De Krim, the most beautiful holiday park on Texel!
For your holiday on Texel, you've come to the right place at holiday park De Krim, in the north of Texel near the lighthouse. We offer, among other things, an indoor swimming pool, an outdoor swimming pool, several restaurants, bowling alleys, mini golf courses, a children's play paradise, a cool outdoor playground, a theatre, a supermarket and an attractive recreational programme.
The bungalow is located on the outer edge of the holiday parks, with direct access to the cycling and walking paths to the beach, among other things. The centre of the holiday park is a 5-minute walk away. At the northern tip of Texel, near the lighthouse, lies De Cocksdorp. There is a real holiday atmosphere in the youngest village on the island. Tourists from the neighbouring holiday parks like to visit the many restaurants and shops in Kikkertstraat. From the dike just outside De Cocksdorp you have an excellent view over the Wadden Sea.
The youngest village
De Cocksdorp in the north is the youngest village on Texel. The village was established in 1835 at the small harbour located where the Roggesloot flows into the Eierlandse Gat.
De Cocksdorp
De Cocksdorp was initially called Nieuwdorp, but was named after de Cock a few months later. De Cock was an Antwerp shipowner who moved to Rotterdam during the deskerk de cocksdorp Belgian uprising (1830 - 1839) and who, together with others, founded the 'Sociëteit van Eigendom van Eierland' (roughly: 'Society of the Property of Eierland'). This association of enterprising gentlemen bought the dike foreland east of the Zanddijk between the 'old land' and the island of Eijerland from the state in 1835. With the help of 1,500 workers, they built an eleven-kilometre long dike in the very short time of twenty weeks, thereby diking the 'buitenveld', a mudflat area partly overgrown with salt plants, now known as the Eierlandse Polder.
Natural areas and monuments near De Cocksdorp
De Cocksdorp is the northernmost village on the island and is surrounded by the nature areas De Krim, De Slufter and the Eierlandse Dunes. In addition to various places in the village itself, tourists can also go to one of the holiday parks that are just a stone's throw away from De Cocksdorp.
The village has six entries in the national register of monuments, of which the Eierland lighthouse is the best known. This stands about three kilometres north of De Cocksdorp, from where there is a magnificent view over the neighbouring Wadden Sea island of Vlieland. In addition, several farms, dwellings and two churches in and around De Cocksdorp are on the national register of monuments.
Activities and events
During the months of July and August, De Cocksdorp hosts ring-stealing competitions and every Thursday there is the 'Durper Market'. During the holiday season you can take a ride on the authentic Texel horse-drawn tram. On this ride, the coachman will tell you all about the origins of De Cocksdorp and the surrounding area. The Waddenkerk in De Cocksdorp is regularly open to visitors.

Everything you need for a week with a dog and bikes.
We have just returned and want to briefly say that we really enjoyed our stay in your house and on Texel in general. The house is very well equipped, there is nothing missing, for example, if you - like us - mostly cook for yourself. Of course, the stairs are much too steep and not suitable for small children, unsure people, and dogs. But such stairs can be found in many Dutch holiday homes - so nothing exceptionally negative. Otherwise: Everything was well organized - both by you as the landlord and by the De Krim holiday park. Initially, we had a problem fitting our e-bikes in the annex, but with some trial and error, we managed to do it. Only our dog trailer simply didn't fit anymore.
The garden is completely fenced, a huge advantage when traveling with a dog. Location: Great starting point for extensive bike rides and walks through the bird-rich dune area. The island's cycling network is fantastic. We deduct points for value for money because we generally feel that the prices for holiday homes in the Netherlands are simply too high.

Spiral staircase: Takes some getting used to, dangerous for children. The kitchen is missing 2 thermos flasks (for tea and coffee). The toilets are too low, the bathtub is very slippery, even when showering. It would be better not to wrap the bed linen in plastic as it smells afterwards. Fly screens on both doors would be good. Attach descriptions for appliances in a folder. Maybe renew the windows.

Hallo Zusammen,
wir haben mittlerweile das Mobiliar komplett ausgetauscht (Bilder folgen), ein neues Kombigerät Waschmaschine/ Trockner angeschafft.
Zudem gibt es nun Smart-TV und somit sind sämtliche Sender sowie Neteflix etc. verfügbar.
Der Backofen wird bis Ende März ebenfalls eingebaut sein.
