Description
The winter-proof, small holiday/garden house on the grounds of Villa Elsa in Dresden-Blasewitz invites you to spend a holiday in the Saxon capital all year round. It is especially recommended for families with children. The children "sleep like boy scouts" in the attic with a wood-panelled, tent-like ceiling, the sun shines in through two skylights and a side window. The ground floor is available for the parents. Two living and sleeping rooms connect living areas with inviting sleeping facilities on the ground floor. Through two large windows you can see into our original garden with trees, shrubs and can also watch birds here. While the first room is furnished with a double bed (180x200cm), a dining area and a TV, the second room has a sleeping couch (extra bed possible, 90x200cm). A small table is also available here, while a spacious wardrobe provides storage space.
The small kitchen on the ground floor has been functionally equipped and allows you to prepare simple meals. In addition to a cooker with two hotplates, you will also find a refrigerator and a microwave.
A shower room completes the ground floor. The shower is enclosed by a fixed cubicle. A washbasin and WC harmoniously round off the bathroom equipment.
Via a steep interior wooden staircase you reach the attic with cosy slopes. Here you will find another sleeping area with a double bed (180x200cm) and its own TV. The dining table and an open, small kitchenette ensure that the attic can also be used as a separate living area. Another bathroom with bathtub, washbasin, mirror and WC completes the area on the upper floor. You can access the attic both via the connecting door from the ground floor and via its own entrance. This makes renting the holiday home suitable for two families who would like to travel together but prefer to separate the sleeping areas.
The guest garden of the house allows you to find peace and an idyllic retreat even in the city. Loungers on a terrace and seating areas invite you to spend relaxing hours as well as socialising. A barbecue is available so that you can also dine outdoors in good weather.
The seating in the outdoor area of the house is partly covered, so that you can linger here in the cool shade in summer or completely sheltered in cloudy weather. Smoking is also possible here.

Quiet yet centrally located, the holiday house of Villa Elsa is an excellent starting point to explore Dresden. Here, you vacation between the University Hospital and the famous Elbe bridge "Blaues Wunder." You can easily reach both the Schillerplatz shopping center and many restaurants in the area on foot. The shopping center offers you numerous stores, grocery markets, several bakeries, and a cinema (CinemaxX with 5 halls). Schillerplatz also serves as a central stop for trams and buses. Nearby is also the Waldpark. The park, covering a total of 23 hectares, invites you to take a walk in the greenery amidst bustling Dresden. A forest playground, accessible in 10 minutes on foot, and tennis courts offer variety. The Elbe cycling path and the Elbe meadows are also quickly reachable. You can get to the historic old town by tram in about 10 minutes. 10 to 15 minutes by bike or you can walk along the Elbe to the historical old town. The tram stop is a 3-minute walk away. At the "Blue Wonder," there is a docking station for the White Fleet of Saxon Steamship Company. You can take these historic steamers to Pillnitz Castle or further into Saxon Switzerland or even to the Czech Republic. On the other side of the "Blue Wonder," you can take the historic funicular to the "Weißer Hirsch" district or the historic suspension railway to Oberloschwitz. Other interesting excursion spots include the 3 Elbe castles: Albrechtsberg, Lingnerschloss (dining), and Schloss Eckberg, the Großer Garten with the park railway and the zoo, or Schloss Pillnitz.
Numerous museums (State Art Collections with their 15 museums, Picture Gallery, Green Vault...) ), Hygiene Museum Dresden, Leonhardi Museum. . . , event venues (Semper Opera, Operetta, Playhouses, Magic Castle Dresden-Schönfeld. . . ), events (Music Festival, Dixiland Festival Dresden, Elbhangfest, City Festival, Striezelmarkt) and exhibitions (Technical Collections of the City of Dresden, Military History Museum of the Bundeswehr, Transport Museum, Panometer. . . ) await your visit. Attractions in the surrounding area include Moritzburg Castle, the historic center of Meissen with the castle, Stolpen Castle, the old town of Pirna, Königstein Fortress, Weesenstein Castle, Großsedlitz Baroque Garden. . . These destinations can also be reached by public transportation. We are happy to advise you according to your interests in focal points of the visit (architecture, art, culture, or leisure activities). For sporting activities, the Forest Park is available for jogging, the tennis courts in the Forest Park, the Arnoldbad, a climbing park and rope course on Grundstraße.
Close to our vacation home is a stop (Loschwitzer Straße) for a city tour.

Easter in Dresden
We spent a few beautiful days in Dresden over Easter. The holiday home is located right near an S-Bahn station. The dock of the Saxon Steamship Company is also not far away. We used the apartment as a group of four and only had breakfast there, never cooking for ourselves. There is also the possibility to sit outside in front of the holiday home, but unfortunately, that was hardly possible for us due to the weather. The landlords are very friendly and live in the main house.
