Our "Haus Lilly" is located in the bungalow park t'Hoogeland on the edge of the forest between Den Burg and De Koog—detached on a 680 sqm plot. The bungalow park t'Hoogelandt has a spacious character and offers a lot of private atmosphere and peace.

Location and surroundings of object
The bungalow park with "Haus Lilly" is located between Den Burg (approx. 4 km away) and De Koog (approx. 3 km away) right by the forest and is about 1200m from the beach, easily accessible by bicycle (many bike paths are separate) or on foot (of course also by car). There is a permanent beach pavilion Paal 17 where you can eat or enjoy a coffee after a long beach walk. In De Koog and Den Burg, there are enough supermarkets (including Aldi and Lidl) for stocking up on food supplies, as well as very beautiful shops for strolling and enjoying.
Fresh fish in many varieties is always offered in specialty stores in Den Burg, De Koog, and in Oudeschild at the harbor. You can also eat directly there or take fish to go. I can assure you, survival on the island is secured!
If it is possible for you to bring your own bicycles, it would be advisable. Texel is a wonderful cycling island, with kilometers of bike paths without car traffic. There are maps with various tours available for use in the house. Otherwise, there are many bike rentals with bikes for every taste.
The drive time from the ferry to our holiday home is about 15 minutes.

We, Doris and Eckhard Meyer and our cat Moritz, live, when we are not on Texel, on the left Lower Rhine near Mönchengladbach. It is exactly 325 long kilometers from door to door. Our passion for Texel began in 1984 through an insider tip from a work colleague. Still childless, we spent a week there through his mediation at Easter, sort of "Texel on trial", amidst a lively family in the center of Den Burg. For us, it was without a doubt: We will come back again in the summer. In a small guesthouse in Oudeschild near the harbor, we spent a great vacation! Fishing, cycling, strolling, sunbathing......................! In 1985, we were allowed to return and found accommodation with the parents of our Dutch friends in Den Burg. Family connection was guaranteed. Here too, the reception was warm and the 3 weeks are still a topic of conversation with us today: baking 'Slipertjes' and playing games with the elderly were our passions, because the weather did not exactly spoil us with a lot of sun that summer. 1986 saw the birth of our son Karsten and after 3 years without Texel, our longing was immense. 1990 finally marked our return! With child and cats, we found a beautiful holiday home with all amenities for an eventful stay in the bungalow park t'Hoogeland with "Haus Rose" for the next 12 years. The location to the beach, forest and proximity to the places Den Burg and De Koog could not be better. Over the next few years, after our stories enthused them, many families who were friends often joined us. Also, the acquaintances in the bungalow park between children and parents grew and contributed to the feeling of well-being each year. Starting in 1992, our daughter Frauke, at the age of 6 weeks, joined the group of children. Countless fun, exciting events with the children, great barbecues, beautiful summer evenings on the terrace, contemplative and joyous encounters in the Catholic tourist services of the Diocese of Essen, made every vacation a unique experience. Watching the ring jousting was mandatory. Our Dutch friends participated in it, and the children were eager to join in the excitement of the competition each time and perhaps enjoy a carriage ride. Every year, we looked forward to meeting our friends in the park and on the island, and we were excited about spending 3 weeks together. You probably already suspect: The idea of owning our own vacation home on Texel became increasingly appealing with each holiday. In 2001, the time had come. After careful consideration, we acquired our current "Haus Lilly", then still called "Haus Lütte", at the beginning of 2001, renovated it extensively in the following years, and in 2008 expanded it with an addition featuring a conservatory, so that today there is 70 sqm of living space available for vacation. The newly designed outdoor area with a spacious terrace invites you even more to sunbathe, have coffee, and barbecue with friends and family, no matter how many there may be. Over the years, we have come to appreciate the island as a retreat from the stressful daily work routine. Hardly arrived at the ferry in Den Helder, it still begins for us today (or rather?) already the "deceleration", upon arrival at the bungalow park and in the house the anticipation for our stay in Texel is great.
