Casa do Teatro - Child friendly, separate vacation home in private complex with a total of 4 separate vacation homes. Casa do Theatro, a colorful and cozy house and is great for 2 adults with one, two small children. It is surrounded by shady bushes and trees, has a separate bedroom with air conditioning, a double bed and mosquito repellent.
There is another double bed in the colorful living room along with a large sofa to relax on. All beds have mosquito screens and fans. There is a separate toilet and a separate blue-turquoise 'Moroccan shower room'.
Two terraces surround the house with sun loungers and a dining table placed under a pine tree, adjacent to the separate turquoise kitchen house and barbecue area. There is an outdoor shower in the garden area. Here you spend life in nature with its many different smells and colors. Welcome to Quinta da Arte, the name of our little paradise, is a country estate on 12 hectares of land with four separate, privately located, individual cottages, each of which is a special feature and is located in the middle of a natural, mature park with art objects, surrounded by private gardens.
The property has a swimming pool, an open-air theater with 120 seats, a dance studio, a boules court and walking paths where the curious explorer will encounter sculptures and art objects.
HYGIENE in times of CORONA I would like to emphasize that in times of a special situation we naturally use additional disinfectants to the cleaning agents that have always been in use. I have studied the local, newly enacted laws in detail and will follow them conscientiously.
For us a clean house for our guests was and is always a special request, what our guests confirm to you in your wonderful under evaluations delivered comments also affectionately. Our houses stand away from each other and one has so distance to the other guests. On better times for all humans on the world and until then watchful and carefully to be, that was and is my motto. All the best! Please ask me also about our three other houses: Casa das Rochas -the rock house, the studio and the artistic Pavilhao da Arte, about which you will also find an advertisement here. In the upper and most private part of our grounds, lies the colorful and cozy house "Casa das Rochas", with its integrated rock landscape (Rochas means rock in Portuguese) and thus became namesake for the house. Each house has its own private garden with terraces and sun loungers completely embedded in nature.
In the middle part of the property is the main house with an adjoining dance hall which can be rented on request. In the lower part of the property is the spacious studio-studio with integrated art objects and a great view of the garden. It is very suitable for 2 people but also for 2 adults and two small children. Guests particularly appreciate the spaciousness, the brightness and the free and open attitude to life that is conveyed to them here - an uncomplicated, relaxed existence. -
Guests love the art objects with which you live and inspire you. Two large, opening studio doors with fluttering white cloths lead the guest over a wide open staircase into the garden part with sun loungers and the barbecue and dining area. The view of nature and the evening sitting on the so-called Portuguese staircase is one of the beautiful evening experiences to enjoy here.
Another vacation home is the artistic " Pavilhao da Arte" , suitable for 2-3 people or 2 adults with 2 smaller children . With its beautiful bathroom is entirely in blue tones and which attracts with its large shower-bathtub.
The house impresses our guests by the layout and size, by the many color views and especially with its great, large outdoor bed with mosquito protection, in which already whole families have spent their summer nights and marveled at the nightly starry sky. The kitchen is here, as in ours in an extra kitchen house and is located in the rear part of the garden next to the dining and barbecue area.

Living in the midst of nature
Quinta da Arte is located in Sotavento, the south-east facing Algarve coast, a coastal landscape with miles of sandy beaches and intact bird and fish life. Here fishing boats cross the waterways of the tamed Atlantic. The property itself is nestled in a vast natural landscape of carob, olive, almond and orange tree plantations. Surrounded by a slightly hilly mountain fringe, the sea, which is about 8 km away, glitters on the horizon. The pearl of the Algarve, the Roman-Arabic Renaissance town of Tavira, situated at the mouth of the 'Ria do Gilao' is only 10 km away.
Once they have arrived, our guests are often amazed at the fact that the accommodations appear even larger or even prettier than you had already got to know and expected from the photos.
The holiday homes are gladly booked by families or several families who are friends and then spend their holidays next to each other in the houses.

People who come to us love the originality of the accommodation and especially the 'being able to live outside'.
You love to come to rest undisturbed, to get away from your everyday life in order to gradually immerse yourself in the Portuguese rhythm of people, the sea, food and life.
Children who visit us learn while playing and often discover our whole area because they can move freely and undisturbed.
And of course the pool is one of your favorite places where you would probably like to spend the whole day if there weren't other beautiful things to discover..... like the sea with all its shells and small water grooves, the fiddler crabs that accompany you on the way to the sea... and much more.

