Holiday Home “WATT`N LICHT by the Sea”
The holiday home was newly built in 2022 and, equipped with a sauna and fireplace, offers year-round living comfort and a feel-good atmosphere at the highest level.
Already in the spacious entrance area, you can feel the excellent comfort of the holiday home. Here there is ample space for storing jackets, strollers, etc.
The generous and bright living/dining area features a cozy corner sofa and a comfortable TV and reading chair. The best entertainment is provided by a Bluetooth-enabled sound system and an internet-capable 43-inch flat-screen “Samsung The Frame,” which is a visual delight even when turned off. For comfort even during stormy North Sea weather, the wood-burning fireplace complements the underfloor heating present throughout the house. In the dining area, a large dining table offers space for up to eight people, where you can not only dine comfortably but also play one of the many board games from the available game collection. Of course, there is also an extensive book collection, should you run out of your own reading material. The house also has a fiber optic connection, so the free Wi-Fi provides sufficient performance for Netflix, video conferences, and more. In the fully equipped fitted kitchen with brand-name appliances (extra-large refrigerator with freezer compartment, ceramic hob, oven, dishwasher, coffee machine, coffee pad machine, electric kettle, toaster), you can also conjure up more elaborate menus thanks to ample workspace.
For interim cleaning, vacuum cleaner, broom, etc. are available in the storage room. The washing machine located in another separate room can also be used. Two of the three bedrooms on the upper floor are furnished with comfortable box-spring double beds (with continuous topper and hygiene covers) and a spacious solid wood wardrobe. Seating, additional coat hooks, and in one of the bedrooms another internet-enabled 40-inch flat-screen TV complement the exclusive furnishings. In one of the bedrooms, a small laptop workstation is available. In the third bedroom, in addition to two solid wood beds, there is also a spacious wardrobe. Window pleated blinds and/or curtains allow for darkening and privacy in all rooms. For the very young holiday guests, a travel cot, a high chair, and a small footstool in the bathroom are available.
Both the guest bathroom on the ground floor and the master bathroom on the upper floor have spacious, walk-in showers, the latter also featuring a comfortable bathtub. In addition to the towel radiators present in both bathrooms, the underfloor heating here also provides cozy warmth. Relaxation and enjoyment after long hikes, even on cold days, is offered by the Finnish sauna located in the upstairs bathroom.
From the large terrace facing south/west, equipped with a garden table and seating for six people, the view extends largely undisturbed by neighbors into the greenery. Here, the existing charcoal grill can also be fired up for a tasty barbecue evening. A large sunshade as well as adjacent trees provide protection from direct sunlight. Insect screens are also available. Of course, the garden surrounding the non-smoking holiday home can be fully used as well.

The small fishing village of Fedderwardersiel lies in the immediate vicinity of Burhave. Even today, in the age of industrial fishing, traditional cutters still sail from here out into the North Sea to catch crabs. When they return to the harbour after a successful catch, the garnet (as the crabs are called here) can be bought fresh. You should not miss this pleasure. There are regular trips with the MS "WEGA II" from Fedderwardersiel to one of the largest seal banks on the coast. The life of the seals is observed from the ship. It is also a great experience when the Wega II lets itself dry in the middle of the Wadden Sea National Park and the captain takes his passengers for a walk along the seabed. And for those who prefer to learn about the special features of their holiday region on dry land, there is the National Park House Museum Fedderwardersiel in Fedderwardersiel with many exciting exhibitions and activities about the Wadden Sea and the history of Butjadingen.

Nice stay with initial difficulties
The holiday home is nicely furnished and you can find everything necessary in the house. You are just a few minutes (on foot) from the fishing harbor and the beach. Unfortunately, not everything was clean upon arrival. After consulting with the management, this was resolved. After we had settled in, we had to notice again that even more had not been thoroughly cleaned. Here too, the management responded quickly again. It was, on the one hand, a lot of dust and rubbish (old socks, tissues, bottles, etc.) under the beds. This was promptly addressed, but the cleaning company was not able to pull out the nightstands and check underneath them. With such a complaint, this should be a matter of course.
The living and dining area is clearly visible from the neighbors (left and right), but the pleated shades help here. Since we have been to Butjadingen for the 13th time and have many comparison options, we would not rent this house again.
Here are a few tips for the landlords:
Make an explicit house rule (this way, previous tenants can be held more accountable) and a microwave would be helpful.

A girls' weekend
A very pleasant stay in a tastefully decorated house. One felt very comfortable, like at home. Clean, bright, terrace with a view of the garden, quiet. Very good and helpful staff.

Beautiful house with great location.
