Description

From spring 2026, our guests can use a Canadian canoe for a small weekly rental fee and deposit. The boat has 3 seats and thus offers space for 2 adults and 1 to 2 children.

Large, open living and dining area with wood-burning stove and underfloor heating, large 49-inch LED TV, DVD player, and micro audio system with DAB+ radio / CD-MP3 player. Cozy sitting area, large dining table (2 m x 0.9 m) for at least 6 people.

Location and surroundings of object

The holiday home "Huus am Siel in Eilsum" is quietly and idyllically situated in a direct waterfront location on the Greetsieler Tief in Eilsum – an ideal starting point for discovery tours by bicycle, boat, or car. A children's playground and riding facilities are located in the immediate vicinity.

The charming village of Eilsum is one of the oldest Frisian mound settlements on the East Frisian North Sea coast, with a chancel tower church built between 1240 and 1250 that is visible from afar. Greetsiel, the tourist center of the Krummhörn with its historic gabled houses from the 17th and 18th centuries, the idyllic harbor for the shrimp cutter fleet, and the famous twin windmills, is located a short distance away (4 km). One of the most well-known landmarks of East Frisia, the Pilsum Lighthouse, is also not far away (10 km) and can be easily reached by bicycle. The bathing lake in Greetsiel, which is easily accessible by bicycle via bike paths away from roads, not only offers a beach for sunbathing but also numerous other opportunities to experience nature. Hiking and cycling paths run directly along the lake, which are ideal for exploring the surroundings. The paths lead through the "Leyhörn Nature Reserve," which is known for its wide meadows, moors and wetlands, as well as the numerous bird and animal species. The city of Norden, with an attractive city center and pedestrian zone, located 30 km away, is one of the oldest cities in East Frisia. You can enjoy a fine sandy beach with a beautiful promenade as well as the fascinating Wadden Sea in the district of Norden-Norddeich.
At the seal station Norddeich, orphaned seals are nursed and raised. Here you can observe seals up close and even watch them being fed. Interesting day trips by ferry to the East Frisian islands of Norderney and Juist depart daily from the ferry port in Norddeich during the season.

The cities of Emden (19 km) and Aurich (30 km) can be easily reached by car in a relatively short time for relaxed shopping trips.

Dreamily beautiful holiday home by the sluice

Beautifully located holiday home by the canal with a dreamlike view of the canal. The furnishings are very rich, there is nothing to complain about. A sauna invites you to relax after a lovely day in East Frisia. In nice weather, you can explore the canals with the house's own boat. Those seeking peace and relaxation are in the right place here, but the nearest shopping opportunity is in the next village.

A dream house

We have now booked a vacation in this wonderful holiday home for the second time. In the meantime, the owner has changed, but everything has remained as we imagined it. This house is furnished with so much love for detail that we felt at home immediately. The location by the sluice is unique. Above all, the tranquility and the good North Sea air. Also, the housekeeper Mrs. Wübbena is very attentive and helpful. We can only recommend the house. Anyone who can't feel comfortable here is to blame themselves.

A great stay in a beautiful accommodation.

We were allowed to spend some beautiful days in this vacation apartment and felt completely comfortable from the very beginning. Upon entering, we immediately noticed the excellent cleanliness – everything was spotless and very well maintained. You can immediately tell that a lot of care and attention to detail has gone into this place.

The amenities also leave nothing to be desired: from the kitchen to the bathroom, everything has truly been thought of. The furniture is tastefully selected, the rooms are cozy and simultaneously modernly furnished. Especially pleasant for us was that everything works perfectly and is in excellent condition.

We also thank Ms. Wübbener for the friendly reception.

We enjoyed our time very much, were able to relax wonderfully and explore the surroundings. It is a place one is very happy to return to. Thank you very much for this beautiful accommodation – we will definitely come back!

