Description

When you want to have a fun and pleasant holiday, right in the middle of a cozy village with forest, dunes, and beach within walking distance, then Anno 1618 is the perfect place to stay.

Anno 1618, a cozy holiday home in Hollum on the beautiful Wadden island of Ameland. As the name suggests, it is one of the oldest houses in the village. Authentic elements have been preserved as much as possible.

The house is simple but neat and fully furnished. WIFI is available. There are terraces around the house and a parking space at the house. An enclosed courtyard where you can sit outside comfortably early in the spring. Less suitable for seniors with limited mobility due to the steep stairs present in such old houses.

All amenities are within walking distance, such as the supermarket, restaurants, shops, bike rental, and the bus stop. The beach is about 10 minutes by bike.
Final cleaning €70 and bed linen €7.50 per person. Kitchen linen is included. The tourist tax 2026 is €2.08 p.p.p.n. Pets are welcome for a fee.

We rent out weeks, midweeks, and weekends. The changeover days are Friday for weeks and weekends and Monday for a midweek. Requests for different dates/stays can always be made.

Our holiday home is located in the village of Hollum and is the oldest house in the village. The house was built in 1618, as the name suggests. The owner, Mrs. Visser, was born and raised on Ameland. The house belonged to her great-uncle. In 1980 she purchased it and thoroughly renovated it. Many authentic elements have been preserved, such as the box bed doors, the beamed ceilings, and the beautiful blue tiles called 'Springertjes'.

The beach is only a 10-minute bike ride away. The supermarket is around the corner, just like the bakery, drugstore, and the snack bar. At the end of the street you will find Pizzeria 'Il Vulcano' and restaurant 'De Griffel', where you can enjoy a delicious lunch, drinks, and dinner. Opposite the house you will find Eeterij Tante A'n, the cosiest aunt of Ameland with a nice menu.

Anno 1618 is easily accessible by public transport. From the ferry terminal in Nes, take bus 1 towards Ballum-Hollum and get off at the Yme Dunen weg stop in Hollum. You walk about 100 meters into the village and opposite Eeterij Tante A'n you will find Anno 1618.
