Description

The luxurious Komos studio has a living/dining area with Smart TV, a well-equipped kitchenette with extractor bonnet, a beautiful bathroom and a fascinating sleeping gallery accessible via stairs. From the living area you have access to the private balcony.
Studio Komos is one of four units in the beautifully renovated "The Artist House". The name of the house stands for Manolis' loving artistic work that has gone into this 118-year-old mansion. With his fascinating ideas and many sustainable materials, a true work of art has been created. As soon as you enter the impressive hallway, you can feel the magic of this wonderful old stone building.
On the covered terrace behind the house, a far-reaching view of the natural property of approx. 2000 sqm, the village and the mountains awaits you. All guests of the total of three studios + one flat can meet here.
Therefore, the flat house is also ideal for families or friends of 8-10 people who want to spend their holiday together and at the same time want enough privacy.

Location and surroundings of object

The Artist House is located in the centre of Pitsidia, a small, quiet village on the south coast of Crete. Pitsidia is so centrally located that you don't have far to go for anything, be it the sea, the mountains, gorges, caves, valleys, excavations or towns. Everyone can organise his holiday individually here and enjoy it wonderfully.
In Pitsidia, everything is within walking distance. For example, you can have a great breakfast in the "Onira" and end the evening with a good glass of wine in one of the many delicious restaurants.
It takes about 30 minutes to walk to the beach, and only five minutes by car.
There are music events on the village square twice a week. These evenings have a great atmosphere.
There are easy as well as adventurous hiking possibilities in the surrounding area.....
There are many sights to explore: Palace of Phaistos, Gortyna and Agia Triada archaeological sites, Moni Odigitrias monastery and much more.
Beautiful beaches: Komos, Matala, Red Beach, Kalamaki, Agiofarago, Lentas,Tripiti, Preveli, etc.
The new archaeological museum of Messara is also within easy reach.

Pure relaxation

We have stayed at the accommodation several times in the past and felt very well taken care of this time as well.
The accommodation is as described. It has everything one needs and is super clean. The location is also perfect.
Communication with Bärbel is simply great, as she is always approachable and really takes care of everything. It is also important to mention the hospitality that is shown. One feels very welcome here! We are already looking forward to the upcoming summer at Manolis!

Extraordinarily beautiful accommodation in the middle of Pitsidia.

The Komos studio is one of four lovingly renovated studios in the Artist House, right next to the church in the middle of Pitsidia. Like all of Manolis's houses, this studio is also something unique and special. Everything is designed and furnished so beautifully and with such attention to detail that you feel comfortable right away. With the practical mini-kitchen, you can easily prepare a breakfast or small dish and enjoy it comfortably on your own balcony. It is also wonderful to be able to wake up in the morning in bed on the lovely loft and enjoy the landscape through the cleverly placed windows. Manolis and Bärbel constantly pamper you, and especially Bärbel is always there with advice and assistance. I think that the studio is particularly recommended for (young) couples.

Wunderschöner Urlaub auf Kreta

Mein Mann und ich hatten eine wunderschöne Zeit auf Kreta!
Die Gastgeber (Familie Pachakis) sind herzliche Menschen und immer darum bemüht, dass man eine schöne Zeit bei Ihnen hat. Die Unterkunft ist sehr sauber und gut ausgestattet.
Auf der Gemeinschaftsterrasse hatten wir einige Spieleabende verbracht.
Der Supermarkt ist fußläufig in wenigen Minuten erreichbar, genauso auch die Restaurants und zum schönen Strand dauert es ca. 30 Minuten, zu Fuß.
Zusammengefasst hat es uns an nichts gefehlt und wir hatten wirklich eine wunderschöne Zeit auf Kreta!

Pure Greek hospitality

Crete at its best

The apartment was very beautifully designed and we really liked it. The large terrace with the wonderful view of the mountains was our meeting point in the mornings and evenings (we were 3 couples). The welcome and the great hospitality were unmatched! We were wonderfully cared for the entire time and always felt like we were welcome guests. The villa is also very centrally located yet quiet. From there, you can take many great trips and enjoy beautiful hikes. It doesn't get better than this!

Perfect stay

The small little accommodation in the Artist-House was the perfect base in Pitsidia for our relaxing beach holiday. One can walk to all the restaurants and supermarkets and has a beautiful view from the terrace. Our personal highlight was also that we were personally invited by the host to dinner with the other guests. This lovely and delicious tradition seems to happen more often and made our stay even more special. We would come back anytime.

