Description
Casa Monte Cabeça is a luxurious holiday home styled as a traditional Algarve farmhouse. With fine sensibility, the Portuguese architectural style has been harmonized with the use of time-honored materials and the contemporary demands of a house in Southern Europe. Tasteful furniture, colorful fabrics, and selected accessories provide charming accents inside. The jewel, with its 17,500 m² of land, is located in a region widely used for agriculture, with small fruit and vegetable plantations, just a few kilometers from the lively town of Moncarapacho. Casa Monte Cabeça sits on a slight hilltop, offering a fantastic 360° panoramic view, particularly enjoyable from the huge rooftop terrace. To the north dominates a wide valley at whose end the first hills of the Serra rise. Looking south, the view sweeps over the evergreen coastal region and on the horizon, the vast Atlantic shines enticingly. Between them lies the Ria Formosa nature reserve, a large lagoon that is home to rare flora and fauna. The offshore islands with their magnificent sandy beaches are only 7-9 kilometers away from the holiday home. From Fuseta, ferries regularly travel to the island during the summer half of the year, and behind Luz de Tavira, Barril Beach can be accessed all year round via a floating bridge on foot or by a small train.
The very generously sized country house offers its guests a lot of comfort inside. Each of the three bedrooms has a large French bed, wall closets, and air conditioning (consumption is charged extra). Each room provides direct access to one of the many terraces. From all the rooms of the house, one enjoys the view into the lush greenery. Wooden shutters on all windows ensure a pleasant room temperature in the summer. Two tastefully tiled bathrooms are available for guests, one of which is en suite in the master bedroom.
Through the large hallway, one enters the living area, which is divided into a kitchen-living room and a living room. The two rooms can be separated from each other by a sliding glass door. The well-equipped kitchen has enough space and comfort to cater to a family of six. A dining table is located in the kitchen, and another one in the living room. The living area impresses with its high ceiling adorned with reed as well as the large windows facing three cardinal directions. From the comfortable leather couch, one can choose to enjoy the view of the romantically blazing wood stove, out to the splendid garden, or onto the large screen of the television. Around the house, there are broad, tiled, and partly covered terraces which offer sun or shade at any time of the day. They are lined with fragrant herbs, flowering bushes, palms, and bird of paradise flowers. In between, you can see the Atlantic sparkling. Paths lead past the refreshing outdoor shower across the large property with its typical trees. Thanks to the idyllically quiet location of the house, this is the ideal place to recharge and recover from the strains of everyday life.

Casa Monte Cabeça is located on a hill on the border between the districts of Olhão and Tavira. Both cities can be reached by car in 15 minutes. There are also shops and restaurants in the only 5 minutes away Ortem Moncarapacho and Fuseta. From Fuseta, the ferry also goes to the Atlantic Islands.

Very nice and comfortable house in the green
We felt very comfortable in this holiday home from the very first moment. The house is in a quiet location and the nearby town of Fuseta or Moncarapacho could be reached quickly in a few minutes by car. It is surrounded by green hills.
The house was equipped with everything you are used to at home. The landlord couple Röver were very helpful and nice. We will be happy to come back.

Super house to feel good and relax in the middle of nature with a view of the sea.
We spent four wonderful weeks at Casa Monte Cabeza with our Hovawart dog and both humans and animals enjoyed it to the fullest. The house on the hill impresses with its spaciousness and the all-round terrace, which you can enter through every room. There is always a sunny and a shady spot to be found. We didn't use the huge roof terrace that much in November, but it is certainly a huge asset in summer. Inside and outside the property, as well as on the beach, we could go for walks with our dog. We fell in love with the nearby fishing village of Fuseta, the various praias and the small town of Moncarapacho, so we will be back!!!!

Autumn at Casa Monte Cabeça - highly recommended
We decided on a short-term vacation in the fall of 2021 on the Algarve and booked Casa Monte Cabeça.
Casa Monte Cabeça perches on a hill and offers a wonderful view of the coast and the hinterland from the rooftop terrace. The house is perfectly equipped and very stylishly furnished. Upon our arrival, we were welcomed by Jens Röver and provided with all relevant information. The Algarve spoiled us with pleasant temperatures, deserted beaches, and the usual Portuguese hospitality.
Conclusion: The accommodation is highly recommended! The same goes for the autumnal Algarve!

