Description

The cottage is 65 square meters, has its own entrance, its own parking space, and its own little terrace. There is free Wi-Fi and satellite TV (analog, so mainly German). It has some uneven floors, sometimes low ceilings and low door frames. That means very tall people will need to adjust. The kitchen is the lowest and in the middle only 1.85.

The cottage is the lower floor of the authentic farmhouse of a farm from 1890. There is also a small bedroom with a single bed, for a 3rd person.

To avoid disappointment, I will mention right away that I do not allow pets and also no children under 12 years old. Furthermore, smoking is not allowed IN the house.

Location and surroundings of object

The village lies on the edge of the Hunsrück, 2.5 km from the Moselle (as the crow flies), and has around 400 inhabitants. From the house, you are in the middle of nowhere within 50 meters. It is only accessible by private transport.

It is a true hiker’s paradise. Here you can walk for hours through gorges, valleys, across fields, forests, and along streams without encountering anyone. From our house, you can descend 4 km through fields, forests, and vineyards to the Moselle and the nearest village, Senheim. All the photos here were taken within a radius of 1 km from our village.

The village itself has no shops, but on both sides of the village, there is a village with a supermarket at 11 km. And Zell, Cochem, and Kastelaun (all around 20 km) are shopping centers. In the village there is a multi-generation park (Free entry, 10 min walk), with playground equipment, benches, and a simple barefoot path. All of this is situated around a beautiful pond with lots of greenery. There is a log cabin with a terrace and BBQ hut, where you can have a drink and eat cake on weekends (Only in the summer season).

We do have our own winemaker (Schawo) in the village, where you can taste a glass and of course buy some wine. And there is a large riding school (just behind us), with among other things... a horse boarding stable. Gestuet-weiss. I myself have a small exhibition space, right next to the holiday cottage, with my own work. Glassware, vases, paintings, decor and jewelry.

Other than that, there is nothing, except a lot of peace and quiet. If you want high life, you really have to go down to the Moselle, or up to the Hunsrück. The village is so conveniently located that you can quickly drive to various picturesque villages, with cozy terraces and restaurants. Not only is the Moselle a holiday paradise, but the Hunsrück and the Volcanic Eifel are also well worth it. Within a radius of 30 km there is an enormous diversity of landscapes here, which makes the surroundings particularly fascinating, surprising and interesting, and ideal as a base.
