Description
Are you looking for a special place to stay? You want to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and experience a few relaxing days in harmony with nature?
We offer you a beautiful tree house in airy heights. Our holiday home is located in a small village in the Weserbergland vis a vis the Hohenrode floodplain, a unique natural jewel in a loop of the Weser. There you can watch seabirds and, with a bit of luck, watch the sea eagle fishing.
Pure nature awaits you and the Weser cycle path as well as many excursion and hiking possibilities in the immediate vicinity. A lovely large terrace invites you to relax and offers a beautiful view of the Weser mountains and the floodplain landscape.
Our tree house offers you an ideal starting point for hikes, cycling tours, canoe trips on the Weser or sightseeing of all kinds. For shopping, the historic old towns in Rinteln and the Pied Piper town of Hameln are enticing.
The tree house is equipped with a kitchen with cooker and refrigerator and a small bathroom with shower and toilet. Heating is provided by modern infrared panel heaters. It offers sleeping accommodation for a maximum of four people (two double beds). One sleeping accommodation is in the lower living/sleeping area, another in the upper bedroom, which you reach via a comfortable staircase.
Our holiday home was built in 2018 and has been rented out to guests since April 2019. It is very modern and beautifully furnished and offers everything that is important for a relaxing holiday.
The tree house has free Wi-Fi and a telephone. Further media equipment was deliberately omitted.
Have a look at the pictures and check the availabilities. We look forward to seeing you!
Our tree house is built in and around an old cherry tree. However, it does not put any strain on the tree, it is elevated and built in a wooden post and beam construction. Screw foundations were chosen as the base so as not to damage the roots of the tree.
The façade is made of oiled spruce, the roof of untreated Canadian cedar. We chose larch wood for the large terrace. Access to the house is via a wide staircase, very convenient and directly accessible from the private parking space at the house.
Inside you will find a modern and high-quality interior with bathroom and kitchenette, dining area and a large bed on the lower level. The upper floor is reached via a safe staircase with good access, built into a turret. There you will find the attic with another large bed. A lockable child safety gate ensures the safety of the little ones.
The entire house is built to be allergy-friendly, this applies to all materials used. Therefore, we are unfortunately unable to accommodate dogs in the house. We apologise to all dog owners, but there are unfortunately many guests who would have a problem with this.
The holiday home is designed for four people - small or large - and contains everything you need in terms of equipment: Freshly made beds, sufficient towels and bathroom articles as well as everything you need in the kitchen. For contact with the outside world, you are welcome to use our free Wi-Fi and telephone (landline free incl.).
The entire property (750 m²) is at your exclusive disposal. It consists mainly of green space and a wildflower meadow, is completely fenced and offers space for children to play. A small shed is available for storing bicycles.
Our guestbook and our Wi-Fi welcome page will inform you about shopping opportunities nearby, nice restaurants, great hiking opportunities, the floodplain landscape on the Weser and many other great things you can experience with us.

Location and surroundings of object
The tree house is located in the village of Hohenrode, which belongs to Rinteln. From the top, you look directly down on the floodplain of the same name, a nature conservation project of NABU. The floodplain landscape is located in a loop of the Weser River, is home to many different bird species, some of which are very rare, and is an important resting and wintering area for migratory birds.
It is embedded in the Weserbergland Nature Park, the northern low mountain range landscape of Lower Saxony. The landscape of the Weserbergland Nature Park is characterised by the course of the river Weser, extensive forests and magnificent views of a varied environment.
Hohenrode is one of the oldest church villages in the Weser Valley and was already mentioned in connection with the founding of Möllenbeck Monastery in 896. Its more than 1000-year-old church with Romanesque, Gothic and Baroque components is a testimony to this long history.
Rinteln lies about 8 km west along the Weser. With its small but fine old town, the city is considered a gem of the Weser Renaissance (1520 to 1620). The historic centre with its market square is magnificently adorned with oriels, Welsh gables, shell ornaments, fan rosettes, volutes, cornices and lots of half-timbering. Here you will find all the necessary shopping facilities. In Exten - on the way there (4 km) - there are also two bakeries.
Hameln is about 19 km away, on the river Weser in an easterly direction. Hamelin gained worldwide fame through the exodus of the "Hämel children" (1284), from which the famous Pied Piper legend later developed. Even today, Hamelin is known worldwide for this story and attracts many tourists to the historic old town every year. The magnificent buildings of the Weser Renaissance can still be admired today and characterise the flair of the old town, which is well worth seeing.
