Welcome to a charming and pleasant cabin in a calm and peaceful environment where from the cabin and its balconies between the trees of the forest you have a view of part of the Kornsjöarna, a lake system that goes all the way into Norway and offers about 30 km of paddling with just two short lifts. The lakes are beautiful and rich in islands and skerries. In the other direction, the lake merges into Kynne älv, a river that ends in a fine waterfall and further into the mile-long Bullaresjöarna with its many fine swimming spots, e.g. Sundshult. The cabin is a perfect starting point for those who want to experience animals and nature, paddle, hike, cycle, rock climb, pick berries and mushrooms or go fishing (NOTE: Fishing license required). In the immediate area there is the possibility to rent canoes or you can bring your own canoe, kayak or bicycle. The area is known for its nature and wilderness experiences, there is plenty of both untouched nature and rich wildlife, don't forget your camera! In the forests, both wild animals and birds roam and you might get the chance to catch a glimpse of a moose. In late summer, there are both berries and mushrooms in the forests, for example the 35-mile-long Bohusleden hiking trail passes through the area, but you can find information about it online. The cabin is nicely located on a forest slope that faces down to the lake, via one of the cabin's balconies you reach the cabin's entrance and further into a welcoming hall. In the open kitchen there is a stove, fridge/freezer, microwave and coffee maker, in the living room there is dining room furniture, TV, a warming wood stove and sofa bed. The cottage has two bedrooms, one with a double bed and one with a bunk bed where the lower sleeping area is 120 cm wide. The bathroom has a WC, wash basin and shower. The cabin has two balcony areas with summer furniture and electric barbecue, one balcony to face the morning sun and one for evening snuggles, made for pleasant moments and conversations when you review the day's events or plan for new ones. The house has his own jetty at the lake nearby. In the area there are several excursion destinations such as Älgafallet, a magnificent waterfall with a height of 46 m, well worth a visit. The river above the falls forms the very border between Sweden and Norway. Visit the moose park in Dals Ed or take a trip across the border to Norway and Halden for a visit to Fredriksten's fortress or why not to Strömstad, a city by the sea with a large selection of activities during the summer, rich restaurant life, pleasant shopping in small shops that are close each other and if you feel like a salty, cooling dip in the summer heat, it's a short distance to the sea, cliffs and swimming, feel free to take one of the bathing boats out to one of the islands in the Strömstad archipelago. From Strömstad, there is also a ferry to the Koster Islands, Sweden's westernmost islands with a resident population. Near the cabin you will also find the Åmål ski center, which offers both cross-country and downhill skiing. Good to know: Firewood is not included. Can be bought at the nearest grocery store. Fireworks are not permitted in the area.

The house itself is dreamy, comfortably furnished with (very) many seating options, both indoors and outdoors: private floating dock in the lake, NE and SW balcony, private barbecue area). When we arrived, everything outside was decorated with flowers. So 5 stars for the house. However, the handling by DanCenter was catastrophic: Point 1. In all documents, "Bråtarna 3" was always stated as the address. This is also the correct street address (and the GPS knows it), but it doesn't help on-site; here you can only find a sign with "Bråtane 1:59" -- different name, different number. A small detail, as we have already seen pictures of the house, still confusing. Especially because of point 2. Point 2. The provided key code is incorrect. We could not open the key box! Point 3. Call to Dancenter. Not possible, as no one was reachable at any of the provided numbers (Hamburg number, two Swedish numbers, including an EMERGENCY(!) number). Either a voice announcement with options, which then immediately disconnected the call, or no connection at this number. Ultimately, the neighbor was able to confirm that it was the right house, but he also does not know who it belongs to. In the attempt to guess the misread key box number, we then arrived at the correct number (+1 to the number communicated by DanCenter, in case someone faces the same problem). We then informed the property manager (whose contact details are in the house, where they of course didn't help us at first), so maybe this problem is now resolved. For DanCenter, therefore, 0 stars.

The house was really clean when we arrived and the kitchen was equipped with everything you need. The location of the house is wonderfully quiet, in the countryside/in the forest. The small road by the house has very little traffic. There are lots of animals there, we even saw moose several times on the way to the house. We were there in the autumn, and despite the cooler temperatures it was pleasantly warm in the house. Otherwise we could have turned on the wood stove. / If there was a small problem the neighbour (owner?) was quickly on hand. / Very relaxing!
