Discover the Rock House - Casa das Rochas, (Rochas = rocks in Portuguese), a charming holiday home near Tavira,
perfect for couples/1 toddler looking for a tranquil getaway.
This nature-close, colorful residence offers 85 sqm of space spread over two levels, separated only by two flat steps, with an integrated double bed, a sofa bed, and a separate, beautiful marble bathroom.
The beds have mosquito nets and additional fans. The vacation home is distinguished by colorful, vibrant furnishings.
The double bed is equipped with a good mattress and soft bed linens that invite you to dream.
The marble bathroom includes, besides a toilet and bidet, a sink and a sitting bathtub with a shower for relaxing moments.
In the living area, a fireplace provides cozy evenings, while the air conditioning ensures pleasant coolness on hot days. There is room for clothes and a desk.
The kitchen is equipped with some modern amenities such as a microwave, kettle, orange juicer, and coffee machine that you will need for preparing your meals.

Outside, the garden with a terrace next to the dining area and sun loungers invites you to relax and the barbeque area adjoining the kitchen can provide additional enjoyment, e.g., of grilled fish. Take a refreshing bath in the swimming pool or enjoy the sun on the terrace, which is equipped with comfortable garden furniture.
Additional amenities such as a television, washing machine, iron, and hairdryer make your stay even more comfortable.
For guests with small children, there can be a bed behind a rock nose or a crib and high chair are available. The entire house offers an allergy-friendly environment, of course only if you know what you are allergic to, and free WiFi, so you can stay connected during your stay.

Casa das Rochas is one of four holiday homes on our estate named Quinta da Arte.
Quinta da Arte is located about 10 km from the clean and tamed Atlantic of the Eastern Algarve, the tastefully restored and very charming
Renaissance city of Tavira, one of the most beautiful places in the Algarve, and only 3 km from the nearest small village Santa Catarina da Fonte do Bispo. The estate is completely surrounded by nature, with olive, carob, and orange tree plantations and the sea, which can be seen glittering on the horizon.
Quinta da Arte is located in Sotavento, the southeastern coast of the Algarve, a coastal landscape with miles of sandy beaches and sandbanks, to which small fishing boats carry people. A small train takes you directly to the beach of Barril, 10 km away. The nearest shopping center is located in the small village of Santa Catarina da Fonte do Bispo, about 3 km away.
Here, there is a small local market with fresh fruit, vegetables, fish, and meat, as well as cafes, a restaurant, and a pharmacy.
Cozy, local restaurants are nearby, providing a tasty experience with their cuisine.
The charming 150-year-old Renaissance city of Tavira is just 9 kilometers away and can be reached via beautiful country roads. Faro, the airport city with a well-preserved old center, with beautiful old streets and churches, is only 20 km away. You can reach us in 30 minutes by rental car. The most beautiful golf courses in Europe, such as Quinta do Lago and Vale do Lobe are only a 45-minute drive away and a very beautiful one is near Tavira—Benamor Golf. Seville can be reached in 2 hours by car and is worth a day trip, especially in the spring and autumn months. I am happy to tell you about all our wonderful places and their insider tips.

The heaven on earth
After we found the exact location, we arrived at a beautiful estate with original buildings. We became part of nature. Our friendly hostess made us feel at home in our accommodation. Enough space, sufficient kitchenware, etc. We stayed for 2 weeks at this unique location. We had beautiful weather and the pool could still be used. With some reluctance, we departed for our next location. Thank you, Heidi and Johannes, for allowing us to enjoy your "wealth."

Es war schoen fuer mich als Gastgeberin zu erleben, dass Ihr Casa das Rochas, das freundliche gemuetliche und farbenfrohe Haus in Mitten der Natur in Euer Herz geschlossen habt um nach Euren taeglichen Ausflugen in unser so schoenes Umland mit seinen weiten,tollen Straenden und dem sauberen Meer z.B. gerne wieder nach Hause zurueck gekehrt seid.Das warme Herbst Wetter erlaubte s uns allen noch in den Pool zu huepfen und uns in der Sonne aufzuwaermen.