The next small Portuguese village (2.5 km) is called Santa Catarina da Fonte do Bispo, a lively place with a cafe and bakery, a small supermarket and restaurants.
From us you are quickly at the sea with its wide, great beaches, the next wonderful markets such as in Olhao or Loule
with your old streets and because of historical buildings, galleries and museums and much more.
I'll be happy to tell you about the insider tips on the spot and explain the way to our mountain pub at Donna Maria or Joao, who serves the best fish in town.

A dream for nature lovers
We have now been guests at Casa do Teatro for the second time in a very short period. Once in October and now in January/February. Since we had a wonderful time there in October, we really wanted to spend our vacation here in the winter as well. With the fireplace in the large living room, it was very cozy even in winter temperatures, so from our perspective, Casa do Teatro is also suitable for a stay in the Portuguese winter. Our lovely hosts, Heidi and Johannes, spared no effort to make it beautiful and cozy for us. We once again spent a wonderful, relaxed time at Quinta da Arte and thanks to Heidi's many interesting tips, we saw a lot of the surroundings. Thank you again, dear Heidi and dear Johannes, we will definitely come back.

DasPaar hat sich sichtlich wohl gefuehlt bei uns und freuten sich nach Ausfluegen ins schoene Umland,nach einem Spaziergang am Meer,nach einer Stadtbesichtigung wieder auf das wie Sie es dann nannten nach Hause zu kommen.
Gerne verbrachte man einige Abende in der farbenfrohen Kueche und kochte und ja man grillte sogar den Fisch auf dem Aussengrill.
Der gut funktionierede Kaminofen machte ein gemuetliche Atmosphaehre und die zusaetzliche Klimaanlage schaffte eine schnelle Uebergangswaerme im Haus.
Wer die Natur mag ist bei uns wohl gut aufgehoben.
Danke fuer Euren Besuch Ihr seid ein sehr sympathisches Paar wir sehen uns ganz sicher wieder.

To find peace in a small paradise in the middle of nature
Back to the roots! That was our wish for a relaxing holiday in a natural and peaceful environment with lots of trees and plenty of light and ease - far away from all appointments and obligations and the opportunity to simply arrive and "just be together without a watch in the day, to be able to be as right for us as it is". Our wish actually came true - thanks to the fabulous Heidi (our enchanting landlady) and Casa do Teatro. This extraordinary colorful holiday home with a separate kitchen house, with a spacious shower made of colorful mosaic tiles in Moroccan style and plenty of space in the living/sleeping area including air conditioning, as well as the lovingly designed outdoor areas for relaxing and eating together at a large stone table - is one of four houses on a generous natural grounds and we liked it so much. Get up, make coffee, go for a swim in the outdoor pool, dry in the sun, relax together with a good book (not a textbook!) and think about what would be right for us today with the second coffee... Sometimes we just wanted to stay there because it almost felt like a second home. Thank you dear Heidi for everything... for your valuable tips already during the booking process and during our personal conversations on site, for your warm welcome, for your warm-heartedness and unobtrusive helpfulness, always striving to offer us an unforgettable stay. You succeeded, we had a wonderful holiday, and it is a pleasure to have met you. We miss you and Casa do Teatro and your dear dogs Max and Satelite and of course Panty, the little black cat very much and will definitely come back. For people who really want to find peace, this is a place where the soul can arrive again. That's why this place is definitely our warm recommendation!

Wir liegen nicht weit entfernt vom tollen Meer mit seinen weiten Straenden, der charmanten Renaissance Stadt Tavira und dem Fischer Ort Olhao und St. Lucia.
Ihr seid eingetaucht in die portugiesche Welt und seid danach sehr gerne wieder in Euer portigiesiches zu Hause zurueck gekehrt.
Die Morgende wurden genossen mt einem langen Fruehstueck und dem vergessen der Zeit.
Der nahe Pool lud ein zum schwimmen und dem danach in der Sonne liegen unter Schattentuechern.
Die Tage wurden geebt und erlebt mit dem was Euch Freude machte.
Und da war auch das Nichts Tun ganz Hoch im Kurs angesiedelt.
Auch fuer mich war es eine Freude Euch kennenzulernen und es wuerde mich sehr freuen bald wieder zu sehen .
So wie Ihr es vor habt ...bald Wieder zu kommen ins kleine Paradies.

