Description
The house Muschelgiebel is lovingly furnished and combines comfort with historical elements. The 4 bedrooms are tastefully and individually furnished (two single and two double). There are 2 new bathrooms and a living room located in the so-called Upkamer. Here the original wooden floorboards have been restored and, together with the refurbished East Frisian sofa and the wine-red chaise longue, radiate stylish cosiness. From the kitchen-living room, you look across the courtyard-like terrace to the impressively lush perennial garden and the neighbouring windmill wings.
The old fisherman's house in the centre of Ditzum with its sloping walls and white wooden beams is just as suitable for families as it is for those who want to get away from it all for a few days as a couple or with friends. It offers enough space for a maximum of 6 people.

Location and surroundings of object
Haus Muschelgiebel is in an absolutely quiet location in the middle of the old town centre. The harbour is less than 5 minutes away on foot. There are restaurants and cafes in the immediate vicinity. The supermarket is just a few minutes' walk away. A beautiful small but very lush perennial garden with a terrace belongs to the house Muschelgiebel. Ditzum is an old fishing village situated at the mouth of the Ems. Here you can still find traditional fishing boats sailing out onto the Dollart and into the North Sea. Red brick houses characterise the cosy village, which is run as a recognised health resort. Restaurants, cafes, small alleys and a relaxed atmosphere are all part of a stay in Ditzum. Here you can cycle, let the wind blow around your nose on the dyke or paddle a canoe across the canals that criss-cross the wide pasture landscape.

| The minimum stay is 4 nights, the price is for 3 persons per night, each additional person costs 10 euros per night. Children up to 3 years are our guests free of charge. The price includes bed linen, towels and various consumables. Please note: In the period from 01.06. to 31.08. of a year as well as over Christmas and New Year we only rent by the week. Well-behaved dogs are welcome guests, for them we charge a flat rate of 50,- Euro. The municipality of Jemgum charges a guest contribution of 1,- Euro per night and person, in the period from 01.06. to 31.08. the contribution is 1,50 Euro per night and person. |

Arrive and feel at home
We had a super week in this really beautiful and cosy house. Apart from a very nice and warm welcome on our arrival and an extensive "introduction", the house convinces with the beautiful garden and the lovely furnishing of each room. The kitchen is well equipped (microwave, dishwasher, Saeco coffee machine). It is also nice to be able to fall back on wine if necessary, should the Edeka market, which is within walking distance, be closed. It is really lovely that a postcard, already stamped, was provided for the loved ones at home.
The village of Ditzum is certainly small (so not for party animals), but very cosy. Three ferries start near the litter, the "Lüttje Cafe" - diagonally opposite the house - invites you with wonderful cakes and homemade pies. The cuisine of the three restaurants in the village is excellent. We were lucky to have a market in the village, which offered really nice things over the weekend - spread out in the streets.
If you want to "criticise", you can criticise the bikes provided by the house (piece 4), which are not convincing (partly worn tyres, i.e. no tread). We then rented our bikes from the bike rental company opposite Oldenburg LB, who were very friendly by the way.
In short: a great week; we will definitely be back. A big thank you to the hosts and many greetings from the three of us....
