Description
The Matala Gallery Apartment is one of four units in the beautifully renovated "The Artist House" .
Manolis Pachakis has lovingly and artistically transformed this 118-year-old mansion in Pitsidia into a very special place. As soon as you enter the impressive hallway, you can feel the magic of this wonderful old stone building.
Almost all the furniture was made by Manolis himself from sustainable materials such as old doors, windows, wooden barrels or similar.
The Matala flat has a living/dining area with smart TV, a very well-equipped kitchenette, bathroom and large sleeping gallery, as well as a second separate bedroom. A private balcony adjacent to the living area gives views of the beautiful Ida Mountains. Furthermore, there are two large terraces, one in front and the other behind the house. These can be used by all guests of the 3 studios + the "Apartment Matala".

Location and surroundings of object
The Artist Apartment House is centrally located in the centre of Pitsidia, so that everything is within walking distance. For example, you can have a great breakfast at the "Onira" and end the evening with a good glass of wine in one of the many delicious restaurants.
It takes about 30 minutes to walk to the beach, and only five minutes by car.
There are music events on the village square twice a week. These evenings have a great atmosphere. There are easy as well as adventurous hiking possibilities in the surrounding area.....
There are many sights to explore: Palace of Phaistos, excavation site Gortyna and Agia Triada, monastery "Moni Odigitrias" and much more.
Beautiful beaches: Komos, Matala, Red Beach, Kalamaki, Agiofarago, Lentas,Tripiti, Preveli, etc.
The museum in Vori is also within easy reach.

Cancellation terms:
- Free cancellation option until 90 days before the day of arrival.
- 89 to 29 days before arrival 20% of the rental amount / 28-21 days before arrival 50% of the rental amount / 20 - 8 days before arrival, 75% of the rental amount / 7 - 0 days before arrival we will ask for the entire rental amount. If we get a new booking in the canceled period, we only charge the difference. In the event of a government travel ban, you will receive a credit note for payments already made. This credit would be valid for 3 years. So you wouldn't lose anything.....

Unique place
We enjoyed staying in Manolis place since we felt very comfortable and welcomed. Manoli is a very kind host with lots of creative energy which is reflected in the way he built and decorated the studios. The flat provided everything we needed and the shared terrace has a beautiful view which allows you to spend peaceful hours there too. Thanks to Bärbel, who was handling the check-in and communication very smooth and friendly, we arrived and installed without any problem and could get in touch easily whenever it was needed. We can strongly recommend this . Big thank you to Manoli and Bärbel!

Beautiful, tastefully and creatively furnished apartment. Well located. The photos and the description correspond to reality. We communicated very pleasantly with Bärbel. Manoli was very nice, we really enjoyed the invitation to dinner, which he and his staff organized for all guests. We had a great vacation!!

We had a great time in Pitsidia.
The accommodation is beautiful and in a great location. During our stay, we were invited twice by Manoli to a fantastic barbecue evening. The communication with Bärbel was great. We would love to come back!

We felt at home!
Our stay in the apartment was wonderful. We were there for a little over two weeks, two adults and a toddler. It was very clean, very fast and uncomplicated communication with Bärbel, and once a week there was a great BBQ with Manolis.

"It was a great vacation. The apartment contributed significantly to this and we were very satisfied. Manolis, an artist and landlord, decorated the apartment in a very special style. Every day you could find something new. His free BBQ evenings for his guests were also a highlight. Bärbel, his German assistant, explained the process upon arrival and gave valuable tips. Anyone who vacations with Manolis catches the "Crete fever" and dreams of the next vacation."