Oh, wat een prachtige woorden u heeft gevonden om uw vakantie in ons kleine paradijs aan de oostkust van de Algarve te beschrijven. Daarvoor wil ik u hartelijk bedanken.
Als gastvrouw vond ik het geweldig om te zien dat jullie Casa das Rochas, het vriendelijke, gezellige en kleurrijke huis midden in de natuur, in jullie hart hebben gesloten en dat jullie na jullie dagelijkse uitstapjes in onze prachtige omgeving met zijn uitgestrekte, prachtige stranden en schone zee graag weer naar huis zijn teruggekeerd. Door het warme herfstweer konden we allemaal nog even in het zwembad springen en ons opwarmen in de zon.
Ik hoop jullie weer te zien, want jullie zijn een heel sympathiek stel.

Retreat away from tourism
The Rock House and the entire Quinta da Arte form a great retreat with absolute tranquility. The Rock House is unusual with its completely open living area that adapts to the rocks. The kitchen, despite being covered, gives the feeling of an open kitchen. On the surrounding grounds with a pond and many plants, one can wonderfully relax, and time seems to pass more slowly. The house is located off the main road and is accessible via a rather bumpy path - you definitely need a car here. Tavira is about 15 minutes away.
Communication with Heidi was warm and reliable even before our arrival. On-site, she can provide wonderful tips for the area. Heidi is also interested and a lovely person beyond that. We felt completely at ease!

Wellness oasis
We were at the Algarve for the first time and are thrilled by the beauty of the area as well as the warmth of the people there.
Anyone, like us, looking for accommodation away from tourist hustle and bustle is exactly right at Quinta da Arte. There you will find a large area with three other holiday accommodations, but arranged so that everyone has their privacy, nestled in lush vegetation. A beautiful, large pool is also available. The "Rock House" impresses with its authenticity and openness. We had the doors open day and night without worry, even when we were away. The house, which was very clean, is equipped with everything you need, and anyone who needs extras can get them immediately if available. The good soul of the Quinta is Heidi. She is always there when you need help and can give many tips. So, an all-around beautiful vacation that we would gladly repeat. Thank you again for that.

O Paraiso
A Quinta da Arte é um lugar mágico, já frequento há 8 anos, e é o meu sitio preferido. Quando estou aqui de férias, consigo desligar me de tudo, limpo a minha cabeça e alma com boas energias que levo daqui.

What a wonderful world!
I kept humming this song by Louis Armstrong during our vacation at casa das rochas.
We have been back in everyday life for two weeks now, but images of our wonderful vacation there keep popping up.
Our rock house was our paradise for 14 days in May, amidst beautiful nature. A place to let the soul dangle and catch our breath. Sometimes we really had to tear ourselves away to explore the beautiful surroundings outside our "Botanical Garden." The facility lovingly designed by Heidi and Johannes over the decades invites exploration and wonder. Art that harmoniously connects with the surrounding nature and the four individually designed houses - this is unique. Since our friends lived in the casa do theatro, we were also able to enjoy this pretty, colorful house. Especially the airy separate kitchen pavilion was our cozy meeting point in the evenings to cook together, play, and make plans for the next day. Heidi was a reliable contact person for us in all matters throughout the entire time. With her resourceful, warm-hearted, and life-wise nature, she significantly contributed to making this vacation unforgettable for us. Unfortunately, we only discovered this gem so late in our lives, but if our health allows, we want to return to this very special place.

I have now been living for over 30 years in this beautiful place on the Eastern Algarve, which my husband, a versatile artist with a lot of passion and creativity, has created. In spring, the almond blossom; in summer, the beautiful sea right outside; in autumn, going hiking. Shopping at the lively, diverse nearby markets, e.g., in Tavira. takes place near Tavira and Olhao, and in the autumn I enjoy the onset of calm on the Algarve, the soft light that spreads over the lagoon and everything seems to stand still for a moment. And not to forget, we particularly like the friendly, unobtrusive, and very helpful Portuguese people. It is a joy that I have such particularly sympathetic guests and friends visiting us at our Quinta da Arte to enjoy nature, peace, creativity, and freedom with us. A piece of peace, simplicity, and joy. I look forward to meeting you and getting to know you.