Recommended house
A very beautiful accommodation in a hilly, agricultural region - orange, lemon/lime, almond and olive trees. The property is maintained over 17,000 square metres. Rooms are very spacious, access to one of the terraces is possible from every room, large roof terrace over almost the entire house. Unfortunately, the agricultural machinery is clearly audible during the day. The only thing we missed was a pool, as we did not want to walk to the beach every day. The existing outdoor shower with the alternative cold and warm! Shower compensated a lot. We will gladly come back!

Fantastic!

Spacious property in a quiet location.

A dream on the mountain
The house is beautiful, generously built, well equipped and maintained. The care was excellent. The exhilarating view of the sea and the mountains is wonderful. The property is very large and overgrown with almond and olive trees, among others. The proximity to the Wadden Sea, the islands, the sea, Fuseta and Moncarapacho gives the property a prime location.
We will be back.

Five stars and thank god not a hotel.
They are a bit off the main road - these beautiful, picturesque inns. By now, directions give us an idea of what to expect. For our vacation destination this year it says: "... an unpaved road branches off to the right..." And then we arrived at our dream house, where we (four adults) feel completely comfortable. The house is situated in a stunning landscape, while beaches and interesting places are easily accessible. After Moncarapacho, where you can get everything you need, it's just a stone's throw away. The fact that this gem also plays a role in a German crime novel becomes clear when you have coffee under the church tower!

A house to be in with a magnificent panoramic view.
The Casa Monte Cabeça is a place to be. The house is very spacious and ideal for up to six people. The furnishings are tasteful, and the bathrooms are in impeccable condition. The property has been completely renovated inside and out recently. There is an oven, a microwave, a freezer, and a washer/dryer. There is plenty of dishes, glasses, pots, toaster, juicer, basically everything one could wish for. Everything is very clean and well-maintained. All around, there are seating areas, and there is something suitable for every time of day and temperature. The rooftop terrace offers a panoramic view from the Serra to the sea, and beautiful sunsets can be experienced. For cold evenings, there is a fireplace that warms up quickly, but it is quite loud with its fan. During a stay in the winter months, one must be aware that the windows and doors are not sealed, and it gets cold inside. However, there is an electric heater in each room. This means that a lot of electricity is needed. The property is located secluded on a hill. The nearest supermarket is quickly reached in Moncarapacho, where there is also a bakery. The drive to Fuseta by the sea takes 10 minutes by car. The highway can be reached in 10 minutes, then for example, you can visit the tourist destinations on the rocky Algarve in a little over an hour. The managers are very friendly and helpful, providing tips and advice for a nice holiday in the Algarve. To spend your vacation here, you definitely need a rental car. We would book Casa Monte Cabeça again. We liked the location, the panorama, and the spaciousness of the property.

Casa Monte Cabeca
Great house in a country setting with splendid 360° view from the rooftop terrace. Be awaken in the morning by the scents of orange blossoms from nearby orchards. Away from the crowds (you will need a car) but still close enough to everything. Great food store nearby in Moncarapacho. Fish markets in Tavira and Olhão. We specially enjoyed the miles of sandy beaches in Santa Luzia or take a 20 min. ferry ride to Ilha da Culatra from Olhão, well worth the trip. Great dining experience at Restaurant Lagar da Mesquita but we found a Pasteleria in Tavira that serves delicious daily lunch specials for just 5€. Hosts Jens and Heïdi were very helpful just a click away but very respectful of our privacy. Overall we had a great vacation in East Algarve. Tks!

For the second time and again PERFECT
This year we stayed at Casa Monte Cabeca again for almost 2 weeks and enjoyed it very much. For us, the house leaves nothing to be desired, everything is pico-bello clean. There is always a spot in the shade where you can lie down comfortably, read a book or just do nothing at all. The garden with fig, hibiscus, bougainvillea, oleander, olives, etc. is wonderful and the property is so big that you are completely unobserved. Our highlight is the terrace, where you can sit down in the evening with a good glass of wine and admire the starry sky or the distant lights
A car is essential and it's a great way to get to the great beach, Tavira, Olhao, Fuseta, Loulé, etc. In Santa Luzia you can eat excellent octopus or anything else.

Pure relaxation
We, in this case a family of six with dog, spent our summer holiday at Casa Monte Cabeca for the second time and were thrilled again. For us it is pure relaxation. A dream house, very clean and cosy, with wonderful views from the great terraces. In addition, the Röver family provided excellent support from the beginning of the booking. Many places and the most beautiful beaches can be easily reached by car. Due to the central location, you can also get to the quiet hinterland quite quickly for hiking. We will definitely come back for a third time!
