Misleading - NOT recommended
We arrived at 20:00 and by 23:00 we had repacked and left to drive back to Vienna. We literally cancelled the vacation, and lost the money (with added rudeness)
There is a certain type of expectation for a location such as this, which is lived in, this property under delivered.
The house was clearly not prepared for booked guests since no one had bothered to air it out. We were welcomed by a musty smell typical for old houses in which no one had opened a window in days.
The only information welcoming you is a list of which garbage containers to use.
The renovated bathroom was nice, except we couldn’t figure out whether the dumped pile of towels on the windowsill were clean and left for us or just forgotten.
There is a working router but no information on how to use it, and a working television with no way to connect.
In a property used by the owners when not rented, it is customary that a specific place in the fridge be cleaned out for the use of the guests. It’s uncomfortable to have to move around someone else’s open package of butter and tipped over mustard, just to place your shopping in the fridge. The same goes for the use any of the kitchen cabinets for storing food.
The place is advertised as suitable for seniors, and we came with my 83 year old parents. When we arrived we found that the double bed was actually 90cm high - meaning my parents would need a stepping stool (we couldn’t find any) to get onto the bed. That might be possible for going to sleep, but not for going to the bathroom at night.
We were 5 people and expected to use two bedrooms, and specifically not use an uncomfortable pull out sofa (especially after seeing the stains). Instead we stood around trying to figure out sleeping arrangements and finally chose to leave the same night.
The ‘garden’ spaced looked like it would be nice, however we found no lighting.
The pictures inside and out are completely misleading, probably too old, many areas outside look neglected.
We are renting out our weekend house here. Originally, it was an old farmhouse, which we renovated over the course of 10 years with painstaking weekend work. In front of the house, there is a large sun terrace. The yard is enclosed and not visible from outside, ideal for small children. There is a table tennis table and two small soccer goals. At the back of the garden, there is a barrel sauna, a campfire site, and a large swimming pond.
