Description
Casa Peonia is a holiday home situated below Montecarlo on the Lucca side. You can walk up to the village via small side paths. There is a small grocery shop and a pizzeria within walking distance.
The end terraced house is situated in a quiet one-way street with a view of the vineyards of Montecarlo and the medieval village.
Casa Peonia extends over three floors. On the ground floor there is the living room, the fully equipped kitchen, a balcony, a small bathroom and the laundry room. On the first floor there are 2 double bedrooms, a bathroom with shower and bath, a bedroom with bunk beds and a small balcony with wonderful views over the pool and the vineyards. On the lower floor is the cool taverna, where there is a room with a 1.20 metre wide sofa bed and a room with a fireplace and dining table.
From the tavern there is access to the rear terrace and the garden. A large dining table with barbecue is available to guests and the pool (3×5 m) is private. The pool is above ground, but the garden is laid out on two levels so that you can access the pool directly from one side. From there you have a breathtaking view over the vineyards. There is a private car park for guests in the fully fenced garden.
Casa Peonia is the perfect holiday home for those who want to explore Tuscany but also want to relax in the tranquillity of the Tuscan countryside and live the real Italian life.

Location and surroundings of object
We are between the Valdinievole and the plain of Lucca in the heart of medieval Tuscany, where the border of three cities ran: Lucca, Pisa and Florence.
Montecarlo was once called Vivinaia, an ancient village that belonged to the Dukes of Tuscia (Duchy of Lucca).
In 1331, the town was destroyed by Florence and the lords of Lucca decided to rebuild it on the hill, which was overgrown with oak trees

Pescia is a small town of medieval origins, located in the province of Pistoia on the border with that of Lucca. In fact, historically it has always been disputed between Lucca and Florence, sometimes even Pisa.
Pescia is a little underrated Tuscan gem!
