Description
Location
We warmly welcome you to the wooden chalet in log construction above the Cembra Valley in the holiday region Trentino-Alto Adige, your place of complete tranquillity in the middle of the mountains. The chalet is surrounded by high mountain forest at an altitude of 1350 metres on the southern slope above the village of Grauno, not far from the provincial border with South Tyrol. The chalet stands completely free on a mountain meadow with an enormous outdoor area that is partially fenced in; within a radius of around 2.5 kilometres as the crow flies, there is nothing but untouched nature, you and the chalet. An unusual chalet experience with a touch of adventure.
Important
The chalet is completely self-sufficient, i.e. every drop of water has to be collected and specially disposed of, the electricity is generated by photovoltaics; in bad weather with a generator. The environmental requirements imposed by the Autonomous Province of Trento for the operation of the chalet are the same as for a mountain refuge. The chalet can only be reached by a Fiat Panda 4x4 car, which is provided by the landlord for travelling to and from the chalet from the valley. You can park your car free of charge in Grauno.
Interior
The very cosy and high-quality furnished chalet was built from natural stone and mainly from solid wood in block construction. The ground floor entrance area has a cosy and spacious, open-plan local chalet kitchen made of solid wood with an original Trentino wood-burning oven, a 4-burner gas cooker and plenty of seating for the chalet's occupants. The balcony is directly accessible from the kitchen-living room.
One of the fantastic bedrooms with a double bed and access to the balcony with mountain views is located directly next to the kitchen/living room. A staircase within this bedroom leads to another sleeping area under the sloping roof. Here there are two single beds which can be converted into a double bed.
At the end of the corridor is the bathroom, which has a shower, washbasin and WC. In the centre of this corridor is a fantastic tiled stove, which quickly provides the ambience with cosy warmth when required.
A wooden staircase at the end of the corridor on the upper floor leads to another cosy bedroom. It has two single beds, which can also be easily converted into a double bed.
Hot water is provided by a gas boiler, electricity is generated by a photovoltaic system and a generator in bad weather. Due to the strict environmental regulations in the destination area, the ongoing climate change in the Alps and the direct proximity to the nature park, responsible use of this resource is essential.
You must provide your own bed linen, towels and table linen.
Outdoor area
The spacious, partially fenced and very well-kept outdoor area offers plenty of seating, a beautiful covered arbour for dining together, parasols, garden furniture and a local covered open-air kitchen for cooking, roasting and barbecuing in the great outdoors. There is also another barbecue right next to the chalet. Nothing stands in the way of a cosy and undisturbed stay and play in your own area far away from everyday life or an undisturbed bath in the sun.
The chalet offers a unique combination of comfort and complete seclusion, nestled in the breathtaking landscape of the high mountain forest. It is the ideal place for a relaxing holiday, surrounded by the peace and beauty of nature. You can start exploring the surrounding area on foot or by mountain bike. The impressive Trudner Horn Nature Park begins in the immediate vicinity.

Location and surroundings of object
Grauno is a charming little village in the Cembra Valley in Trentino in northern Italy. Even Goethe and Dürer stayed here when travelling south. The alpine valley with its many small picturesque villages is a well-known area for growing grapes, which are processed into excellent wines and grappa.
Within about 30 minutes by car from Grauno, you can reach the Val di Fiemme with the town of Cavalese, famous for its Nordic skiing. From there, the route opens up to the world-famous Dolomites such as Latemar and Rosengarten.
