Description
Our small thatched holiday home in Born on the Darß is looking forward to nice guests who love peace and nature
We have furnished the cottage in the living area with sofa, table, TV, radio, books and many pictures, the dining area with table and beautiful chairs, nostalgic crockery cupboard. The kitchenette has a ceramic hob with 2 cookers, fridge with freezer compartment, sink, coffee maker, kettle and all the utensils you need for self-catering for two people. There is a floor-level shower in the bathroom. There is a double bed on the sleeping loft, which can be reached via a few steps and a staircase (see photo taken with "fish eye"). The large window, which can be opened wide or tilted, brings fresh air and allows a beautiful view.
On the sunny terrace, which is protected by a fence and hedges, you can relax, read and dream after a swim in the Baltic Sea, a bike ride or a walk on the beach. Comfortable garden furniture is ready for an outdoor breakfast with bread rolls from the bakery just across the street.
It is about 150m from the property to the Bodden. To the endless Baltic Sea beach you can cycle traditionally through the fairytale Darss forest in about 15 minutes. It is quicker to drive to one of the beach car parks.

Location and surroundings of object
Hidden behind blossoming roses and bushes, our small cottage is located in the quiet village of Born on the Darß, about 150 metres from the Bodden. Born is idyllically situated along the water between the Bodden, the Baltic Sea and the forest. The many small thatched seafarers' houses with their colourful carved entrance doors and ornate gable boards, the pretty, well-tended front gardens give the village a picturesque appearance
Born has retained its originality. The clocks seem to run slower here. People live without haste, calmly and quietly. You too will certainly feel the restful, peaceful atmosphere of this other world.
Restaurants and cafes, the small harbour with excursion boats, the ship's church, galleries are only a few minutes' walk from the holiday home. The Baltic Sea with its clear water and the beach with its light-coloured sand can be reached traditionally by bicycle through the enchanted Darßwald forest in about 15 minutes, or it is quicker by car to the Borner beach car park.

sweet little accommodation
We can highly recommend this accommodation! It has everything you need, the small garden is well shielded by the hedges, and you can sit comfortably in the garden. A good starting point for bike tours. The bakery directly across is also very cozy and recommended. We had a great time and would love to come back!

A beautiful charming little house
We had a wonderful vacation again in this small oasis of tranquility. One immediately immerses oneself in a nostalgic island world. The captain's house has everything necessary for 2 people - nothing is missing. What we particularly like is a bakery about 50m away with fresh baked goods.
Many thanks to the very nice landlords, who are always reachable by phone.
We would love to come back and can wholeheartedly recommend this house.

We will be back!
We spent a few wonderful days on holiday in the cosy Stuerbord Katen. Nothing was missing. Especially worth mentioning is the beautiful sheltered terrace with the morning smell of freshly baked rolls from the bakery opposite. We liked it so much that we decided to come back next year.

Pure relaxation
After spending wonderful holidays in the Backbord-Katen, we - two of us with our dog Filou - were now looking forward to Stuerbord-Katen: We were not disappointed!
A wonderful little holiday retreat with everything you need for a relaxing holiday and (!) the finer points that make you enjoy being in this very place.
Via a narrow staircase you climb up to the cosy bunk under the thatched pointed roof. Through the mosquito-protected window, the view sweeps over the meadow and the path that leads to the Bodden on a short walk. In the little garden, protected by a hedge, you can sit under a parasol and daydream or taste the fine marzipan cake from the bakery opposite. The sea with its wonderful beach is not far away and easily accessible by bike or car. And if you want to discover something new for body and soul, there are plenty of opportunities to do so in the immediate vicinity.