Wonderful, colourful, special place
After 16 years we spent another holiday at Quinta da Arte. And it again did not disapoint us, more so we loved it even more. This time we stayed with our daughter and had a very relaxed time. We had plans for lots of things, but there is something with Quinta da Arte that invites you to completely relax and that is what we did. We spent our time in Casa do Teatro, which we loved as well as the other houses (in three of them we stayed 16 years ago). There is privacy at the house. A lovely, fresh pool. The area around the houses is a lovely little walk.
Heidi welcomed us and let us feel at home once again. She is such a lovely host. Thanks for having us and giving us a great time. Love, Patrick, Sophie and Annemarieke

Oasis. Simply special.
Our vacation at Casa do Teatro in Tavira will always remain a very special time for us, which we enjoyed so much there. The view in the morning from the large glass doors onto the small pond. Letting the first coffee glide on the wide staircase, with a view over the magnificent gardens of the complex and its artistically designed bungalows - a place full of creativity and tranquility and a place we definitely want to return to. Each bungalow is individually furnished with great love and an artistic eye. This left us speechless in the first hours after our arrival. We felt so comfortable and are still glad to have discovered this special place and look forward to the next time.

Oder Ihr habt einfach ein wenig am Pool gefaulenzt um danach am Abend in Tavira zu bummeln und ein selbstgemachtes Eis zu essen.
Wenn ich Euch traf ging immer der Daumen hoch, als Symbol dafuer, dass es Euch einfach wunderbar geht und Ihr gar nicht abreisen wolltet.
Doch ich bin mir sicher das Ihr Euer Versprechen wieder zu kommen schon bald einloesen werdet.

Holiday in a small paradise
This was our third vacation in the Algarve and by far the most beautiful! Pure vacation from the first minute. A wonderfully located complex in nature, built with great consideration for its surroundings. Only four houses are dispersed throughout the large property, so you can always enjoy a wonderful peace. A spacious living/bedroom (with air conditioning and two fans), an artistically designed Moroccan shower, a separate, colorful kitchen house, a large outdoor table for dining, loungers on the terrace, and more. However, if you are looking for "five-star comfort," this is not the right place. But everything you need is there, everything is perfectly clean, and if something is really missing, Heidi, the landlord, is immediately there to help. Speaking of Heidi: "landlord" is the completely wrong term. Heidi is the heart and soul of the property! From the first minute on, she is there for her guests with her kindness, helpfulness, and warmth. You almost feel like part of the family, including dog Max and gecko Otto. We don't like to leave and will definitely come back. Thanks to Casa do Teatro and Heidi!

Casa do Teatro - what an experience!
I was at Quinta da arte for the first time in September 2022 and was absolutely thrilled! The whole large area with the wonderful landscape radiates a special tranquillity, so that relaxation begins immediately. And then the great accommodation, the Casa do Teatro: actually two "houses" (a living and a kitchen house) with different shades of blue, green and terra particularly appealingly designed as well as the large window fronts, which give the impression that you live with nature and in nature, simply fantastic! So much has been lovingly thought of, right down to the clothes horse and clothes pegs, even several travel guides, maps and brochures invite you to rummage around - supplemented by super tips from the very friendly owner. When I close my eyes, I still have the wonderful pictures in my head - and I will definitely go there again!

A dream
Beyond Africa lies Quinta da Arte.
I dive into a dreamlike world as soon as I am here.
The holiday begins right there. Immediately. With the loving welcome of Heidi, the hostess, and in entering our by no means small area for the next few days - the kitchen house with the cosy sitting area under the big old pine tree directly opposite, the sun loungers with a view of the hilly landscape, the swimming pool, which has so far always kept its promise of cool refreshment, and the Casa do Teatro, which I love more than anything
A colourful mix of the most beautiful blues, greens and reds, but especially of warm yellow-orange tones; white and red curtains blow gently in the wind and reflect the shapes of the palms and agaves as shadows in the morning
Inside and outside seem to be suspended: sliding glass doors allow air and wind to blow through the room at any time - the coloured curtains in turn, light as gases, offer warmth, protection and intimacy. Each bed has a canopy, numerous colourful cushions - you feel like you're on a Far Eastern divan - and mosquito nets surrounding it, again preserving and suspending the inside and the outside at the same time
This place is a dream - to relax, to let yourself go, to just be there ..
Again and again! I would love to! I don't know of a more beautiful holiday resort.

