With 95m2 of living space, this exclusive residence features a separate bedroom and bathroom and a living area adorned with art objects where you will feel right at home.
The Atelier-Studio is surrounded by a lovingly maintained garden that invites relaxation. Enjoy sunny days by the swimming pool or relax in your private garden area, which is equipped with comfortable garden furniture.
For barbecue lovers, a BBQ grill is available, next to a dining area to enjoy delicious meals outdoors.
Inside, you will find a well-equipped kitchenette including, among other things, a coffee maker and kettle.
The air-conditioned rooms ensure comfortable temperatures even during the warm summer months. The large living space with high ceilings and large studio doors that can be opened is comfortably furnished with a large sofa area for lounging and reading, which can also be converted into a comfortable bed upon request, and a TV that increases the comfort during your stay.
For guests with small children, a cot and a high chair are available.
For internet reception, a mobile router is available, which is activated with a mobile internet card. In 2024, this will cost the guest an extra 1 Euro per day.

Quinta da Arte is located in Sotavento, the southeast-facing Algarve coast, a coastal landscape with kilometers of sandy beaches and intact bird and fish populations. Here, fishing boats cross the waterways of the tamed Atlantic. The estate itself is nestled in a vast natural landscape, surrounded by carob, olive, almond, and orange tree plantations. Encircled by gently rolling hills, the sea, about 8 km away, sparkles on the horizon. The Pearl of the Algarve, the Roman-Arabic Renaissance city of Tavira, located at the estuary of the 'Ria do Gilao', is only 10 km away.

Our estate is located only 9km away from the most beautiful sights or the clean sea with its wide, great beaches.
Also very worth seeing in the eastern Algarve are the kilometers of sandy beaches protected by the beautiful lagoons and mudflats with various wildlife and water birds where even flamingos find a home in the "Ria Formosa" nature reserve.
Visit the still existing small fishing villages and their lively hustle and bustle. Lagoon landscapes that enchant and that the guest can overcome with small fishing boats, on foot or with cozy ferries to get to the sea. Beautiful: walking comfortably over well-laid paths to the sea.
Discoveries:
An old castle and lots of nature to explore in and around Castro Marim or more than 35 churches in the charming and particularly worth seeing 150-year-old Renaissance city of Tavira, the pearl of the Algarve. Faro is also worth seeing, with its old, beautiful city center, a convent, and a bone church of the Franciscans, as well as a well-kept shopping street where it is pleasant to stroll and visit cafes. Olhao, the most Arabic city by the sea, besides its beautiful large market halls with fresh goods, also has old alleys and even older small shops.
Cacela Velha, new town, old town and the Ria da Formosa just outside, and extensive golf facilities. St. Lucia, formerly a stronghold of squid fishing, today a sought-after destination to savor a variety of dishes cooked with it or to access the sea by boat. And then there is Fuzeta: bars, restaurants, fishing boats... and much more which I would love to tell you about.

More beautiful travel destinations: Spain is very close to us and can be reached quickly. Across the border river, the Guardiana, a small ferry departs from Vila Real St. Antonio and takes you to Andalusia, where among other things the beautiful world of appetizers, the Spanish tapas, begins. The world of the Spaniards, with its many legends telling of horses and bullfights, the shimmering heat, the battles between the Portuguese and Spaniards a long time ago, and the onset of modernity have long since taken root in the white villages of the municipality. Visit El Roccio, a pilgrimage site where there once was a brave clergyman who saved many local Gypsies in his church from fascist persecution. Visit the adjacent 'Donana' Nature Reserve, with rare birds and lynxes, its large pine forests, and continue to Seville, one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. It takes only 1 hour and 50 minutes to drive from our Quinta to Seville. Welcome!

Small break!
I was looking for a little break in the winter and found this charming location. The decor is exceptional, featuring art objects and individual furniture. The air conditioning can also be used for heating, so it didn't get too cold during the fresh winter. Through the large window, you can see the pond and the green surroundings. Heidi provided tips for excursions in the nearby area if things should get a bit livelier. She takes care of everything and always has an open ear for the needs of the guests. I can only recommend Tavira, Olhao and of course the restaurants with fresh fish. The beach is just a short drive away. If one does need to work, there is Wi-Fi, but I wanted to be intentionally offline. The other houses are also exceptional in their furnishings, with color, art objects, and tiled bathrooms with mosaics. The pool was out of service, but it is definitely a welcome change in the summer. I would love to come back!

Wandern, Maerkte besuchen gehen, in die ein oder andere Kunstausstellung,dem Fado lauschen und auch eingkehrt in eins der guten Lokale in unserer Umgebung.
Und am Morgen den Kaffee genossen auf der portugiesichen Treppe vor Deiner Tuer.

Enchanting, unusual, cozy
I always enjoy coming back to Quinta da Arte because it is completely different from typical vacation accommodations. The tranquility, the nature, and the scattered houses on the grounds, each very unique and with its own charm, immediately relax me, and I feel at home. The hosts contribute to this with warmth and many tips, as well as shared pétanque tournaments with other guests or relaxed hours in the shade of the trees. We love to browse for unknown fish varieties and new spices at the market in Olhão and Tavira, which we then prepare in the beautiful kitchen of Casa do Theatro. The art in every house is worth seeing, and who has the chance to look far over the land from a mosaic bathtub without being seen themselves? Away from the tourist hustle, you can decide daily whether to go to the sea or prefer lying by the pool; enjoy excellent food (Santa Lucia, Tavira, Olhao, . . ) or rather grill for yourself. Hiking on the large grounds is possible or playing golf at one of the glamorous golf courses in the Algarve. We will see each other again this year!

zum einen das faul sein am Pool , eine Runde Boule zu spielen am Abend nach einem Tag am Strand ,einen Ausflug an die Felsenklippen oder beim entdecken von Neuigeiten die unseren vielen Maerkte zu bieten haben.
Ein Besuch im tollen Cafe in Loule nebst einem Besuch in der nahen und hochwertig restaurierten Fotogalerie runden das kulturelle Program ab und es geht wieder zurueck nach Hause wie Ihr es bei uns schon nennt Euer 2 zu Hause.

the ideal place to unwind
We have now been for the second time at Heidi and Johannes in their Quinta. This location is ideal for couples or families who just want to relax on vacation. One lives in a small green oasis at the Algarve, close enough to Tavira (our favorite place for the evening), but far enough away from the hectic and crowded hotel complexes. The landlords live in a separate house on the property, great for questions about excursions in the area or for restaurant recommendations (the Casa do Polvo in Santa Luzia was amazing). Therefore, highly recommended overall.

near paradise
For us, it was a descent from the very beginning. The location and atmosphere were simply paradisiacal. The studio was so airy that the soul could truly relax. Heidi made the whole experience even more special with her calm and attentive manner. Although only a few kilometers from beaches and Tavira, we felt an absolute sense of seclusion. Even today, I remember this stay in stressful times. Leaving in the end felt a bit like being expelled from paradise.
For anyone seeking distance from everyday life with understated comfort, this is exactly the right choice.

I have been living in this beautiful place in the eastern Algarve for over 30 years now, which my husband, a versatile artist, has created with a lot of passion and creativity The almond blossom in spring, the beautiful sea on the doorstep in summer, hiking in autumn. Shopping takes place in the lively, diverse nearby markets, for example in Tavira and Olhao, and in autumn I enjoy the peace and quiet that returns to the Algarve, the soft light that settles over the lagoon and everything seems to stand still for a moment. And not forgetting the friendly, unobtrusive and very helpful Portuguese people.