Beautiful holiday

I was with my friend for the first time in this accommodation, and we were thrilled. The holiday apartment is beautiful, furnished with attention to detail, colorful, and very charming. Nothing is missing, and if there is anything needed, Bärbel is a great contact person who takes care of everything immediately. We also liked that the balcony of our apartment was in the shade for a long time in the morning, so we could have a peaceful breakfast there without any problems. Overall, we would definitely recommend this vacation apartment, as the village of Pitsidia itself, as well as surrounding places like Matala, are perfect for a lovely summer holiday! !

Quiet, artistically designed studio in the heart of Pitsidia.

We spent beautiful days together in Pitsidia and the surrounding area. The small studio is equipped with pictures from various artists and lovingly designed by the landlord Manoli with a lot of imagination. Everywhere you discover beautiful details. In the studio, you have everything you need; a balcony at the studio and the large terrace at the house invite you to enjoy an evening wine and the view. The studio is absolutely central, yet you can see nature everywhere, and at night it is very quiet. A beautiful starting point for exploring the Messara. Highly recommended.

Hospitality in Perfection

There is absolutely nothing to criticize about this studio. Everything is simply perfect. Starting from the furnishings and individual decor to the location. Quiet and original in Pitsidia, yet not far from the hustle and bustle of Matalas. Additionally, there is the phenomenal weekly invitation from Manolis and family for a communal barbecue. This way, you can easily and casually get to know the other guests in the house. During the booking and throughout the stay, Bärbel was always reachable and approachable. Took care of everything, we've never experienced such service. If it should be a stay in southern Crete, then only here with Manolis. We'll be back!

Unique studio

We had rented the Gallery Studio Komos in the Artist House in Pitsidia for 14 days. The name Artist House does 100% justice to the room and the building. Basically, it is a small piece of art that was lovingly and completely furnished by the owner Manolis Pachakis. Everything was always a feast for the eyes (all prototypes), which we did not expect in this form. It is also worth mentioning the location close to the center, the tranquility in the accommodation, and the friendly and hearty hosts (invitation to barbecue once a week); in particular, Bärbel was always available and fulfilled all wishes. We would love to come back.

Charming House!

Also....the house is an old house...perfectly newly renovated...with style! Cool....In the middle of Pitsidia... It's a 100 meters walk to the village square. Just a 30 meter walk to the really best restaurant LIVAS. The house is truly wonderful charming. And lovingly furnished by Manolis. With self-painted paintings and a painted covered terrace. Very beautiful, very coherent. The house itself consists of four independent residential units. Which are offered individually. Each of these residential units has its own kitchenette, very well equipped, own refrigerator and so on. Of course, it is best to rent the entire house. We were a group of six people. Communication is handled by Bärbel. Check-in and so on uncomplicated, perfect... After one week, there is a thorough cleaning and the bed linen is changed. Perfect... Yes, and then you're invited...to Manolis' barbecue evening... And it's quite Raki-heavy... and funny on top of that...

Fantastic!

We have been going to Manolis' houses for years; we are fans of Villa Varka. All the structures are beautiful, original, and meticulously designed by Manolis himself, but with the artist house, he has truly outdone himself! The studios are small, inexpensive, and well-organized, with a shared terrace that allows, if one wants, to socialize with the other tenants. Manolis is always very kind and welcoming, organizing several dinners for his guests to get to know them and help them get to know each other. Highly recommended.

Dream vacation in Pitsidia

After 30 years, we traveled to Crete again. Upon the recommendation of our friends, we booked accommodation in Pitsidia. The Artisthouse is unique. A work of art by the owner. The house, the place, and the gastronomy invite you to linger - friendly, heartfelt, and individual. Less suitable for mass tourism like on the north coast - but all the more varied. Music in restaurants, ... "Bodikos" - delicious, honest Cretan cuisine from a die-hard Bundesliga fan to "Raftis" - refined Cretan cuisine: special. The friendly, warm host and the excellent support during the stay, as well as the optimal starting point for activities, complete the picture. One of our most beautiful vacations. A very beautiful vacation!

The studio is not only attractive to the eye, it also has everything - coffee machine, stove, walk-in shower, comfortable bed, and air conditioning. Easy to find by typing in The Artist House. It's a 10-minute drive to Matala. It takes a 25-minute walk to get to the Komos beach. Pitsidia offers some shops, nice cafes, and great restaurants. Recommended for couples :)