Kleine Ausfluege um eine Galao in Tavira zu trinken gehoern genauso dazu wie am Abend eines der guten traditionellen Lokale zu besuchen .
Und zwischen durch wird gelesen und gefaulenzt.
Ja ich kann sagen Du tauchst wirklich ein in das portugiesische Leben und ich freue mich sehr das Du so tolle Bilder Deiner Ferientage bei uns in Deinen Erinnerungen behalten wirst.

Fantástica para quem adora natureza e tranquilidade
Já ficámos duas vezes na casa do teatro. É fantástica para quem adora estar imerso na natureza e preza tranquilidade. Tem a vantagem de ter muitas praias próximas a 20 min de carro, como cacela velha, praia verde ilha de Armona, etc. A casa parece estar integrada na natureza. É lindo acordar com todo o verde que rodeia a casa, muitas árvores, vegetação e uma vista fantástica. À noite conseguimos ver as estrelas ao som da natureza. É maravilhoso.
A nível da limpeza é irrepreensível. A Heidi é uma host fantástica, muito humana e sempre disponível para tudo.
Somos um casal com 1 filho de 4 anos e a piscina fica ao lado da casa. É super tranquilo e acolhedor. Esta quinta é um pequeno paraíso escondido às portas de tavira.
Recomendamos muito.

Beautiful time out
We spent nine nights at Quinta da Arte (more precisely: in the colourful Casa do Theatro) in summer and would have loved to stay there, or at least longer. Never before have we been able to "wind down" and completely switch off as quickly as we did there! Due to the location and the fact that there are only four holiday homes, we were able to enjoy a heavenly tranquillity that we had never experienced before. In addition, there is a very nice pool area, a comfortable bed, the great outdoor kitchen, a very nice and accommodating host (Heidi), who gives you insider tips regarding excursions, shopping etc. and much more. We spent every evening outside on our terrace and didn't miss anything - not even internet, which we could have booked (as well as a TV). A dream of light and space
It was not the first time that I spent my holidays in Portugal, but I have never experienced the landscape so intensively in all its particularity. The holiday homes are embedded in nature, where pine trees, agaves and palm trees always catch the eye, and lavender and rosemary exude their spicy scent. It is a feast for all the senses!
Even in the highly original and artistically designed houses, nature is omnipresent.Through the wonderfully integrated outdoor ponds and the swimming pool, the invigorating element of water is both refreshing and soothing.It is a place where everyday life recedes into the background and it is completely sufficient to simply be there.The hosts were very accommodating and I was able to get friendly and competent advice on all my questions.Thank you very much for this

Wunderbar
Das Gelände ist eine Oase der Ruhe inmitten einer abgelegenen wilden Landschaft. Aber nahe genug für Ausflüge an die Strände und Städte der Algarve - ein fahbaheren Untersatz vorrausgesetzt.
Das Casa Theatro hat einen tollen Charme, wir haben uns dort sehr wohl gefühlt. Wir wurden von Heidi herzlich aufgenommen und sind Ihr sehr dankbar für Ihre Hifsbereitschaft. Rundum haben wir eine super Woche dort verbracht, welche lediglich danach rief, länger zu dauern. Wir kommen bestimmt wieder mal.

Casa do Teatro
Ich war das erste mal in Portugal und habe mit einer lieben Freundin
das "Casa do Teatro" bewohnt.
Das Haus war super und die aussenliegende Küche war spitze.
Die Landschaft ist herrlich und die Abgeschiedenheit und Ruhe
ist Balsam für die Seele.
Hier kann man "Runterkommen".
Von hier aus sind Ausflüge ans Meer oder in die umliegenden
reizvollen Orte kein Problem.
und wenn man abends wieder ins Casa do Teatro kommt
fühlt man sich wieder zuhause.
Die liebevolle Aufnahme und Betreuung durch Heidi und Johannes
war sehr schön.
Sehr zu empfehlen.

