Our newly built house Ostseestrand was rented out all year round for the first time in the 2013 season!
At the entrance to the Schaabe, a headland between the Jasmund and Wittow peninsulas, our reed house is situated in a perfect south-facing position on a slight hill directly on the edge of the forest. Surrounded by water on three sides and only 800 metres from the Baltic Sea, you can literally smell the sea.
House description:
You enter the ground floor through a spacious hallway, which is adjoined by the utility room, the guest bathroom with sauna and separate WC, and the living area with dining room, kitchen and a seating area with TV set. The cosy wood-burning stove and the tasteful furnishings made of solid teak furniture make for comfortable hours.
The spacious and light-flooded living area with open kitchen on the ground floor measures more than 50m².
Upstairs there are four bedrooms with eight beds and plenty of space for families or couples travelling together.
Two bathrooms (on the ground and upper floors) with floor-level showers and a bathtub ensure that there is no congestion in the morning. On the ground floor you will also find a separate toilet and the Finnish sauna.
The kitchen equipment with granite worktop, dishwasher, microwave, many electrical appliances and spacious freezer leaves nothing to be desired
For the anglers among the guests, there is a second freezer and a hygienic filleting table with stainless steel work surface in the garden house.
Books, satellite TV with Blue-Ray player and surround sound, DVDs and games are available for entertainment
You can relax in peace on the terrace or in the beach chair while our little guests explore the spacious garden with direct access to the forest or build their castles in the real Baltic Sea sand of the large sand play area
The house radiates tranquillity with its maritime flair and its location on the edge of the forest guarantees relaxation away from daytime tourism.

Property:
The 1300m² plot in perfect southern exposure and with direct forest connection is a paradise for big and small guests. The plot, situated on the southern edge of the settlement on a slight hill, is at the end of a dead-end street with little traffic, so quiet that in the early morning hours you will get a visit from game from the surrounding forests in the garden.
Your children can play in safety or explore the forest while you enjoy the sunny location of our garden. Unusual for holiday home areas is above all the spacious and open location of the property by the forest with only two direct neighbours
There are two parking spaces for your cars on the property and a small timbered house next to the house for storing your bicycles or sports equipment. On the south terrace of the house you have direct sun all day and can enjoy the sunsets over our neighbouring island Hiddensee in the evening.
Ground floor:
You enter the ground floor through the spacious hallway with direct access to the over 50m² south-facing living and dining area. The light-flooded living area is connected to the terrace and the garden via five large French doors, so that the outdoor area with the garden furniture appears to be part of the flat in good weather.
In the living room itself, tasteful furnishings made of solid teak furniture in traditional shapes conjure up a tranquil atmosphere. In addition to a heavy teak table for eight and a sideboard in the eastern part, there is a cosy upholstered seating area with two recamiers at the western end of the room for relaxing in front of the fire
In the bookcase you will find literature, parlour games and music recordings. Those looking for exciting entertainment can enjoy a film from our video collection or high-definition television on the home cinema system. With the 42-inch HD LED flat screen and Blue Ray player with surround sound, you are technically up to date.
Also on the ground floor, you will find a second shower room with separate guest toilet as well as the Finnish sauna, which can of course be used without restriction and free of charge.
Upper floor:
A beechwood staircase leads to the gallery on the upper floor. From the hallway with round-arched window and reading area, you enter the bathroom with double washbasin, floor-level shower and bathtub, as well as two bedrooms with double beds and two further bedrooms with single beds
All beds are equipped with spring wood frames with adjustable head and foot sections and adjustable firmness. The brand mattresses with test seal are medium-hard and have a summer and winter side.

Location and surroundings of object
The holiday home is located away from the busy town centre on a slight hill on the outskirts of Glowe. Our spacious forest plot in absolute southern exposure guarantees the necessary peace and privacy for a relaxing holiday. Nevertheless, you have the longest sandy beach of the island as well as all facilities, shops and restaurants of the holiday resort Glowe within walking distance and you do not have to do without the fresh bread rolls from the bakery. You can relax in Glowe at any time of the year. In summer and early autumn, the nearby Baltic Sea invites you to swim. The unique, unspoilt sandy beach of the Schaabe and the magnificent pine forests stretching from the Baltic Sea beach to the Bodden make for adventurous hikes at any time of year. Well-developed cycle paths to the nearby Jasmund National Park, the chalk coast, Cape Arkona and other sights of the island allow for active recreation. The unique landscape of the island of Rügen and the charm of its nature create unforgettable impressions, not only for nature lovers and those interested in culture.
Glowe is located directly on the fine sandy beach of Tromper Wiek with a view of the lighthouses at Cape Arkona. There is a beach promenade with a spa square and a newly laid-out spa park with a large play area for children. In addition to some nice cafés and restaurants, Glowe offers several shops, a large supermarket, fish smokehouses and stalls with fresh fruit and vegetables within walking distance of our holiday home, so you are well catered for even without a car.

| Arrival and departure is preferably on Saturday. In order to make it possible for small groups to rent, our basic prices apply to an occupancy of 4 holiday guests. Each additional person is charged € 10 per day. Cots, high chairs and a stair gate are included in the rental price as well as the unlimited use of sauna, washing machine, tumble dryer, internet access via WLAN and telephone use. Our house management usually takes care of the thorough cleaning of the house for you (costs: 150 EUR). Your electricity consumption will be charged at cost price (0,35 EUR/KWH) according to the meter reading. When you sign the rental contract, we charge a deposit of 300 EUR. This will be refunded by us immediately after your departure minus electricity costs. |

Wonderfully located thatched roof house with exceptional amenities.
Thank you very much for the wonderful vacation in your truly exceptional holiday home! Everywhere in the house, one can feel the attention to detail and artistic sensitivity with which the furnishings were chosen. The house never seems overloaded, and the carefully selected decorations, in combination with the solid teak furniture, create a wonderful lightness in the light-filled rooms. This continues in the undoubtedly most beautiful garden in the whole holiday home complex. The area with typical head willows, silver pines, sea buckthorn, and many wild roses that are characteristic of Rügen is a feast for the eyes and seamlessly merges into the adjacent forests. In such a harmonious environment, one simply has to find peace. The "highlight" for our little ones was the large sand play area designed with ice-aged boulders. We also particularly liked your house's equipment with many little everyday essentials, especially in the kitchen. In other holiday homes, our vacation usually started with a large shopping trip for the kitchen and bathrooms. Here, we only needed a few groceries and already felt at home. Everywhere you can feel that this house was equipped with a lot of passion, joy, and good taste. We hope that all your guests appreciate this and that this gem will remain preserved for a long time. Vicinity of the holiday home: Sehr ruhige Lage direkt am Wald. Trotzdem ist das Ortszentrum mit Restaurants, Geschäften und dem Hauptstrand nur einen kurzen Spaziergang entfernt.
free time activities: In Glowe beginnt der schönste, 12 Km lange, Sandstrand der Insel. Die Natur ist einfach grandios: riesige Wälder und herrliche Uferwege an den Küsten bieten sich für Wanderungen oder Radtouren an. Die Kreideküste, die Unesco Welterbe Buchenwälder der Stubnitz, das Kap Arkona und unzähliche kleine und große Sehenswürdigkeiten lassen keine Langeweile aufkommen.
shopping facilities: In ca. 600 Meter Entfernung gibt es einen großen Supermarkt, Obst- und Gemüsehändler, Bäckerei, Fischverkauf und -Imbiss, Getränkemarkt und vieles mehr. Tankstellen, Banken und kleinere Kaufhäuser findet man in den Nachbarorten.