Wir waren jetzt das 4 Mal in diesem Haus, und garantiert nicht das letzte Mal. Das Haus ist von oben bis unten top, natürlich auch Dank von Frau Wübbena. Mehr ist dazu nicht zusagen.

highly recommended

We were on site with three adults and 2 little ones (4+5 years old). The weather was great and the house was top-notch; I think it belongs to the top 3 in Eilsum. Cosily furnished, nothing was missing, well, maybe a smart TV, but that's nitpicking at a high level. Even the kitchen had everything that would please the cook and the housekeeper. The children were also delighted with the electric boat, so we went up and down the canal and afterwards there was chicken and sausage from the grill. The sauna also enjoyed regular visits. Fishing from the jetty was also a complete success; eel, perch, carp, roach, and bream regularly said "hello." It took five minutes (by car) or 30 minutes by bike to get to the bakery; the children had their own bikes, so we could choose how we wanted to go. The bakery also had an EDEKA next to it, so shopping was taken care of. In the other direction, it was 7 km to the Greetsiel harbor, also great to reach by bike with a stop at de beers fish stand. Norddeich was a half-hour drive, there was the wave pool, mini-golf, maze, and the beach. Halfway there, the Westernplaats riding stable is highly recommended and very affordable. Ms. Tina, our property manager, is amazing, empathetic, warm, super friendly, and like a genie, always there when you needed her. Our family spent wonderful days. The fact that we had differing opinions on cleanliness during the vacation with small children was also resolved in a wise manner and did not detract from the mood. Our quintessence: Those who do not visit the house have only themselves to blame.

Super Troller Family and Fishing Vacation!

Super nice holiday home. Everything you need is available.
We have been coming here every year since 2018, but unfortunately we now have to wait a year to come back.
We had a lovely family vacation with our children + grandchildren.
Everything stylish, cozy, and very clean. . .
The holiday home is TOP equipped - fully equipped for a holiday accommodation. It had everything you need and in high quality. Thanks to the wonderful summer weather, we did not use the fireplace.
We were able to use the outdoor terrace with great roofing and awning daily, as well as the beach chair, the loungers, and the grill.

The proximity to the pier and canal invites fishing, which is highly recommended, as the fish are biting well.

The structural beautification work on the pier opposite is completed and nicely rounds off the positive image of the surroundings. The Wübbena family does a great job as the local contact and lovingly takes care of the house and guests; it couldn't be better. Mr. Helbig is always reachable as a landlord and very helpful.

We look forward to more vacations at "Huus am Siel" in the coming years...

A perfect house, in a perfect place – with perfect people.

Our absolute favorite accommodation – for many years!

We have been regularly going to this beautiful holiday home in Eilsum for about ten years now – often two to three times a year, sometimes even for two weeks in the summer. It has become a piece of home for us.

The house is perfectly equipped – in the kitchen, you can find everything you need. It is clean, well-maintained, and lovingly furnished. The location is fantastic: quiet and idyllic by the water, with great fishing opportunities and space for some sports, yet still close to good shopping options and many beautiful excursion destinations.

A big compliment also to the Wübbena family, who take care of the house on-site – they are always incredibly friendly and helpful. The contact with the owners was and is also exceptionally warm. Since the change of ownership to the Helbig family, nothing has changed in that regard – they are also very friendly and accommodating.

Despite changes in our life situation, this house remains a fixed place of relaxation for us. We will continue to vacation here once a year. It is simply a place to breathe, arrive, and feel good. I give this review with a small smile – for a long time I was too "selfish" to leave a review because I wanted to keep the house just for us. It is simply our holiday home at heart.

In short: A perfect house, in a perfect location – with perfect people.

In 2025, we took over this beautiful and individually furnished holiday home at the North Sea near Greetsiel. The house is located right by the sluice and is lovingly furnished and equipped with every conceivable comfort. We would like to continue to make the holiday home available to guests and would be very pleased if the numerous regular guests would continue to be loyal to the "Huus am Siel in Eilsum". We are especially happy that the previous house caretaker, Tina, who has taken care of the house with all her heart for many years and ensured the well-being of the guests, will continue to be retained for the holiday home. She will continue to be supported by her husband Thomas and her son Timon, who take care of the garden, minor repairs to the house, and the boat. Thus, you will continue to not rent from an anonymous rental agency, and individual and personal guest support will remain guaranteed in the usual manner.
