Experience an unforgettable holiday in our charming "Fachwerkhaus an der Wasserburg" in Windeck, North Rhine-Westphalia. Here in the "Windecker Ländchen" you are guaranteed to find everything you need to relax and unwind. Discover the Siegtal with the "Natursteig Sieg", roam the forests, cycle along the Sieg on the Siegtal cycle path, enjoy nature and the fresh air ...
By the way: there is no such thing as a place called "Windeck"! Windeck is a large municipality, at around 107 km² the largest in the Rhein-Sieg district. 67 villages add their names to the place name. The main villages are Windeck-Rosbach, Windeck-Schladern, Windeck-Dattenfeld and Windeck-Herchen. You will find our holiday home in Windeck-Mauel.
Our holiday home is a detached half-timbered house for sole use. It is only a few metres away from our house and is part of an ensemble of historic half-timbered houses that were built next to the medieval castle of Mauel. The castle is now privately owned and cannot be visited.
With 110 square metres of living space, our holiday home can accommodate up to three guests and has a large eat-in kitchen with wood-burning stove and large dining table, a living room, 2 bedrooms and a bathroom with bath, shower and WC. There is a separate toilet on the ground floor.
The fully equipped kitchen with modern appliances such as a dishwasher, kettle and coffee machine offers everything you need to prepare your favourite dishes. Enjoy your meals at the spacious dining table or outside, where you can also use our BBQ grill.
By the way: unlike many half-timbered houses, our house has normal-height ceilings and is therefore also suitable for tall people.

What is that cozy
A small house..
Cozy and comfortable..
A servants' house was converted into a holiday home. Everything very clean and cozy.
Very nice owners.
We are repeat visitors and always like to come back.

Feels like home?
We have been coming to this cozy half-timbered house several times a year for over 10 years. We enjoy the homely furnishings, the seasonal decorations, the wood stove in the living kitchen, and last but not least, the proximity to countless hiking trails. We are already looking forward to our next stay!

Cozy and colorful
The holiday home is lovingly furnished, very clean and well-maintained, spacious, and very cozy. We felt very comfortable. The large, fully equipped kitchen and the two bathrooms, including one with a bathtub, were great. In addition, there were two bedrooms, a large living room, and two hallways. We lacked for nothing. Thank you also for the tip about the swimming spot at the Sieg. I went swimming there twice!

Jewel among vacation rentals
Not at all small, cramped, and dark! This half-timbered house is simply incredibly elegant. The space is generously and lovingly designed over 2 levels. The entire furnishing reflects a fine sense of materials: for example, there is a honey-colored wooden staircase or luxurious flooring with mosaics, colored glass in the door, and much more. In short - it is a place to feel good, where one not only finds what one absolutely needs but also real residential culture with sophistication.

We felt very comfortable.
We spent a long weekend in the half-timbered house at the water castle and immediately felt at home.
The house is very well equipped and very cozy. The location is beautiful and quiet. We spent a lot of time on the terrace.
The hostess doesn't leave anything to be desired. We really enjoyed the homemade grape jelly.
Everything you need is nearby and you can easily travel by public transport. There are many recreational opportunities in the area. Hiking trails and the Siegradweg are very close by. There is also a great beer garden at the Siegwasserfall. We spent a very nice weekend here and will definitely come back.
