there!!!
