The holiday home "Achterdeck" in Heiligenhafen on the Baltic Sea offers a variety of amenities that will make your stay unforgettable.
Enjoy the fresh Baltic Sea air on the beach or in our well-kept garden. A car park is available on the street in front of the door. For electric cars, we have installed a wallbox (11 kW) to support this type of e-mobility as well.
The "Achterdeck" was completely renovated in 2013 from an ecological point of view and offers our guests a special living comfort. All exterior walls were ecologically insulated from the inside and plastered with clay, the wooden floor in the living room and on the upper floor are oiled solid wood floorboards.
In the house you will find a modern, fully equipped kitchen with induction hob, dishwasher, microwave, oven, kettle, Nespresso and coffee machine and much more.
The Scandinavian stove with the best emission values ensures cosiness in any season and weather, snuggle up on the couch opposite and watch the fascinating play of flames.
The open-plan living/dining area offers a wonderful view of the garden. In the sitting area you will find SAT-TV, Blue Ray player and HIFI and in the old boat, which was really still used for fishing on the inland lake, a selection of exciting holiday reads, books worth reading about the village and the surrounding area and DVDs.
In the Vertiko you will not only find a variety of drinking glasses, but also various games for young and old to keep you entertained.
There is also a guest WC with shower, a large built-in wardrobe and the utility room on the ground floor. The washing machine and ironing board/iron also have their place here.
A small boot room under the stairs can store your travelling bags until you leave (so you may not think about the journey home so often!).
The two separate bedrooms are on the upper floor. The double beds (180x200cm) are equipped with a raised bed frame and XL bed linen (155x220). Insect - pollen protection and for sensitive guests an electrical disconnection from the power grid ensure a restful sleep.
If you have different TV programme preferences, you can switch to the bedroom with a comfortable recliner.
The spacious bathroom with open rain shower, bathtub, WC and bidet is located between the bedrooms. The bio-sauna is located to the rear. Sauna towels are of course provided for you here. Each bathroom has a hairdryer and make-up mirror.
A high chair and travel cot are available free of charge for younger guests. Bed linen can be booked additionally.
The garden is inviting at any time of day. In the morning you can enjoy a delicious breakfast on the glass-covered terrace, and in between you might fancy a little break in the beach chair. At the end of the day, you can relax on the rear terrace, the sunny "aft deck", with coffee and cake, sundowners or barbecued delicacies!
Leisure activities are also provided for - croquet, boccia, Viking games can be found behind you in the woodshed, where you can also store and, if necessary, load the bicycles you have brought with you.
The holiday home "Achterdeck" is an idyllic retreat in every season for people who decide against 08 - 15 and in favour of individuality.

Location and surroundings of object
The "Achterdeck" is located in the heart of Heiligenhafen in a historically renovated, quiet street within sight of the inland lake with its beautiful promenade, the large marina and attractive town centre.
The Graswarder nature reserve is just a few minutes' walk away. From the local observation tower, you can not only watch the colourful birdlife, but also enjoy the beautiful surroundings, the town and Fehmarn. NABU offers guided tours for those interested.
You will also notice the houses on Graswarder, which are lined up like a string of pearls and are an eye-catching and popular photo motif.
The 435 metre-long adventure pier invites you to play, relax and marvel. You can also get married there! Many restaurants, snack bars and shops lead from there along the attractive marina towards the old town and market square.
Stroll through the old town and just let yourself drift along.
The town church, built in the middle of the 13th century, is well worth a visit and regularly attracts visitors with its series of concerts.
The weekly market takes place on the market square on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 8.00 am to 1.00 pm. Here you can discover many regional products.
It is wonderful to sit in a café, watch the colourful hustle and bustle and listen to the carillon that plays five times a day with different songs.
Visit the local history museum or pat the statue of fisherman Stüben on the shoulders by the lake.
The 5.4 km promenade around the lake is not only popular with joggers - pedestrians and cyclists, but children in particular love this route because there are many different playgrounds at short intervals, and there is even a skating rink. If you need a bite to eat, there are plenty of places to stop for refreshments along the way.
Depending on the wind, you will discover many kiters and surfers not only on the Baltic Sea but also on the inland lake - perhaps you would like to give it a try!
Sailing schools offer courses for young and old, from surfers and optimists to dinghies and catamarans, everything is possible. The water sports centre with competent trainers is located directly on the inland lake, within walking distance

To the west, the cliffs offer a fantastic view and, with a bit of luck, you can take home thunderbolts, chicken gods and found wood as souvenirs
The Hansapark with its many rides is also within easy reach and is always popular with children and adults alike

Fehmarn attracts visitors with its many attractions, from the Sundbrücke bridge to the U-BOOT museum, marine centre, Flügger lighthouse and the
"Jimi Hendrix memorial stone". A sightseeing flight over the island, Heiligenhafen or along the coast is an experience, especially during the rape blossom!
Take advantage of the proximity to Denmark and pay a visit to our neighbours. The ferry from Puttgarden to Rødby takes only 45 minutes, really only a stone's throw away
Visit Eutin with its famous festival and baroque palace.
Plön and the 5 - lakes tour is very attractive
Segeberg: Experience the Karl May Festival in the summer months.
Also interesting is the Kalkberg Cave, the longest gypsum cave in Germany with a total length of 2260 metres and Northern Europe's largest natural bat habitat. Guided tours of the accessible part of the cave from April to September
Noctalis - the world of bats - is an exciting adventure exhibition
The old Hanseatic city of Lübeck with its historic old town, Holsten Gate, St Mary's Church, Hanseatic Museum and much more is almost a MUST!
Tip: stroll through the old corridors, take a look from the Petri Tower over the city of the seven towers to the Baltic Sea or discover Lübeck on land and on the water with the amphibious bus. Having always loved being close to the Baltic Sea, it was an opportunity for us to buy this house, then a ruin, in 2012 and renovate it to a high standard according to our own ideas. Our aim was to create a place where we would also like to spend our holidays. As we have a boat moored in the marina, we can often be found on site.