Hab herzlichen Dank fuer Deine liebevollen Saetzte zu Deinen portugiesichen Tagen die Du sichtlich genossen hast.
Du warst erstaunt ueber die vielen schoenen Orte die Du kennengelernt hast so wie die tolle Stadt Tavira die Du durchwandert bist um dann einen Milchkaffee einen Galao nebst einem Pastel de Natas zu geniessen.
Oder Dein Marktbesuch in Olhao der Fischerstadt an der Algarve und die vielen Fische bestaunt hast.
Ja ,ich konnte sehen das Du das Ihr Euch hier wohl gefuehlt hast ,wie Du die Fruehlingsluft geschnupert von den Orangenbluehten die jetzt schon ueber das ganze Land wehen und ich freue mich schon jetzt auf ein Wiedersehen mit Euch.

Bald wieder

Casa do Theatro - A dream of light and colour
Even though my echo of the last stay is very delayed, it is not one iota less meaningful. I have known the landlords Heidi and Johannes for a long time, this was my second longer stay on their property and in Casa do Theatro. The huge property with its creative centre of differently designed accommodation invites you to linger and ponder. Whenever, a dip in the pool is a wonderful refreshment, also the boules court invites to exciting competitions (gladly also together with the hosts!).
The Casa do Theatro captivates with its airy and at the same time warm colourfulness - wonderful to wake up in the morning and watch the dancing shadows on the curtains. The separate kitchenette right next to the house entrance and the large dining table opposite provide guests with everything they need for an enjoyable Mediterranean meal.
There is no question that this house and the two warm hosts are worth a hundred percent recommendation! We will be back :-)

Sehnsuchtsort
Das Haus liegt auf einem sehr reizvoll angelegeten, nur durch einen Feldweg erreichbaren und daher sehr ruhigen Grundstück, auf dem vier individuell gestaltete kleine Häuser vermietet werden. Wir (2 Erw.) haben die Zeit in der Casa do Teatro sehr genossen, und das zum wiederholten Mal. Die farbenfrohe und sehr individuelle Gestaltung des Hauses sowie des gesamten Terrains, die Großzügigkeit des privat nutzbaren Außenbereichs mit dem Blick in die Natur laden ein zum Innehalten vom stressigen und lauten Alltag der Großstadt und die Seele baumeln zu lassen. Von hier aus kann man Ausflüge ans Meer, in die schöne Stadt Tavira, die Lagune der Ria Formosa und viele andere Orte im Hinterland der Küste machen, so dass es uns sehr schwer fiel, bei Urlaubsende wieder von dort wegzufahren, zumal der Empfang und die Betreuung durch die Vermieter wieder sehr zuvorkommend und herzlich war. Eine unbedingte Empfehlung!

Du magst am Meer spazieren zu gehen,ein wenig Sonnen baden oder ein Buch zu lesen.
Du entdeckst gerne die uns immer wieder ueberrsachend schoene Renaissance Stadt Tavira mit Ihren charmant, restaurierten Haeusern und alten Gassen oder besuchst einen der abwechslungsriechen Maerkte in Olhao der alten arabischen Fischerstadt mit zwei grossen Markthallen oder Du besuchst Loule mit Ihrer wunderschoenen Markthalle und tollem Angebot.
Du kennst den Herbst und den Sommer bei uns und kommst gerne wieder.
Es ist schoen Dich/ Euch sicher bald wieder begruessen zu koennen.
Der Kuehlschrank wird gefuellt sein und die Haengematte schon fuer Euch aufgehaengt ...

Unvergleichliche Anlage
Die 4 verschiedenen Häuser haben alle ihren eigenen Charakter und Charme.
Das von uns bewohnte „ Casa do Teatro“ ist ein eigenes Haus mit 2 Schlafzimmern und ein Bad.
Ein extra kleines Küchenhaus ist herrlich in die Natur eingebunden. Ein großer Außentisch und Liegen ebenso eine Aussendusche befinden sich direkt an den Häusern.
