The Hochhausen district of Tauberbischofsheim is located right on the Tauber, ideal for hiking and cycling and water sports on the river.
Bicycles and e-bikes can be rented by guests from the bicycle dealer Esser, only about 3 km away, or from Zweirad Schunder. Even more conveniently, bikes can be delivered and picked up by Radverleih Taubertal. Online reservation is recommended during peak season. For a short break on site and also for children:

Access to the Tauber river is only 50 meters away. Stand-up paddle boards can be rented from us on site. Swimming is also possible here. Fishing permits are available through the Tourist Information in Tauberbischofsheim.
There are public swimming pools located 5 km away in Wenkheim (25-meter lanes) and in Tauberbischofsheim (33.33-meter lanes and diving platform – reopening after renovation in mid-2025).
For wellness enthusiasts, Solymar Therme in Bad Mergentheim (25 km) is worth a day trip.
The dining options in Hochhausen and neighboring villages feature typical regional pop-up wine taverns, home-style cooking, beer gardens, as well as Italian and Croatian cuisine. Shopping options: Nahkauf (about 800 m away) for daily needs, supermarkets E-Center, Lidl, Aldi, and dm (about 4km away). Sunday rolls available about 5 km away at Kilian Bäck towards the Tauberbischofsheim motorway entrance or at the Café/Baker in the E-Center in Wenkheim.
The Geier warehouse in the village sells agricultural products: flour, pasta, spelt, vinegar, canned sausage, schnapps, etc. - ideal for gifts from the region.
