Description
The charming, small and practical holiday cottage that awaits you was built around 1790. The half-timbered house with straw-earth trusses was originally used as stables, which a captain had built for his two sisters together with a semi-detached house.
in 1990, it was rebuilt and redesigned and is part of a listed ensemble like many that can be found in the village of Prerow.
In the cottage there is an entrance area, breakfast room, toilet with shower, kitchen, a small storage room, stairs to the upper floor, upstairs 2 bedrooms with 2 beds each, a small library with books from the region.
In the kitchen there is a cooker (4 hotplates), a fridge, a small dishwasher, a coffee machine,
The cottage is furnished with everything you need to feel comfortable (also a small TV).
There is also a terrace with table and chairs and with a view of a large, wide meadow with trees such as alders, goddess tree, sequoia, old hawthorn stand and shrubs such as buddleia, spring and summer flowers.

Location and surroundings of object
The holiday home is in a quiet location, within a 6-8 minute walk you are in the centre with shopping facilities, restaurants, bakery, post office, pharmacy and cinema. In a good 15-minute walk, you can reach the stone-free, white northern beach, where you can also find amber after storms, with beach chairs, the 395 m long pier and the beach promenade with cafés and small shops, via the Prerowstrom.
By bike through the Darß forest, you can reach the picturesque western beach in 20-30 minutes. This forest is a very special one, there is much to discover. Whether blueberries or cranberries, mushrooms, moss hills, heather, stunted beeches, pines, bogs with rare, protected plants such as gale bush, marsh spurge, silver flag grass. When you reach the beach, you have a clear view of the blue sea, seagulls and ships on the horizon. If you are lucky, you will find chicken gods, thunderbolts or even fossilised sea urchins.
In the evening, at dusk, you can watch the game on the Maase.
A special and impressive spectacle is offered every year by the 40,000 or so grey cranes that gather on the Bodden to gather reserves for the flight south.
There is much to rave about this unique patch of nature; it is said to be one of the most beautiful coastal landscapes in the world, with the whitest sand. There is much to see and experience in the Baltic resort of Prerow: For example, the many half-timbered houses, some with reed roofs, with their traditionally painted doors, or the Darß lighthouse, which invites you to enjoy a wide view over land and sea. It can be reached on foot (approx. 30-45 min), or by horse-drawn carriage, walks along the Prerow Stream, a bicycle tour over the dykes to Zingst, with a short detour to the cemetery with the famous Seamen's Church from 1726, later rebuilt as a brick building during the "Swedish period", with a late Baroque pulpit altar, many votive ships and historic captain's gravestones. The Darß Museum, lovingly assembled, also holds many local secrets.
There are traditional festivals to experience: the pier festival, barrel launching, steamer trips ....
Visits and excursions to Barth with its largest Gothic hall church, to Stralsund to the Oceanographic Museum, to Ribnitz to the Amber Museum or to Klockenhagen to the Mushroom Museum are also worthwhile.
Boredom is certainly not an option.

A dream
The holiday home is a dream, historically valuable and the property as well. Everything was clean and there was plenty of space, even to hold a badminton tournament :-)
The mattresses are heavenly to sleep on and it is quiet. In the kitchen, you have everything you need. The landlord is a good soul and also very interesting :-)
Everything is easily accessible from the little house, by foot or by bike.

Beautiful holiday home depending on the previous tenants.
We were generally satisfied with the house. Everything was as described, and we spent a lovely two weeks in Prerow.
The only problem is that the final cleaning and handover of the little house does not take place in person. This means that if the landlord is not on site, everything depends on the reliability of the previous tenants.
In our case, unfortunately, the dishwasher was defective (leak in the hose). The previous tenants had turned off the water, so they were aware of the damage but did not report it to the landlord. This resulted in us having to manage without a dishwasher for several days. Such a thing is not the end of the world, but it significantly reduces comfort.

Häuschen mit Charme
In July, we spent 2 weeks in Prerow. This little house captivated us from the beginning. It has a special charm, the rooms are small but cozy. But the most beautiful part is the large garden with wonderfully blooming plants.
The location of the house is ideal, everything can be reached quickly with bicycles.
The landlady, Mrs. Hein, and her cat Butje are very lovely.
We will come back.

Most beautiful Baltic Sea holiday ever :-)
If you are looking for an original, delightful, romantic holiday home, you are in the right place. We are 2 adults and 2 children and we were thrilled. There were 3 sleeping areas (our children simply sleep better when separated). The equipment is simple but completely sufficient and beautifully arranged with a lot of love. . . . We had all meals outside in the romantically beautiful seating area. Looking into the garden always created a holiday feeling. . . . we immediately felt relaxed and at home. The children made good use of the large area. . . it's really nice that there is so much garden space. Most of the houses are built very close together. . . . We are not fans of these newly built mass tourism houses. In short, we had the best Baltic Sea vacation ever and will definitely come back. Many thanks to the kind landlady, says the Schütze family.

All around perfect!
To sum it up: A DREAM! The location of this wonderful little captain's house in Prerow is idyllic and quiet, yet all important places in Prerow (beach, restaurants, shopping options, pier, etc.) are within a few minutes' walk. The house is situated in a huge, enchanted natural garden that has enchanted us with rare and beautiful flowers, trees, and other plants. Everything you need is available in the house itself. The kitchen is simple but more than adequate for a family of four (even with a dishwasher!), the living room is cozy with a TV, and the bedrooms are very, very cuddly and individually furnished. There is also a small library where you can choose literature about the area and many novels/crime novels for possibly rainy evenings. The bathroom is equipped with a shower and functional. The best thing, however, is the very, very nice landlady who also lives on the property in another beautiful small house. Never intrusive but always helpful, she made our visit to Prerow perfect with her tips! Thank you very much!!!
In conclusion: It couldn't have been better and we will definitely come back 100%!
P.S: The price is unbeatable, of course!
