The Old Forester’s House Ruswase is located directly at the edge of the beech forest in the Jasmund National Park (UNESCO World Natural Heritage). This location not only invites you to take extensive walks, for example to the nearby chalk cliffs or the Königsstuhl, but also allows you to experience new adventures in nature every day.
Our 65m² holiday apartment was lovingly renovated in 2019 with great attention to detail. The heart of the apartment is the spacious, light-filled living and dining area. Whether for a leisurely breakfast, a cozy evening of reading or games, or conversations over a glass of wine – this room leaves nothing to be desired and immediately gives you the feeling of having arrived.
The unique secluded location in the forest makes your stay a true nature experience. Here you are not just at the national park, you are right in the middle of it. The window becomes your own personal nature cinema: as the property borders directly on the protected zone, you can regularly observe wild animals such as fallow deer in their natural environment directly from the dining table.
The kitchen is equipped with a dishwasher, a coffee machine, a kettle, and a toaster. The apartment has a flat-screen TV with satellite connection, and there is a vacuum cleaner in the hallway that all guests can use. If needed, a travel crib including mattress and a high chair for small children can be provided.
In addition to the apartment, the large garden property is also at your disposal; in the sunny garden you will find rest and relaxation. Children have space to play and romp on the 2000 m² property. The location guarantees peace and closeness to untouched nature.

The location of the Old Forester’s House impresses with its unique closeness to nature and its proximity to the Königsstuhl, the chalk cliffs directly in Jasmund National Park. Here, constant experiences of nature are an integral part and are virtually included.
The nearby town of Sassnitz, with its original old town center and lively harbor, is only 5 km away. Here you will find several restaurants and many shopping opportunities. In Sagard, also about 5 km away, you will find the adventure world “Splash” with a thermal bath and an indoor playground.
Note on getting to the Old Forester’s House in Rusewase: The old cobblestone road in Jasmund National Park, which leads from the Old Forester’s House through the Jasmund National Park to Stubbenkammerstraße, is unfortunately poorly maintained by the municipality and has road damage (potholes). It should be driven slowly and carefully, and in a staggered manner, as the cobblestones are slightly higher in the middle of the road than at the edge. We do not recommend this “official” access route due to its condition. We recommend first driving towards Sassnitz and then, shortly before entering the town, turning left (Lidl market). After that, drive via Lancken station to Dargast and finally to Rusewase.
